It's a boy Johnny Vegas and his TV presenter wife Maia Dunphy!

Irish broadcaster Maia welcomed her new arrival four days ago, but took some time to adjust to life as a new mum before revealing the happy news on social media… and posting a brilliant photo update.

"Our new man has his Dad's habits already," she wrote, sharing a photo of a pair of baby Converse booties next to two adult pairs. "Tom Laurence arrived last Friday, at a civilised hour after lunch. 7lbs2." 

Johnny also celebrated the news on Twitter with a few trademark jokes, saying, "He's got his Mother's eyes & my taste in footwear" and referring to his newborn son as "7lb 2 ounces of nonstop pooing."

Journalist Maia also revealed she wouldn't be welcoming any "post baby-body" queries adding that anyone to mention the term would get "a slap." Good woman Maia.

The couple announced they were expecting their first child back in January, sharing a picture of their first scan with a pint of Guinness resting on its belly:

Thanking fans for their support today, Moone Boy star Johnny took to social media again to say, "Overwhelmed by your lovely response to our new arrival Twitter, thanks so much everyone. Will do my best to read through all your messages x"

We can't wait to see the first photo of little Tom.

RTÉ presenter Maia Dunphy showed she can give just as good as she gets when she poked some fun at her comedian husband Johnny Vegas via Twitter!

The What Women Want host announced the news of her first pregnancy last night by sharing a picture of her ultrasound with followers. Maia couldn't resist the chance to have a laugh at Johnny's expense though, by adding a miniature pint of Guinness to the image, sitting right on top of the little one's belly!

The image was captioned, "Well @JohnnyVegasReal , at least we know he's definitely yours…"

What a cute pair!

Maia and Johnny have been married for four years but have been living in separate countries for most of that time, with Johnny in the UK and Maia in Dublin. However the expectant mother recently made the big move to London to finally be closer to her husband before starting a family.

"It's always been the way so it's all we've ever known," said Maia of their long-distance marriage, "But it's getting harder, which is probably a good sign. If it was getting easier, you'd need to ask questions. But I'm really excited… The time is right."

While this is Maia's first child, Johnny already has a ten-year-old son with his ex-wife Kitty Donnelly.
