Despite Katy Perry stating that she wouldn't be throwing any shade at Taylor Swift with her new album, her newest song doesn't quite seem that way.

'I think [my new album is] a very empowered record. There is no one thing that’s calling out any one person,' she said, when asked if she would be clapping back at Taylor Swift's song Bad Blood. 

'One thing to note is: You can’t mistake kindness for weakness and don’t come for me. Anyone. Anyone. Anyone. Anyone.'

Today, Katy dropped her brand new track Swish Swish, and fans are speculating that it reads like a diary of events that occurred during Katy and Taylor's well-documented beef.

With sly digs like 'you’re about as cute as an old coupon, expired,' and a perceived mention of Taylor and Kim Kardashin's melodramatic moment where Kim exposed Taylor and started the now infamous snake emoji trend against her ('karma’s not a liar, she keeps receipts') it kind of looks like the singer is aiming this song at the country-turned-pop star. 

Katy even teamed up with Nicki Minaj on the track, who also has also had a very public argument with Taylor Swift. 

Taylor has yet to respond to speculation that the song is about her.

It has been nearly four years since Katy Perry released her last full album, Prism, so we've been dying for the pop sensation to create more music. 

Katy has confirmed that she does have new music on the way, full of 'purposeful pop' which reflects on society and politics.

However, fans have been wondering if the new album will have any response to her well-publicised beef with pop and country singer Taylor Swift, who is rumoured to have written her hit single Bad Blood about her feud with Katy. 

'That’s not my question to answer, if it’s about me,' said Katy, when asked by Entertainment Weekly if she will be responding to Taylor's dig.

' I think [my new album is] a very empowered record. There is no one thing that’s calling out any one person.'

Okay, so it's definitely not going to have a response to Taylor, then.

We applaud Katy for bowing out of the traditional way in which women in the same industry can be pitted against one another, simply for being female.

Only a few weeks ago Katy Perry went for a drastic hair change, and now she's after doing it again.

Katy debuted a gorge new look just over a month a go, where she decided to go for a long fringe with shaved sides.

But, now the fashion maven has gone even shorter, cutting off her fringe and sporting a pixie cut style.

The singer showed off her new do on Instagram last night, captioning the photo, "fifth element flow" (whatever that means).

The peroxide pixie cut seems to be a bit of a trend in Hollywood lately, as just two weeks ago Kristen Stewart went for the same style.

While accepting the National Equality award at this year's Human Rights Campaign gala, Katy Perry revealed that a staunch anti-gay rhetoric had informed most of her childhood and adolescence.

Born into a conservative and religious family, Katy was taught from a young age that the LGBT community was something to fear.

"When I was growing up, homosexuality was synonymous with the word 'abomination' and 'hell'," she explained. "So most of my unconscious adolescence, I prayed the gay away at my Jesus camps."

During the impassioned speech supporting the gay community, the singer revealed that with the support of friends she began to understand her own sexuality, and ultimately realised her perception of the LGBT community had been utterly skewed.

"There is no other community that has done more to shape who I am today, and there is no other community that I believe in more than you," she said.

Delving further still, the 32-year-old singer explained that her own experiences contradicted the teachings of her church and family.

Referring to her debut single, I Kissed a Girl, Katy added: "Truth be told, I did more than that. But how I was I going to reconcile that with a gospel-singing girl raised in youth groups that were pro-conversion camps?"

Katy finished her well-received speech with a promise, saying: "I'll never cease to be a champion, an ally, a spotlight, and a loving voice for all LGBTQ-identifying people."

The singer took to Instagram to showcase a brand new, post-breakup haircut after her split from Orlando Bloom, and it's a pretty dramatic change.

The songstress opted for a bleach blonde, choppy pixie cut that's giving us major Miley Cyrus vibes.

The new 'do looks drop-dead gorgeous on the star, and proves that post-breakup hair changes aren't just for us mere mortals. 

Whether Katy cried over a pint of Ben & Jerry's has yet to be revealed, but it's always a possibility. We knew she was just like us!

Not content with just debuting her new look, the singer also hopped onto Twitter to make a snappy statement abut her breakup. 

"No one's a victim or a villain, get a life y'all!" she said.

"You can still be friends and love your former partners," said the star, ceraly referencing that things are amicable between herself and LOTR star Orlando. 

The pair were together for just over a year, but the couple have called it quits on their relationship for the time being.

“Before rumours or falsifications get out of hand, we can confirm that Orlando and Katy are taking respectful, loving space at this time," reads a statement from both celebrities' reps, acquired by People. 

Hopefully the two enjoy their break and then rekindle their relationship.

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have been together for just over a year, but the couple have called it quits on their relationship, at least temporarily. 

