Claire Johnson and Mark Gaffney are both blind and first met in March 2012 at a two-week guide dog training course.

The nicest part of this story is what brought them together. Their guide dogs, Rodd and Venice, formed a strong bond and would constantly want to be together.

As Claire says about the two dogs: “Our dogs were the class love story. Everyone used to joke about how Mark’s dog, Rodd, and my dog, Venice, were meant to be together.”

Recognising this, the couple then started to meet up to walk the two love-bird dogs and found that they themselves also fell in love.

Mark says: “much like our two guide dogs, we really are best friends and soul mates”.

The two got married last Saturday in England and their trusted companions were by their sides.

Whether it was a once off or you know it will happen again, here are some ways to deal with a cheating lover without risking your integrity.

1. Don’t show them your anger
Throwing things at him will only allow him to turn the tables.

2. Don’t retaliate
You need to remain the one on the high horse. That is important. He messed this up, not you, but don’t make it worse.

3. Do turn off your phone
Even if you do decide to give it another go, you need at least two weeks of space before any big decisions are made. Who knows, he might even pick it back up with her and you need to ensure that’s not the case before you go back.

4. Don’t drink
It can be tempting but drinking is a depressant and makes you do silly things. We all know that. And in a more vulnerable state, it’s a no-no.

5. Surround yourself with friends
Sometimes being alone can be, well, lonely. Especially after a difficult time with the person you spend most time with.

It’s one thing being engaged, it’s an entirely other thing being married.

Before you make the decision to walk up the aisle, there are some important factors to consider to ensure you are making the right decision for you.

1. Are you ready?
Are you ready to be attached to somebody for the rest of your life? To take on their family as well as your own?

2. Is he ready?
Is he doing this for the right reasons and not just because it is what he feels he should be doing at this stage in life?

3. Do you want the same things?
If he wants kids and you don’t, or vice versa, you may need to have a serious discussion before making any big life changes.

4. Is it realistic?
Do you have the means and maturity to be a married couple?

5. Do you want the marriage, or just the wedding?
Weddings are fun and everyone loves the attention on their big day, but are you ready for what comes after that too? We’re looking at you, Kim K.

6. Are you willing to be honest with this person for the rest of your life?
A marriage is based on love, honesty and communication, after all!

7. Is he the one for you?
Don’t ignore your heart. You’ll never regret following it.

8. Why did you say yes?
Look back to your engagement and see if the reasons you said yes are still applicable for saying I do.

It’s a difficult thing for anybody to deal with rejection, whether it be romantic or otherwise.

But somehow, matters of the heart cut deeper.

Here are some ways you can emerge from the rejection and hurt intact and ready to take on the world all over again.

1. Everything happens for a reason
If that person you love doesn’t love you, then it was never meant to be in the first place and there is a greater plan in store for you.

2. Talk about it
Talking about it will help, after all, a problem shared is a problem halved! Your best friend will always make you feel better and be a shoulder to cry on. She will also tell you awful he was anyway and that you’re better off! Even if it isn’t true.

3. It isn’t you
You might not be able to see it now but there may be a reason this person simply can’t be with you. Don’t assume it is you or the way you are.

4. Use the experience to grow
Everything is a learning curve, even when it hurts. Use the rejection to learn more about yourself; how you deal with things and how you would like or change the way you deal with things in the future.

5. Don’t allow yourself to be down for too long
Of course initial rejection is going to hurt for a while but you can’t allow yourself to wallow in questions of what if. Be strong and arise from the situation with confidence, a new outlook and hope for what might happen in the future.

We wonder what Kate Winslet’s hubby would have to say about her recent declaration that Leonardo DiCaprio is the love of her life.

Despite having walked down the aisle three times before, the actress said she will always have a special place in her heart for Leo.

Kate first met the heartthrob in 1997 when they starred together as fated lovers Rose and Jack in Titanic and were reunited as husband and wife for Revolutionary Road in 2008.

The actress’ current spouse Ned Rocknroll needn’t panic just yet as there has never been any romance between Kate and Leo.

When asked who she would choose between the leading man in her new movie Divergent Theo James’ character Four or Leo’s Jack, Kate didn’t even need to think about it.

“Leo is my love of my life, how could you possibly even ask me that question!” she said. “If I said Theo over Leo, he would never let me stay the night at his house ever again. And we can’t have that because that’s where I stay.”

A new survey carried out in the US by the Pew Research Center has found that this generation is different to those that went before in that we are not marrying.

In a survey of 1, 821 Millennials between the ages of 18-33, it was found that only 26% of them were married.

However it doesn’t mean we’re getting cold-hearted, just more sensible it would seem!

It was found that “most unmarried Millenials (69%)” DO want to get married but were held back by “a solid economic foundation”.

The survey also found that as a generation we are less linked to organised politics or religion and linked more to each other through social media.

We are also: “burdened by debt, distrustful of people, in no rush to marry – and optimistic about the future.”

So we have that going for us, which is nice.
