Caroline Flack has stepped down as host of Love Island after she was arrested and charged with assault.

The presenter issued a statement this morning and stressed that the best thing to do would be to step away from the show during this difficult time in her personal life.

She wrote:

“Love Island has been my world for the last five years, it’s the best show on telly. In order to not detract attention from the upcoming series I feel the best thing I can do is to stand down for Series 6.

“I want to wish the incredible team working on the show a fantastic series in Cape Town.”

The 40-year-old continued to thank the people who have showed her kindness since reports of her arrest emerged late last week.

She added, “I have never experienced such kindness and love in my whole life. Not just from friends and family who are always the greatest, but also from total strangers who send messages to me, offering help and understanding.”

“And my boyfriend Lewis, I love you,” she concluded.

Winter Love Island airs on ITV2 on January 12. ITV have yet to reveal who will replace Caroline Flack.

Caroline Flack has been arrested and charged with assault after a fight at her home.

It is believed the police were called to the home of the Love Island presenter in the early hours of Thursday morning.

A man, who has yet to be named, was assaulted at the presenter's London home.

A spokesperson for Met Police told the Daily Star: “Caroline Flack, 40, of Islington was charged on Friday, 13 December with assault by beating. 

“This follows an incident at approximately 05:25hrs on Thursday, 12 December after reports of a man being assaulted. He was not seriously injured.”

The TV host has been released on bail and is due to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Corner on December 23.

Greg revealed that his family, including his mum and sister, were sent death threats following his shock split from Amber.

The rugby player opened up about the tough time in an interview with Extra.ie.

However, he was deeply concerned for his mum and sisters who weren’t used to being in the public eye whatsoever.

“It was when they got at my mother and my sisters – that touched a nerve with me. It really got to me so I had to calm them down and make sure they were OK,” he revealed.

We are all so invested in celebrity relationships, but at the end of the day they’re just people.

Attacking Greg’s family for his actions is beyond unnecessary.

Love Island star Laura Anderson has opened up about her breast augmentation surgery in a beautifully honest post.

The reality star explained that she had recently decided to undergo a breast reduction. Laura said that people aren’t warned about the impact surgery will have on you later in life.

“Here’s what they don’t tell you, every surgery has repercussions years down the line so this quick fix mentality which we all suffer from from time to time will most definitely come back to bite you in the ass.”

She stressed, “It's not like buying a pair of jeans that don’t fit so you just take them back. There's no refunds when it comes to interfering with our bodies.

“My original implants were so large that over time I’ve actually stretched my skin and breast pocket so much that I was told my choices would now be limited. This is just something I would never have thought about all those years ago,” Laura admitted.

“Having no implants and to be natural is honestly the person I feel inside. I just want to say to young girls or guys out there that think surgery is the answer to all their problems, just know the decision to go under the knife is huge and really has its consequences.”

“My message to you is yes fashion changes, but our bodies don’t need to!” she concluded.

Love Island’s Jourdan Riane has confirmed her breakup from Danny Williams in an emotional open letter.

The reality star stressed that she has to respect herself before anyone else in the moving read. She explained that she enjoyed her relationship with her Love Island co-star but explained that she has boundaries.

“I know people will come with the “I told you so”, “you should’ve listened” (maybe it’s true) & more than likely snigger/laugh at my situation.,” she added.

Jourdan explained that this is exactly what she did but things didn’t work out with Danny, “I went into this with a genuine heart & real intention to make it work. The love was as real as the hurt is now.”

We have started spending a hell of a lot more time in front of the telly due to the dreary, dark autumn evenings. We’re swiftly running out of series to watch, but thankfully Love Island is here to save us from tuning into Fair City.

The Winter Love Island will air sooner than we expected and we’re feeling super excited about it.

The show will return to our screens on January 8 so mark your calendars!

A source told Mail Online, "The new Winter Love Island will launch the second week of January.

"Bosses are still deciding on the final date but it is thought to be January 8, a week after staff arrive in South Africa.”

There will be one major difference in the winter series. Apparently the show will only run for six weeks rather than eight.

January is always such a miserable time. It’s freezing cold, our bank accounts are empty and our stash of Christmas chocolate is dwindling so the Winter Love Island is bound to brighten our spirits.

Love Island’s Camilla Thurlow has opened up about her mental health struggles on Elizabeth Day’s How To Fail podcast.

The former reality star opened up about she “entertained” thoughts about suicide and not being alive.

She shared: "You start to entertain thoughts about what not being alive would be like, even if it's just letting that cross your mind or whether it becomes a more serious thought pattern.

Camilla explained how she constantly felt uneasy, “It starts to become unbearable to be inside my own head all the time and I get completely trapped in it, trapped in a really sort of negative spiral."

The Love Island star said she descended into self-loathing, “I'd had it before so this year it was a recurrence and was managed a lot better. But immediately before Love Island I was in a very, very difficult phase and I really struggled to see a way out of it.

Maura Higgins is officially taking part in Dancing On Ice. The Longford legend will get her skates on for the 2020 series of the popular reality show.

The news was confirmed on This Morning and it’s safe to say the Love Island star will be a huge hit with viewers.

He told RTÉ, “One big one, for me anyway, is to stay away from the online apps – Tinder, Bumble and all that – and just meet someone organically.”

"Some nights you get one glass of wine, some nights you get two, you either get a choice of beer or wine, I always choose wine," Maura explained.

"One night I went into the larder where the drinks get prepared and there's like a water dispenser there. I went in before everyone else and I downed everyone's wine and I filled it up with water.

We can relate to the struggle of craving some vino, especially if we were on a stressful reality show fighting off other gals to find love.

The Longford native has also divulged on other behind-the-scenes secrets from the reality show, admitting that some scenes were reshot.

"Yeah, we did re-shoot," Maura said. "Just say, for instance, if a text came through and you weren't loud enough or if you stumbled on your words, you'd have to re-take obviously."

Kevin Clifton isn't holding his opinions back about his Strictly Come Dancing co-star AJ Pritchard, suggesting that the fellow professional dancer tried to steal Stacey Dooley for himself last year.

Appearing on a one-off Strictly special, which will air on Saturday night, Kevin speaks about the process of the dancers and contestants testing their compatibility with a 'speed dance'.

According to The Sun, Kevin claims he was ‘going for it’ with Stacey while they were dancing in a salsa circle, but AJ later swooped in and tried to pull Stacey away for a one-on-one talk.

"Last year with Stacey in the salsa circle, I was going for it… overdoing it," Kevin says.

Kevin is partnered with Anneka Rice on this year's Strictly, but was recently forced to deny claims that he’s "fuming" with the pairing and insisted he’s having a "wicked time" with Anneka in rehearsals.
