Good boy: This loyal dog guided Gardaí to his owner after a fall
An elderly man was given treatment by paramedics on Monday after he took a nasty fall, and was aided by his loyal dog.
The pensioner's quick-thinking dog Jack alerted Gardaí to his owner's whereabouts after he fell into a ditch, and refused to leave his side.
Jack checked on his owner as he was offered treatment in an ambulance, and showed his unlimited loyalty by staying right where the elderly man was at all times.
Man's best friend.
Elderly man out walking his dog last night near Portarlington fell into the ditch & couldn’t get out. Jack the Dog stayed by his side & showed Gardaí where he was. Even when ambulance arrived Jack wouldn’t rest unless he could see him! Owner and Jack home now pic.twitter.com/QqDNpB3CKr

After the man was unable to get up after the nasty tumble, his faithful pooch assisted him. He must have been relieved that his loyal companion was such a clever boy.
The heart-warming tweet quickly went viral and has received over 1,000 retweets and 8,900 likes.
Users online have been quick to praise Jack for his incredible actions, and we're so glad the Co. Laois owner is home safe and well. What a touching tale.
