With so much going on in his personal life, it can be difficult to remember that Liam Payne is a recording artist.

But earlier this month the singer sent Twitter into a state of mass confusion after signing his first solo record deal with American label Republic Records.

Already that collaboration seems to be baring fruit as yesterday the 23-year-old pop star took to Instagram to tease his first single.

The unnamed track includes NSF One Direction lyrics like “I wanna make love to you, be onto you, so hard for you” and “all these other b*tches here be tripping, the way you walk in is so different, I just wanna make it with you”.

So far fans have expressed mixed feelings towards the preview with many taking to social media to share their disappointment with the teaser.

“I want to support Liam Payne but his new song snippet sound awful.  The autotune, the lyrics…Just…NO (sic),” wrote one.

While another said: “Why does the new Liam Payne song sound like a male iteration of Britney Spears.  Girl that auto tune hurts.”

Meanwhile others have speculated that the song is about Cheryl, with some going as far as to suggest that it remarks on the star’s rumoured pregnancy.

Many believe the lines “All the best things take a little time, take a little time baby.  This ain’t nothing, take a little time baby” strongly hint that the couple are expecting their first child.

With such a short clip to work with, it remains unclear as to whether or not Liam is singing an innocent pop song or referencing his BAE's secret pregnancy.

But hopefully if the rest of the track gets released, all will become clear.

As an international superstar you’d imagine Liam Payne must be pretty hard to surprise in the present department.  But thanks to some super thoughtful One D fans, the singer is about to receive a gift with a difference.

When faced with the challenge of buying for the person who appears to have everything, a group of Liam’s resourceful followers decided to set up a fundraising campaign to mark the singer’s upcoming 23rd birthday.

Using a Just Giving page, the fans who “would like to give back” are using the popstar’s birthday to raise money for the Way Youth Zone in Wolverhampton – a community centre in Liam’s hometown.

The page reads: “Liam Payne has done so much for fans so we the fans would like to give back.”

“In honour of his 23rd birthday, we are collecting donations for  the Way Youth Zone in Wolverhampton, a purpose-built facility for the city's young people aged 8-19 (and up to 25 for those with disabilities).”

Cheryl’s boyfriend eventually heard about the fans’ plan through his mother and took to Instagram to express his gratitude.

 

Alongside a picture of an article about the fundraiser, Liam wrote: “My mum just showed me this who’s ever idea that was thank you so much what an amazing birthday present” (sic).  Awh!

Fair play to the fans for coming up with such a positive way of marking the singer’s special day.

Things seem to be getting pretty serious between One D’s Liam Payne and former X Factor judge Cheryl as the star has reportedly bought his partner a huge diamond ring.

According to the Daily Star, Liam has purchased a sizable rock for Cheryl’s upcoming 33rd birthday but the mere mention of a ring has sent the One Directioners into overdrive.

And it’s not just the fans that are getting excited.

The black diamond and ruby ring – which is supposedly inspired by Cheryl’s famed rose tattoo – also has bookies dropping their odds on the likelihood Liam will pop the question this year.  

According to the Mirror, bookmakers William Hill have reduced their odds from 6-1 to 4-1.

The news comes a week after Liam’s sister Ruth defended Cheryl from online abuse over what the star wore to her wedding and just days after Cheryl’s soon-to-be ex-husband was spotted with Made In Chelsea regular Nicola Hughes.

Niall Horan sure knows how to clear up rumours!

Hours after it was announced that One Direction will be taking an extended hiatus to focus on individual projects, Niall took to Twitter yesterday to clarify some inaccurate news that has been floating around the internet. 

In his Twitter message he wrote, "Ok so lots of rumours going around. We are not splitting up, but we will be taking a well earned break at some point next year".

"Don't worry though, we still have lots we want to achieve!".

In another tweet he continued to say, "Can't wait for you to hear all the new music we have for you and to perform some new songs as the tour continues! Love you all xx". 

