Katy Perry

If Katy Perry's Cheeto costume wasn't good enough last year, the singer has just upped her Halloween game this year.

The 31-year-old went as a Mic Drop because, that's what singer's do best (after singing, obvs). She even recorded an adorable video to go with it, if you had any doubt that she is the funny costume queen.

Yep, Katy's mic has officially dropped:

Katy Perry is definitely no wallflower, but even she was a little taken aback when she was greeted on stage by a very over-zealous fan last weekend.

The singer was performing at Rock in Rio on Sunday, and this video of her on-stage encounter with a superfan started doing the rounds last night.

As usual, Katy picked a fan from the crowd to bring on stage in front of an audience of tens of thousands, but she got a little more than she bargained for when she pulled Brazil native Rayane out of the front row.

Confused, handsy and definitely more than drunk… this was one reveller that probably should have been taken home.

"We need some water," Katy joked at the girl began kissing her neck and (accidentally, we think) grabbing her boob.

"She's rollin'!"

Dressed in a smiley face crop top and shorts, Rayanne certainly looked the part of a Katy super-fan, and she revealed she'd even been to her Sao Paolo gig just days beforehand.

In huge praise to Katy, the singer remained totally professional and friendly throughout – she might as well have been chatting to Rayane at a house party, not on stage in front of a sold-out crowd.

The video is worth a watch… even if you take it as a warning of what NOT to do at your next concert.

We don't know whether he's on Katy's side or just doesn't like Taylor's music, but Niall Horan is after majorly dissing Taylor Swift in a recent interview.

During a playful interview with CapitalFM, One Direction’s Niall Horan decided to diss Harry Styles’ ex, Taylor Swift.

When asked who he liked better, Niall picked Tay’s bitter enemy, Katy Perry, instead of her.

Ouch.

He may not have meant to drag her down but there’s may be some bad blood between Taylor and the One Direction member. Niall was forced to choose between Taylor and her arch rival, Katy Perry, 30 and as it turns out, it wasn’t that hard of a decision for him!

“Katy P,” he said, looking pretty confident in his choice. While that may be a tough decision for mostly anyone, Niall made it look easy.

You can even hear Louis say, "good choice" after Niall picked the Fireworks singer.

Niall might have also been showing gratitude to Katy. She was the swing vote that kept him on X Factor, reports J-14

If Katy didn’t show support for Niall, he may not have gone on to join the biggest band of the world, so perhaps he was being thankful?

New York Fashion Week closed with a majorly star-studded fashion party last night.

Models, movie stars, and street style stars alike gathered at Harpers Bazaar Icons party for a night full of drinking, dancing, and, oh yeah – fabulous outfits.

Everyone took the night's black tie code very seriously, but as always there were a few fashion disasters in the crowd.

From embellishment and lace, crystals and cutouts, here are the best and worst dressed stars from the night.

Katy Perry – hit

Katy Perry stunned wearing Saint Laurent. We are also digging her new red do'.

Gigi Hadid – hit

Gigi wore a highly anticipated H&M x Balmain dress and pulled it off effortlessly.

Mariah Carey – miss

We're not sure about this one Mariah, it's a bit too mum-sy for us and kind of looks like a child's room that's full of glow-in-the-dark star stickers.

Allesandra Ambrosio – undecided

Yes, she is stunning and WOW, her body – but we think this showed a bit too much for last nights event. It kind of looks like a swimsuit, don't you agree?

Suki Waterhouse – hit

We LOVE what Suki wore last night. Grecian Goddess eat your heart out.

Kendall Jenner – miss

We think Kendall looks a bit drab and boring here. She could have dressed A LOT better for this high-profile event.

Kate Upton – hit

Even though her chest looked a tiny bit squashed in this number she still rocked the sultry, sexy look.

Bella Hadid – hit

We love this black Kaufmanfranco number on Bella. Opposite to Suki Waterhouse, we're getting a dark Grecian Goddess vibe.

Alex Pettyfer and Marloes Horst – hit

Hot couple goals! We love Marloes dreamy dress and Alex looks just as good in his black tux.

Jaden Smith – miss

Go home Jaden. He looks a little lost in the ultra-glam crowd. We're sure his clothes cost a bomb, but really, he could of at least worn a shirt.

Rita Ora – undecided

We love it because it's Prada, but otherwise, we're not so sure.

Rachel Zoe – undecided

Don't get us wrong, we love Rachel Zoe's effortlessly cool style. On the one hand she looks very slick in the trend-setting fringe number; but on the other hand, it kind of reminds us of a disco ball.

OK – so we always suspected that Katy Perry wasn't the kinda gal that you mess not.

But then, we love the Roar songstress for her ability to speak up and speak out.

