Let’s face it, Ireland is a country in which any stylish woman must be prepared.

On any given day from summer to winter it could rain, hail, snow or be so windy we lose our new fedoras. Here are some staples for your wardrobe that should cover you for any weather.

1. A cute raincoat
This one isn’t only for April showers, you’ll be packing it for all the summer festivals too. Mostly because your mother is forcing you to. But you’ll be thankful when the skies open!

2. A posh brolly
Every girl needs a good sturdy umbrella for those rainy days. Cath Kidston has the perfect collection, we love this one as it would totally keep our eye make-up intact!

3. A warm jumper
This will come in handy even in summer as it is such a sweet colour but it will also keep you nice and cosy for those chillier days we are bound to encounter.

4. A good, sturdy and most importantly, waterproof, pair of shoes
It may not even be raining but if the ground is wet you still need waterproof shoes. If your feet are cold, you’ll be cold.

5. Scarves
Most, if not all, of Irish girls own a massive array of scarves. If our neck and chest are covered it’s like a nice toasty hug. Also there are just so many beautiful styles out there. This one is perfect for springtime.

It’s no secret that when we go abroad we become more Irish than ever before. Even if you were a raw macrobiotic vegan at home, you will find yourself scouring the internet for Milky Moo’s or begging your mam to send more Lyons tea.

Here are the things you’re most likely to crave:

1. Club Orange/Lemon
Tommy’s favourite.

2. Tayto sandwich
Yes, you can now get Taytos most places but does it taste the same without Brennan’s bread and Kerrygold butter? No, no it doesn’t.

3. Bacon fries
A thousand empty packets scatter the pub’s tables every quiz night.

4. REAL butter
None of this “We can’t believe it’s not butter is it not no it tastes like real butter but it’s not” butter.

5. Barry’s or Lyon’s tea (no fighting please) with Irish bainne.
We’ve tried to recreate our homely cup of tea and it turns out the secret is in the milk.

6. Floury potatoes
With a load of salt and butter please.

The Strypes, who hail from Co. Cavan, made their US television début on Conan O’Brien on Monday night, performing their hit single Blue Collar Jane.

The young lads later uploaded a picture to Twitter that read, “Conan was mind blowing. Top notch!” alongside a picture of the band with the popular American TV host.

The Irish band are also said to be performing at the most popular pre-Oscars party in LA, the Oscar Wilde party, on February 27th.

Wow, we wish we had been this accomplished as teenagers. Our days mostly consisted of kissing a Ronan Keating poster, watching Clarissa Explains It All and eating Pushpops. Sigh.

Etsy is a great place to buy unique clothes, jewellery and everything else you can think of, but it can also be a major minefield.

Here are a few of our favourite Irish Etsy stores to get you off to a good start.

1. Kawaii Candy Couture

For the Disney fanatic in your life, head to Kawaii Candy Couture on Etsy for a massive range of Disney necklaces, hair slides, brooches and bracelets. It’s not only Disney though – there are lots of ‘geek’-themed jewellery for the Harry Potter or Game of Thrones fan as well as much, much more.

Wow! Just shows you what kind of talent is actually out there.

This video shows Glenn Murphy, Oisin O’Callaghan and Ronan Scolard doing an absolutely brilliant rendition of The Rembrandt’s song I’ll be There for You, known as the song from Friends to most of us!
