‘I am not perfect’ Kaley Cuoco apologises for THAT IG snap
If social media is anything to go by in the last two days, hell hath no fury like an American scorned on July 4th.
And while we're pretty sure most people found Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston's July 4th celebrations more inappropriate than Kaley Cuoco's Independence Day slip-up, that hasn't stopped the Big Bang Theory actress from dropping to her knees and grovelling like there's no tomorrow.
Taking to Instagram on Monday, the popular actress paid tribute to her country by sharing a snap of her three pets chilling out on an American flag, and people are NOT happy.
"Thank you @the_pet_handler for taking care of the squad while im out of town! 4th of July pups!" wrote Kaley in a move which Instagram users have deemed inappropriate on so many levels.
"Showing disrespect for the flag, it should never touch the ground, or let your pet stand on it!" wrote one while another remarked: "That's not a towel. I believe in the right to burn the flag in protest as long as it's in context, that's why so many people gave their lives, for freedom."
"But this is not that, this is simply disrespectful," they added "That's a flag. A symbol of what people have sacrificed for."
Acknowledging her major misstep, Kaley swiftly deleted the offending image before replacing it with heart-shaped stars and stripes snap.
"First off, please know, I have the utmost respect for my country. I am a proud American in every sense of the word. I understand the American flag stands for our freedom and represents American heroes, past and present," she began.
"Yesterday I made a mistake by posting the picture that was taken of my sweet dogs posing on an American flag. I sincerely apologize to anyone that has been offended by my previous post," she continued.
"This is no way reflects my feelings toward what the American flag represents," she continued. "Living in the public eye, can be extremely difficult at times."
"Every mistake and every imperfection is amplified," she wrote "I am not perfect. I am a proud American, today, tomorrow, always."
OK guys, I think it's time to let her off the hook now.