And it seems that Ms Perry isn't afraid to put her critics firmly in their place either – especially when they're questioning her singing ability.

At a concert in Melbourne, staged as part of her massive, on-going Prismatic World Tour, Katy asked a fan in the audience for her phone so she could take a selfie.

Upon inspecting the device, however, the singer realised that the woman was in the middle of a WhatsApp conversation – and that the guy at the other end of the messages had stated Ms Perry "couldn't sing live at all".

Responding, the 30-year-old megastar takes a selfie, which she duly sends to her detractor along with the scathing line: "You thought I would never see this chat. You dickless monkey. You have no balls, pussy. C***."

Ouch.

Katy is also horrified to hear subsequently that the man is actually an EX boyfriend of the concert-goer.

"What are you doing?" she asks. "Do NOT text your ex."

It seems that the incident took place late last year – but has only came to light over the last few days when the lady to whom the phone belongs shared the interaction online.

'Round SHEmazing Towers, we can't help but notice that mega successful singer-songwriter Taylor Swift is fond of a high-profile celebrity spat

Yes, whether it's Katy Perry (obvs), Nicki Minaj, or Tina Fey AND Amy Poehler (unforgivable!), Tay-Tay certainly isn't afraid of jumping in for a scrap when she feels slighted (which seemingly is quite often).

The 25-year-old has even managed to get her boyfriend, Calvin Harris, in on the act: a week ago he didn't like a comparison made online between his Shake It Off love and Miley Cyrus.

When the message was retweeted by none other than Zayn Malik, formerly of One Direction, Mr Harris let his feelings be known in rather spectacular fashion.

And now it's a case of another week, another celebrity shade throwing bonanza. This time, Taylor has been pitted against Canadian songstress, Avril Lavigne.

Here's the back-story (pay attention): Swifty liked a post on Tumblr which suggested she was nicer to her fans at meet and greets than many other singers – the 'other' examples used being Kanye West, Britney Spears, Katy Perry (eek)… and Avril herself.

When this came to Ms Lavigne's attention, she quickly amassed a montage of her own.

Depicted was the musician engaging warmly with the many followers she has met over a career which spans close-to a decade-and-a-half. It included the caption: "So let's keep it all about the love and stay positive."

And another tweet stated: "Comparison is judging and judging a person does not define who they are it defines who you are. We all Love our fans," – a message her 19.3million followers responded positively to.

Cue Mr Harris jumping in. "She didn't judge you she doesn't judge anyone!

"She was only having fun with her fans, not trying to compare you," the 31-year-old Scottish DJ said addressing the Sk8r Boi singer, 30, directly on Twitter.

And needless-to-say, it didn't take long for respective fans to express their outrage at the opposing side's actions. Indeed, social media has been positively alight since the incident.

Today, a source also told HollywoodLife.com that Calvin reckons Taylor is involved in so many feuds simply because "everyone" is jealous of her.

"Calvin thinks it’s plan and simple, everyone is jealous of his girl," the insider explains.

"Taylor is constantly being picked on for every little thing she does and Calvin’s advice is to stay positive and not take it personally."

Well, in that case we can't wait for next week's instalment of Tay-Tay's topsy-turvy world. Surely we're due a Britney-Swiftney spat soon?

Trending

This week, Zayn Malik allegedly threw shade Taylor Swift's way – retweeting a message that implied the songstress is more focused on making money than using her fame for good.

It was a move that prompted Tay-Tay's boyf Calvin Harris to launch a full-on attack on the former One Directioner… though the Scottish DJ later relayed somewhat, complimenting Mr Malik on his "great voice".

Still, it's certainly not the first time that 25-year-old Ms Swift has been involved in a tiff. In fact, trouble and feuding seems to follow the singer-songwriter.

Here, we chronicle the highs and lows of her top six fall-outs:

Taylor Vs Katy:

The original feud! We can hardly remember what kicked it all off at this stage – something to do with Katy, 30, allegedly stealing her former friend's dancers for a world tour (why were the dancers so eager to leave, we'd like to know).

And even now, it seems it's the stand-off that refuses to die-down.

In fact, just late last month, Ms Swift brought on stage with her during a concert in Massachusetts an over-sized shark – a prop Katy famously used during her Super Bowl performance. She evidently thought it was hilarious; others were less enthused.

Of course after Taylor's high-profile Bad Blood video, we're guessing that a kiss-and-make-up scenario isn't on the cards anytime soon.

Taylor Vs Miley:

We love that Ms Cyrus, 22, speaks her mind – and speak her mind she certainly did during a recent interview with Marie Clare.