“Before rumours or falsifications get out of hand, we can confirm that Orlando and Katy are taking respectful, loving space at this time," reads a statement from both celebrities' reps, acquired by People. 

The two were spotted together on Sunday at the Vanity Fair Oscars party, where they posed for photos together.

However, a source said that other than smiling for the cameras side-by-side, the two didn't have any further interaction. 

"Katy didn’t spend much time with Orlando,” the source told People.

“They got together for a photo, but that was about it.”

No exact reason has been given yet for the split, but with Katy's busy schedule promoting her new single Chained To The Rhythm and Orlando focusing on his ambassador role for UNICEF, clashing work commitments could be the cause.

Hopefully the two enjoy their break and then rekindle their relationship.

Last night, the Brit Awards hosted some amazing musicians to celebrate a year of fabulous music.

When performing, Katy Perry decided to commit her set to the year in politics, as she put on a politically charged act that paid homage to the current state of American and worldwide governmental relations.

The performance included 20 foot tall skeletons who had a remarkable resemblance to Donald Trump and Theresa May, who were shown holding hands and dancing together, while hundreds of tiny versions of the White House frolicked around them.

It was one of these tiny houses, with a backup dancer inside, that caught the eye of fans.

During her new song Chained To The Rhythm, the dancer promptly fell off the stage in the most confidant manner possible.

We've all had that horrible moment where we've gone down the stairs and missed a step, but this little guy just felt that fear on a global level, as his tumble was posted on Twitter for the world to see.

Luckily, the white house costume means his face is hidden so his dignity is intact, but we hope the rest of him is too after that fall.

Katy Perry has been pretty busy touring and being loved up with Orlando Bloom for the past few years, and hasn't dropped even a hint of any new music.

Now we are getting our fix of the pop star's bubbly sound, as Katy has just released her first single in a very long time.

The singer just leaked her new track Chained to the Rhythm, and it's exactly what we expected from the gorgeous pop singer.

The song was co-written by Sia, and it's the bounciest summer song we've heard all year.

Aside from 2016's Rise which was penned for the Olympics, Katy hasn't released a new tune since her album Prism back in 2014. 

The song also features a verse by Bob Marley's grandson, Skip.

The singer originally hinted that something big was coming by changing her social media profile pictures to a new snap of her with dramatic blonde locks, causing fans to speculate that new music was en route.

The singer also dropped headphones attached to sparkly disco balls at different US locations for adventurous fans to hear a snippet of the song ahead of time.

We've heard the rumours and we've heard the reports, and now after four years in the making, Katy Perry is finally getting her own shoe line.

The singer is finally making her mark on the fashion world and she seems to be pretty excited about it.

"You are what you wear , right?" she told Footwear News.

"It's one of those things where I really love the line and I’m excited by it. It’s not like you’ll never see me in a pair of Adidas slides ever again. And you’ll [probably still] see me on the streets wearing Uggs.”

Her fancaaay shoes won't be cheap though, with prices starting off at $59 (€55) and going up to $299 (€280).

“Here’s the thing: When I’m working or promoting music, or onstage, I don’t get the opportunity to have a one-on-one conversation or meet everybody individually," Katy said.

“So the way I present myself can set the tone. It could be a conversation opener, just by my shoes or by the way I wear my nails – it could be [my form of] hello.”

The ultimate it-couple, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom spread some Christmas cheer by visiting the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles on Tuesday.

The cute couple donned some festive ensembles, dressing up as Santa and Mrs Claus to visit the sick children.

The duo chatted and posed for photos with the hospital residents, who were more than delighted with their famous visitors.

They also passed out gifts and sang carols, at one point even singing a sweet duet at the children's request. 

“Never naughty, always nice. The kids at CHLA received a much-deserved visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus… who happen to look a lot like Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom!” the hospital wrote, in a Facebook post praising the celebs for giving up their time to visit the hospital.

The couple have been dating for almost a year after first being spotted together at a Golden Globes after party in January.

OK, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom are either engaged or are playing a huge joke on us, because… well, LOOK at the size of that ring!

The pair have been together since the beginning of the year and stepped out in New York together on Monday night.

Not only did Katy have a massive smile on her face, but she was rocking a huge diamond ring on her wedding finger.

And eyewitness told ET: "She walked with her left hand leading her, and bent her hand to show off the large sparkler to the cameras.

Whether it's a big joke on us, we don't know, but they do look happy together.

If this is true, we're going to be heartbroken…

InTouch has revealed that Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have split up.

The website claims that both stars are not taking it very well, but the reason for their split is still unknown.

A source said: "Not long after Halloween, Orlando confessed to pals that he'd decided to end their relationship. He claimed that he's just not ready to get married and have babies."

However, another source is claiming that it was Katy who said goodbye to her actor beau.

For the sake of love in this world, we hope it's only a temporary split.
