American runner company, New Balance are filing a lawsuit against Karl Lagerfeld, claiming that the designer ripped off their trademark runners for his new haute couture shoes.

According to the lawsuit,New Balance claims that the only difference between their iconic shoes and Karl’s, is the capital “K” on Lagerfeld’s shoes.

The company said that they’ve had the same designs since the ‘70s and even some fashion blogs have commented on the similarities.

“Although we cannot comment on the specifics of the case, we believe it is vital to actively and vigorously defend our brand.”

Even though the Karl’s famous shoes are only available to buy with a full expensive haute couture, celebs such as Kristen Stewart have already been spotted wearing the controversial shoes in Cannes.

Designer, Karl Largerfeld revealed his latest designs for the Chanel Cruise 14/15 collection in Dubai.

Karl said he was convinced that Coco Chanel would have loved Dubai and believed it was the perfect place to launch his new collection.

“She would have been fascinated by the Middle East, just as she was fascinated by China and England. Dubai’s a city that rose out of the sea and desert in less than 30 years.”

Karl’s new collection varied in designs from dark colours to bold prints. Largerfeld also seems to be returning to a boho chic look, as some of the models displayed his latest designs of flowing dresses and blouses on the catwalk.

Famous faces were also spotted at the catwalk event with the likes of Dakota Fanning, Tilda Swinton, Vanessa Paradis and Freido Pinto all seen sitting in the front row.

Due to his controversial views on just about everything, Karl Lagerfeld isn’t the most popular designer. But, he does have an ally in Kristen Stewart!

Kristen, who is the latest Chanel darling, recently gushed about how amazing the designer is.

The actress said: “He’s an impressive guy. He is definitely so much more than the glasses and hair you think he is … he’s awesome and so sweet.”

We have to admit, that’s not exactly the impression he tends to give off!

Perhaps the two have more in common than we thought!

If we wrote down all of the offensive things Chanel’s Karl Lagerfeld has ever said, we’d be here all day.

But this one certainly surprised us.

Speaking to The Guardian, Karl said that his protégé , Cara Delevingne, is “not a standout beauty”

The designer continued on to say, “Was it Bacon who said, ‘There is not beauty without some strangeness in the proportions’.”

So…she is beautiful but strange looking, and that is beautiful? We’re confused.

Karl also spoke about his distaste for selfies, calling them, “electronic masturbation” and saying that they are distorting to the face, “The chin is too big, the head is too small.”

Sorry, did he just say “electronic masturbation”?

We are glad her controversial family name hasn’t stopped her becoming a successful model.
