Two of our favourite comedy actresses – Anna Kendrick and Lena Dunham – are starring in a movie together, and it looks pretty great!
The comedy-drama follows an irresponsible 20-something woman (Kendrick) who, after a breakup, moves in with her filmmaker brother (Mark Webber), his novelist wife (Melanie Lynskey) and their baby, disrupting their lives in a big way.
The movie is due to hit Irish screens this August.
Both Taylor Swift and Lena Dunham have spoken of their love, for one another. But it seems the singer songstress and actress, writer could be working together for a new episode of Girls.
Lena was spotted outside of Taylor’s apartment in New York, holding a script for a Girls season 4 episode.
Taylor Swift has spoken in the past, about how much she loves Lena and the show.
“Lena Dunham is this girl who is so incredibly talented. She’s a writer, director and actress who stars in this show called Girls on HBO. It’s my friends and I’s favorite show.”
Whether Taylor is making a cameo appearance or writing a song for an episode, we can’t wait to see what these two come up with.
Lena Dunham said it was a “huge disappointment” to her to discover she wasn’t gay.
The Girls star said her “connection” to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community is so “strong” that she was overjoyed when her sister, Grace, 22 came out five years ago.
Speaking at Point Honors Gala in New York, which helps LGBT students and those who are questioning their sexuality, Lena said, “I have always felt a strong and emotional connection to members of the LGBTQ community. It was actually a huge disappointment for me when I came of age and realised that I was sexually attracted to men.”
“So when my sister came out, I thought, ‘Thank God, now someone in this family can truly represent my beliefs and passions'”.
Lena – who is in a relationship with musician Jack Antonoff – said she finds gay men attractive, adding that she had dated one or two in the past.
She said, “This is probably the most attractive room I have yet to enter, Gay men clean up real good, which is probably why I have dated so many of you.”
Joan Rivers has done it again, slamming Girls star Lena Dunham for sending out the message that it’s OK to be fat.
The 80-year-old comedian, who has never been known to mince her words, has attacked Lena’s weight and fashion sense.
Joan said that while she thought Lena was “terrific”, she didn’t know how she could wear “dresses above the knee.”
The Fashion Police presenter slammed Lena for wearing a bikini during an entire episode in the latest season of Girls, the show Lena herself created.
“You’re sending a message out to people saying it’s OK, stay fat, get diabetes, everybody die. Lose your fingers,” said Joan.
“If you look the way you look, Lena, and that’s fine and you’re funny, don’t say it’s OK that other girls can look like this,” she said, adding, “Try to look better.”
Girls star Lena Dunham was left red faced after she posted a pretty controversial tweet on Saturday night. After taking part in a nude sketch about Adam and Eve on the Saturday Night Live show, one fan tweeted: “you don’t always have to get naked!”
Unfortunately, Lena didn’t really think about her response to the fan before she tweeted: “Please tell that to my uncle, mister. He’s been making me!”
Needless to say, the American actress received several negative comments to the tweet which she then subsequently removed. She offered an apology and wrote: “I just made and deleted a not so great molestation joke. Sorry guys. I am really sleepy.”
The actress went on to say that her audience to her HBO show was very different to the Saturday Night Live’s audience.
She added: “SNL has a way bigger audience than our usual cozy girls audience, so I was seeing a rash of very different kinds of twitter rage. But I should know better, and do. Even naked girls get embarrassed. Sleep well and thanks for an amazing weekend.”
Lena Dunham is not happy and it’s no wonder!
After she landed February’s Vogue cover – something that was a dream of hers – website Jezebel paid $10,000 for the un-retouched images of Lena. Nice, eh?
In a recent interview, Lena brands Jezebel‘s purchasing of the images as “gross”, saying: “They made such a monumental error in their approach to feminism.”
Jezebel themselves were surely disappointed to find that Lena’s Vogue photos were not even altered that much, but stuck to their guns anyway admitting that while the photos weren’t that photoshopped, that Vogue is still “not interested in reality”. Worst apology ever?
Lena also addressed this lack of apology or back-tracking in her interview, noting: “Instead of going like, ‘Hey, we kinda f***ed up, these pictures aren’t that retouched Lena, enjoy the Vogue spread that you’ve been excited about since you were eight years old,’ they were like, ‘She’s not retouched, but she could’ve been.’”
Well this is a surprising turn of events!
It has been reported than none other than Victoria Beckham has expressed an interest in landing a guest spot on Lena Dunham’s Girls.
And according to Lena, the prospect may not just be a pipe dream of Ms Posh Spice herself.
Speaking with Vanity Fair, the genius behind Girls explained; “I’d love to see Victoria Beckham, like, dress it down a little bit, I love her; she’s very chic and nice.”
Well Lena, if anybody has the power to prise the Louboutins and oversize sunnies from Victoria’s hands, we reckon it’s you. We would LOVE to see Victoria dressed down and au naturel, so here’s hoping it happens!
Victoria Beckham isn’t the only fashion icon that is expected to make a cameo on the show; it was also revealed the president of fashion label J.Crew, Jenna Lyons, is also set to hit our screen on the hit HBO show.
