Madame Tussauds

Twitter users have been left baffled by Madame Tussauds' wax figure of Beyoncé – and honestly, it's not hard to see why.

Originally unveiled in 2014, the waxwork was recently returned to the New York museum after a stint in Orlando, Florida.

After Madame Tussauds' announced the return of Queen Bey this week, Twitter users were quick to point out that the wax figure's skin tone appeared to be several shades lighter than that of Beyoncé's.

What do you think?

Many disappointed fans listed a number of other celebrities with whom the figure shared a greater likeness.

Speaking to the Press Association, a spokeswoman for Madame Tussauds said:

“At Madame Tussauds, our talented team of sculptors take every effort to ensure we accurately colour match all of our wax figures to the celebrity being depicted,” she said.

“Lighting within the attraction combined with flash photography may distort and misrepresent the colour of our wax figures which is something our sculptors are unable to account for at the production stage.”

And it looks like this isn't the first time sculptors have missed the mark.

Following Madame Tussauds' reveal, Twitter was flooded with other examples of wax museums failing to capture Bey's fierceness.

But really, this just proves what we all suspected – Beyoncé is one of a kind and impossible to recreate.

YouTube stars Zoella Suggs and Alfie Deyes have now got some serious star power.

The duo have joined the ranks of A-Listers like Nicki Minaj, Angelina Jolie and Beyonce with the unveiling of their wax figures at Madame Tussauds.

The social media stars have even had their likenesses positioned in a bedroom scene, much like the one where Zoella records her video blogs.

Between them, the couple have almost 18 million subscribers. Zoella,25, also launched her beauty range Tutti Fruity earlier this year at Superdrug in the UK.

She has also released a book, Girl Online– which tells the story of a teenage blogger and what happens when her blog goes viral.

Madame Taussads has a specific YouTube section where the two figures appear.

Zoella and Alfie (known as Zalfie to their online fans) have even donated their own clothes to the models to keep up with the reality feel.

Madame Tussauds general manager Ben Sweet said: “We are delighted to be working with Alfie and Zoe. It’s a first for the attraction and reflects just how huge these YouTube stars are.”

Zoella took to social media, naturally, to share a snap of herself and Alfie alongside their wax figures.

Arnold Schwarzenegger is currently promoting his new film Terminator Genisys, in which he stars alongside Emilia Clark (aka Khaleesi – for those GOT fans among you).

The film is set for release on June 25 and this prank – part brilliant, part terrifying – was all part of a promotional stunt.

Visitors to Madam Tussauds in Hollywood gathered around the Arnold ‘statue’ smiling and posing for pictures, but it turns out it was the real actor himself under make up and costumes.

He moved once people were close enough – resulting in serious freak-outs and generally everyone going nutso.

Meanwhile, Arnie, 67, comes across as remarkably down-to-earth. And as well as plugging the movie, the stunt also raises funds for an after-school programme for underprivileged children.

Kate Middleton has finally gotten a makeover – though it might not quite be what we all wanted.

Rather than the Duchess of Cambridge changing her dress sense, hair, or even make-up, it’s her waxwork in Madame Tussaud’s that been given the style treatment!

The new waxworks of both the Duchess and her husband, Prince William, were updated from the previous figures from their engagement photo back in 2011.

This time round, the couple are seen looking very fancy, with the Prince looking dapper in a tuxedo and the Duchess in a turquoise gown with her trademark hair pulled back from her face.

A super sweet waxwork of Katy Perry has travelled all the way from Australia to make its home at Madame Tussauds London.

The figure of the Roar singer is kitted out in one of the glitzy costumes from her California Dreams tour and will be based in the London museum over the Easter period to celebrate all things sweet.

Visitors will be treated to free sweets, while taking in the giant gummy bears, cupcakes and candy canes that are part of the delicious display.

Nicole Fenner, the museum’s publicity manager, said, “Katy’s amazing wax figure is paying us a visit from Madame Tussauds Sydney, and as it’s Easter we thought we’d pay tribute to some of the singer’s famous confectionary-themed performances.”

“We wanted to create something suitably fantastical and this candy-themed set is the perfect backdrop for her breath-taking outfit, which has been created especially for Madame Tussauds by Katy’s own costumers,” she said.