“I don’t get the violence revenge thing,” the singer said referring to Taylor's Bad Blood video. “That’s supposed to be a good example?

"And I’m a bad role model because I’m running around with my titties out? I’m not sure how titties are worse than guns.”

Now, HollywoodLife.com reports that Ms Swift knows Miley doesn't like her (FYI: Katy and Ms Cyrus are mates – and Tay-Tay thinks the former turned the latter against her).

In fact, Swifty is SERIOUSLY concerned that the Wrecking Ball singer is going to have a pop at her at the VMAs in two weeks' time: Miley is presenting; Taylor is up for nine awards.

We can't wait.

Taylor Vs Nicki

Speaking of the VMAs – Taylor was left red-faced when she assumed Nicki Minaj's VMA Twitter rant was about her (it's not always all about you, Tay-Tay).

Ms Minaj, 32, had been complaining that her mega-hit Anaconda didn't get a Best Video nomination (which actually does seem a bit strange).

"If your video celebrates women with very slim bodies," her online complaint began, "you will be nominated for vid of the year." Cue Taylor jumping in, taking it all personal.

Predictably, within 24hours Katy Perry just couldn't resist elbowing her way into the situation with her own online contribution.

Wowsers. Anyway – Twitter went properly into meltdown over the whole situation, and Tays later took a chill pill and admitted that she had probably jumped to conclusions.

She also invited Ms Minaj to join her on stage "anytime," (pretty sure the woman sells out her own concerts, mind). The duo subsequently seem to be on good terms – for the moment anyway.

Taylor Vs John

The Pennsylvanian singer and a guitar-weilding John Mayer had a brief romance – although things didn't end too well. Then she wrote a song, Dear John, which he claims is a bit mean.

Lines include: "Don't you think 19 is too young to be played by your dark twisted games, when I loved you so?" and "I lived in your chess game, but you changed the rules every day."

These days, Mr Mayer says she just ignores him.

"You can see me at the Grammys doing what I do best, being avoided by Taylor Swift," the 37-year-old said while hosting the Late, Late Show back in February.

John and a certain Katy Perry, of course, have had an on-off thing since 2012 – which probably doesn't help matters.

Taylor Vs Apple and Spotify

Taylor famously withdrew her music from Spotify because she says they weren't giving her enough dough – though the likes of U2, The Rolling Stones and Paul McCartney don't seem to mind. Anyhoo, her argument is: "Music is art, and art is important and rare.

"Important, rare things are valuable. Valuable things should be paid for."

So, what's the alternative? Well, funny you ask… because in early June Apple began its music streaming service – a platform that, until Tay-Tay bemoaned its payment policy just a few weeks after its launch, many folk were unfamiliar with.

"We don't ask you for free iPhones. Please don't ask us to provide you with our music for no compensation," she said in an open letter.

The tech corporation quickly did a U-turn, as confirmed by executive Eddy Cue on Twitter.

And so in the end everyone involved seemed rather happy – especially the woman herself, who just days after the incident announced that she'd be releasing her mega-selling 1989 album… on Apple. Yup, everyone's happy, so.

Taylor Vs Tina Fey AND Amy Poehler

We hardly know where to look – comediennes Tina and Amy are living legends, after all. But a couple of years ago, Swifty just didn't find them all that funny

Why? Well, the duo were hosting the Golden Globes in 2013, peppering the gig with plenty of tongue-in-cheek gags. Over the course of the evening, they even made fun of Miss Taylor's dating history.

Tays didn't seem to see the funny side though and later told Vanity Fair: "there's a special place in hell for women who don't help other women."

Ouch.

In contrast, for example, the likes of Hollywood legend Leonardo DiCaprio managed to smile and say nadda at the receiving end of similarly scathing remarks.

Indeed, last year he did just that when Ms Fey announced his arrival on the Golden Globes stage with the properly hilarious: “And now, like a supermodel’s vagina, let’s all give a warm welcome to Leonardo DiCaprio…"

There's no denying that a whole host of celebrities are sporting head-turning rainbow-coloured tresses – and it now seems that this unlikely trend has because THE key look of the summer.

Yes, despite being rather challenging to pull-out, the rise of the so-called My Little Bronies is undeniable… and we reckon a lot more non-famous folk will soon be embracing a rainbow delight of colourful locks.

In recent times Kylie Jenner, Georgia May Jaggar, Katy Perry and Hilary Duff have all embraced the bright and brilliant craze.

And there are a whole host of seriously cool Instagram accounts dedicated to showcasing Bronies in all their glory (we particularly love @pastelocks).

It's a VERY good day for Katy Perry!

So much so in fact that she let us all in on a secret: namely that she will front the new edition of Harper's Bazaar.