Shortly after Niall's tweets, band-mate Louis Tomlinson spoke out about the speculation.

"Your support is truly indescribable! It's just a break… we're not going anywhere!! Promise". 

The groups "well earned break" won't begin until March 2016.

A source assured E! News over the weekend that their are no problems with the group and instead are simply exploring new opportunities that are coming from their already-successful careers. 

"They are great friends and fully support one another".

"They are aware that they are able to work on their own stuff as well as remain together. This is an exciting time for them creatively and as a group".

The source added, "They envision a future together but with the freedom to do other things as well".

One Direction star Liam Payne seems to have lost ALL of his clothes.

Oh dear…

Liam posted a snap on Instagram – minus his pants – taken on the back of a pretty fancy looking boat.

The singer captioned the snap, “Damn that was my last pair.”

What a shame!

Thankfully (erm…or not), the picture was pixelated to hide save Liam’s modesty.

1D have just finished the European leg of their Where We Are tour and it seems like Liam is keen to get in some well-deserved relaxation… in the nip!

One Direction star Liam Panye made an emotional plea to his fans after reading some very nasty comments on Twitter.

Liam took to Twitter after the band’s latest gig in Switzerland writing, “Just want to say a massive thanks to all the Swiss fans for tonight the dedication you guys show is is more than love thank you xx.”

But he then soon added, “If you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say anything at all tbh I don’t have time for people being out right nasty for no reason…

“Just because u have a twitter doesn’t give u a free ticket to write horrible stuff about people…

“I see it on here everyday people writing vicious things about each other wish we could all just b nice to each other and get along night x.”

It seems Liam took all this Twitter nastiness to heart, as this morning he wrote, “Morning everyone please don’t be sending hate to people that’s never what I want to sit here and watch arguments all day so let’s calm down.”

Let’s hope they listen up!

Liam Payne has went and done something super sweet and accepted a fan’s marriage proposal.

And better yet – they’re to wed at Buckingham Palace!

Liam was proposed to by 16-year-old mega fan Ellie-Mae Morgan, who suffers from a rare brain condition.

The One Direction boys were taking part in a Q&A for the Rays of Sunshine charity, when Ellie’s mum Sam said, “Ellie would like to know whether Liam is available for marriage?”

To which big-hearted Liam replied, “I am currently available for marriage. I will see you tomorrow. We’ll have it at Buckingham Palace.”

Sam later said, “Ellie had just the best day ever. She didn’t stop smiling.

“They are all really lovely boys and just normal lads.”

Just too cute for words!

Ever since Pharrell Williams wore the brown Vivienne Westwood Buffalo hat to the Grammys in January, it’s been popping up everywhere!

Homer Simpson was seen wearing one in the Simpsons, and it even has its own Twitter account with nearly 20,000 followers.

And now One Direction star Liam Payne has posted a selfie on his Instagram account modelling the head gear himself.

Liam captioned the snap, “Gone for a Pharrell tonight.”

He posted the selfie as the band continued their Where We Are world tour, which is now in Europe.

Happy singer Pharrell  has spoken of his surprise that it has become such a sensation.

“I was just wearing a hat,” he said.”Some people like it and some people are like ‘what is that?’. At the end of the day I feel good if I’m expressing myself.”

Liam Payne is really not happy with some of his more ‘devoted’ fans.

The die-hard Directioners have been camping out at his house ever since they found out he was back in the UK.

And it looks as if he’s not too impressed tweeting, “I can see you say outside please go home or go somewhere and enjoy the sun rather than spending your day watching when I leave my house.”

Liam is apparently really starting to feel the pressure of global mega-stardom, and admitted he had been ordered to stay away from Twitter recently after a string of bizarre posts.

Liam previously said, “I have a few drunken rants sometimes on Twitter … Yeah they are quite deep, sometimes I go in hard, it’s not good.”

Maybe a break from Twitter will be good for this 1D star.
