What’s not to love about Katy Perry, from her cool tunes to her amazing fashion sense? So, it’s no surprise that Barack Obama admitted to having a little bit of crush on the Roar singer too.

Katy was performing at the White House dinner last night, when the President revealed that he was a big Perry fan.

Inviting Katy to the stage where she performed her hit single Roar, Obama told his guests: “We have just one of my favourite people performing tonight — Katy Perry. We are so grateful to her.”

He added sweetly: “I love Katy Perry. She is just a wonderful person. I've just met her mom and now I know why she is such a wonderful person, but I just want everybody to know she is on tour right now and so, for her to take time out to do this, is really special and we really want to say thank you to her for doing this.”

Wow Obama really is a fan!

Katy tweeted later that evening about her fun night at the White House: “Between singing at the White House & releasing one of my favourite videos, today was a good one. #ThisIsHowWeDo.”

Eek, we don’t think the queen of reality TV will be too happy with Katy Perry’s recent comments.

The pop star has come under fire for what some were calling “cultural appropriation” as she featured mummies with big booties in her Prismatic tour.

Katy described the reason behind the controversial mummies to Rolling Stone magazine, saying:  “As far as the mummy thing, I based it on plastic surgery. Look at someone like Kim Kardashian or Ice-T’s wife, Coco. Those girls aren’t African-American. But it’s actually a representation of our culture wanting to be plastic, and that’s why there’s bandages and it’s mummies.”

Somehow, we’re not so sure Kimmy will appreciate being the inspiration behind your mummies, Katy!

It sounds as if Katy doesn’t think Kim’s bum is the real deal…

Katy Perry revealed all in a recent interview with Rolling Stone magazine from accusations of cultural insensitivity, to the topic of having a baby one day.

The 29-year-old was accused of racial insensitivity, when she decided to wear a Geisha costume during one of her performances. Perry said she didn’t want to cause any offense, and said she would stay away from sensitive topics in the future.

“It came from an honest place. If there was any inkling of anything bad, then it wouldn’t be there, because I’m very sensitive to people. I guess I’ll just stick to baseball and hot dogs, and that’s it.”

But even though Katy kept quiet on her love life, the singer did share her views on having a baby someday.

“I want to be doing that in the right time. And that’s not in the next two years, you know? Maybe it’s in a five-year plan, but I need to really be able to focus 100 percent of my attention on it. I don’t really want to take the child on tour. Not until, like, birth through five is over. I don’t need a dude”

Liam Martin has gained over 1.5 million followers on Instagram, thanks to his hilarious intimidations of iconic celebrity photos.

From Kim Kardashian to Katy Perry, the New Zealand teen has gone all out, when it comes to recreating some of these stylish images.

Martin said he originally started the posting the pictures as it was “something completely different from the norm”.

While Liam admits he has received negative comments for his images, it’s the positive ones that make it worthwhile.

“I get people telling me that I teach them to not be afraid to do something different!”

It’s definitely different alright, but we love it.

Nicki Minaj’s cover for her new album Anaconda has definitely faced a lot of criticism.

The rapper has spent all day defending her revealing cover – saying that there were double standards surrounding her image and the image of other artists’ in the industry

But despite the negative responses Nicki has received on Twitter, it seems fellow artist Katy Perry is on her side.

Minaj was responding to a negative tweet, when Katy gave her seal of approval of the album cover. Katy joked that she would love to take a nap on Nicki’s behind.

Nicki quickly shared her appreciation by retweeting Katy’s message and responding: “LMFAOOOOO Katy cat nooooooooooooo!!! RT @katyperry: I wanna take a nap on dat pillow doe @NICKIMINAJ”.

There is a musical version of the ’90s classic Clueless in the works, and Katy Perry has approached Amy Heckerling, the original movie’s director, about playing the part of Cher Horowitz!

Heckerling said: “Katy Perry has expressed interest, and I love her to death!”

However, Katy has some competition in the form of Iggy Azalea. The blonde rapper impressed Heckerling with her re-enactment of clueless in the video for her song ‘Fancy’: “It looked like they had more money for the video than I had for the movie, but I was extremely flattered and I thought she was amazing. And whoever did the costumes, I don’t know how they did that. Maybe Iggy wants to do it!”

Katy Perry celebrated the 4th of July in a way that every girl dreams of – at Disney Land…with a pizza party!

And we are so, so very jealous.

The Roar singer donned a super cosy looking dressing gown on holidays at Disney World in Florida before tucking into a massive pizza.

Katy captioned this photo, “Princess pizza party” and it looks like she was watching Cinderella while she chomped the tasty take-away too!

So it was basically the most perfect night of ALL time!

Katy Perry proves that we weren’t the only ones who suffered embarrassing teen years when she shared this hilarious photo.

The pop star uploaded the image with the caption: “#TBT me at 14 or 15 wearing a bedazzled shirt that said POPSTAR. (with chocolate in my teeth yerp)”

It looks like Katy knew exactly where she was going from a very early age indeed!

We’re not so sure we’d be as brave as Katy sharing old teen photos if we had almost six million followers…eek!

It’s always nice to see when celebs don’t take themselves too seriously, and Miss Perry is definitely one of those people!

Katy Perry has been sued for copyright infringement by a group of Christian hip-hop musicians from Missouri.

The group are saying that not only is Katy’s song Dark Horse a rip off of their song Joyful Noise, but she also exploited it and profited from it. The lawsuit reads: “And by any measure, the devoutly religious message of ‘Joyful Noise’ has been irreparably tarnished by its association with the witchcraft, paganism, black magic, and Illuminati imagery evoked by the same music in ‘Dark Horse’.

“Indeed, the music video of ‘Dark Horse’ generated widespread accusations of blasphemy and an online petition signed by more than 60,000 demanding removal of an offensive religious image from the video” – an Allah pendant was removed from the video in February.

Joyful Noise was released in 2008, while Dark Horse didn’t come out until last year, and while there IS a similar beat in both songs, we can’t be sure. Do you think Katy is a copy cat?

We really wish Katy Perry and Robert Pattinson would just spill the beans on their relationship.

According to a source, the two have been  getting along very well indeed since Katy split with John Mayer:

“Rob and Katy have never stopped being in touch – she loves the attention but also thinks he”s really sexy and funny.

“The texting stepped up in January when things started going bad between Katy and John [Mayer]. Rob’s been a real shoulder for her to cry on. Since she’s been single, though, the texts have hotted up – she loves drunk-texting him and they’re always flirty.”

Well we KNOW people don’t usually drunk text other people when they’re just friends.

Apparently they’ve even talked about moving together.

Rob Pattinson may have temporarily moved back in with Kristen Stewart, but that didn’t stop him cosying up to Katy Perry at the after party for the premier of his new film The Rover.

A source said that Rob’s eyes lit up when he saw Katy walk into the room: “She looked gorgeous in a lace sequin black mini-dress, and they hugged and kissed. He kept kissing her the entire night.”

However, the pair are adamant they are ‘just friends’. Katy said in an interview last year: “Okay, so here’s the proof there was never anything going on with me and Robert Pattinson… I fart in front of him. Properly fart. And I never, ever fart in front of a man I am dating. That’s a rule. He’s my bud; I’m like his big sister. We just hang out.

“The other day, I said, ‘One of the things I’m most proud of is not sleeping with you, Robert.’ And that’s true.”

This may have been a year ago, but it sounds to us like they’ve got the ingredients for a good relationship!