Landing pretty much one of the best covers in the biz, she was evidently oh-so excited to share it with her 28million followers… she put the snap up on her Instagram page.

The Roar singer shared the snap along with the comment: "PEEK-A-BOO! The Icons issue shot by the LEGENDARY Jean-Paul Goude! So rad to be able to share this issue with some of my favs & inspirationals like @Oprah &@gweelos. Grab one to see the incredible transformations! Dress by Saint Laurent by Hedi Slimane".

Yup, suffice to say the edition is kinda is a big deal. Katy was selected as one of Carine Roitfeld's 2015 icons alongside the likes of Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Mariah Carey, Dakota Johnson, and Oprah Winfrey. #Sweet #squadgoals.

On the cover Ms Perry sports a sultry Saint Laurent dress by Hedi Slimane along with a simple Cartier bracelet. What the net fan on top of the dress is for, we don't quite know, but the 30-year-old singer sure pulls it off.

We can't wait to get the issue now!

Katy Perry V. The Nuns… the ultimate showdown continues.

Last month it was reported that pop star Katy Perry was in a legal battle over a coveted piece of Los Angeles real estate. Katy attempted to purchase the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary convent in L.A.’s Los Feliz neighbourhood for a cool $15 million (€13.7m), but two elderly nuns have contested the sale.

The Dark Horse singer made the purchase deal with Archbishop Jose Gomez, but two of the convent's five nuns, Sister Rita Callanan and Sister Catherine Rose, had already agreed a sale with another party.

And they say they had every right to do so, as the convent is theirs to sell. Quite the pickle.

Katy even visited with the nuns themselves to try and convince them, but it seems she's simply not a savoury enough character for them. "Well, I found Katy Perry and I found her videos and…if it's all right to say, I wasn't happy with any of it," Sister Rita told the LA Times last month.

Yesterday, a judge ruled that sale of the property to any buyer be put on hold while he comes to a decision about what would be the best way to proceed. In the meantime though, Katy MAY be able to rent the convent, if the other potential buyer, restaurateur Dana Hollister, doesn't get there first.

"We’ll have a battle of potential leases,” Judge James Chalfant told a court in LA yesterday, setting a new hearing for September, at which time Katy and Dana can battle it out for rent of the coveted property.

Let the games begin…

It is widely known at this stage, that Taylor Swift and Katy Perry have this outrageous on going feud, and it has even been said that Taylor's song 'bad blood' is about the singer.

We're not even fully sure what the drama is all about, but it has been reported that it all started when Katy stole back up dancers from Taylor.

Our real question is why were the dancers so eager to leave Taylor for Katy? But that's for another day.

Nicki Minaj also got involved as her and Taylor exchanged words over Twitter, Taylor apologised and the gals made friends again, but it doesn't seem the same is true for Taylor and Katy.

During her performance of Bad Blood at a concert in Massachusetts over the weekend, Taylor was joined on stage by a very special guest… Left shark!

Katy famously danced with two sharks at the super bowl last year, and the guy on the left gained serious popularity as he was spotted getting his dance moves wrong.

Well Taylor just threw some serious shade at Katy being joined by a shark on stage at her gig but fans thought it was immature.

Some people would rather they just had it out and got it over with already…

According to some, it was just down right childish…

While others didn't take it too seriously and saw the funny side…

The internet was left agog earlier this week when Taylor Swift got her claws out after a misunderstanding with fellow pop star Nicki Minaj… but now it looks like she has finally done the unthinkable and backed down.

Taking to Twitter just a few minutes ago, Taylor offered up an apology to Nicki, saying, "I thought I was being called out. I missed the point, I misunderstood, then misspoke. I'm sorry, Nicki."

We never thought we'd see that happen, but Nicki was quick to graciously respond, saying, "Everyone makes mistakes."

The short-lived feud kicked off on Monday night when Nicki tweeted her disappointment about not getting a VMA Best Video nomination for her song Feeling Myself. "If I was a different "kind" of artist, Anaconda would be nominated for best choreo and vid of the year as well," she wrote. "If your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year."

Although the tweets were more of a comment about how racial bias still prevails in the music industry, Taylor took it as a personal slight on her own video for Bad Blood.

"I've done nothing but love & support you. It's unlike you to pit women against each other. Maybe one of the men took your slot.." she wrote at the time.

Since then, both Taylor's enemy Katy Perry AND her bestie Ed Sheeran have both weighed in on the messy Twitter war. With Katy accusing the Blank Space singer of "capitalizing on the takedown of a woman" and Ed defending her to the Daily Telegraph by saying she had done "nothing wrong," this feud has definitely brought about some very mixed opinions.

Now, to wait for Nicki's response to that grovelling apology…
