Now that we have entered November, it's time to start focusing in on what beauty products we need for the upcoming party season.
This year rather than focusing in on the lips, it's time for the eyes to shine and what better way to enhance them than with Max Factor’s new Excess Shimmer Eye Shadow.
The smart 3D silicone gel formula holds its high-impact metallic colour pigments for up to 12 hours so that you won’t have to worry about the colour fading.
The must-have gel shadows have an intense luminosity and smooth colour finish creating envious stares everywhere you go. The formula contains emollients that provide a silky smooth feel for easy application and blending and the high-impact colour pigments deliver sought after shine and intensity.
From muted mauves and cool bright blues to sepia shades and greys, there are endless glamour statements to play with and recreate using the Excess Shimmer Eye Shadows. The creamy gel is great for blending and creating depth; combine with the Excess Intensity Eyeliners for a really dramatic and defined look.
The new shimmer shadows are available in six different colours so you will no doubt find yourself mixing various shades together to create a whole new look.
For a daytime look, go for the more muted copper or bronze shade and crank things up a notch in the evening with the pink, crystal, pearl or onyx colours.
Made for women who want to achieve an on-trend metallic eye look without any hassle, these little tubs will become your go-to beauty essentials this winter.

If you’re a beauty and cosmetics fan, it can be a little difficult to keep on top of things.
When we get bogged down in BB creams, hyper-lengthening mascaras and youth-boosting serums, sometimes it’s best to take a step back and look at the products that have been quietly sitting in the background, doing their thing just as well as everyone else.
The reason these timeless products have stuck around so long is that they’re consistent, simple and reliable. Next time you’re looking to boost your beauty arsenal, why not try one of these favourites…
1. Pond’s Cold Cream Cleanser (€6.19)
There’s probably a pot of this sitting in your mum’s dresser – or even your nana’s. When your skin needs a hydration boost, Pond’s has your back. This simple cleaner is actually 50% moisturiser, meaning your skin will never feel dried out after using it, and it gets off waterproof mascara in seconds.
2. Astral Face & Body Moisturiser (€5.09)
This is a great night cream for repairing dry and damaged skin on the face – and a small amount in the morning goes a long way too. Melt it in your hands a little before applying to allow it to spread more easily. The dense formula is also great for stubborn dry areas like elbows and heels, though it could be a bit heavy for all-over use.
3. Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant (€32)
An investment you won’t regret! This iconic product is great for chapped lips, sunburnt skin, shaping eyebrows and adding shine to eyelids and cheeks. It’s also a great barrier against wind, central heating and air-conditioning. Again, this is good for use on the body too – it soothes and softens skin quickly.
4. Vaseline (€2.59)
Aside from saving dry lips, Vaseline has a whole list of other uses – from moisturising dry skin to helping heal small cuts and grazes. No make-up bag should be without this wonder product!
5. Carmex (€3.39)
The formula for this lip balm is much less oily than Vaseline so it’s a great option for chapped and sore lips – it will sink in rather than staying on the surface. The formula is available in a tub or a tube – choose the tube for some extra gloss!
6. Maybelline Great Lash Mascara (€7.49)
Every girl has their signature mascara, but this is a great option if you are in need of a quick fix that won’t break the bank. It’s sold in almost every pharmacy or supermarket, and it gives just the right amount of colour and volume. Why fix something that’s not broken?!
7. L’Oreal Elnett Satin Hairspray (from €5.39)
This spray comes in a range of strengths but they all brush out easily, meaning you can take your hair down without it looking like there’s a bag of straw sitting on your head. The original and best!
8. Johnson’s Baby Oil (€5.49)
Just one application of this a week is enough to keep your skin soft as a baby’s (the hint is in the name). Apply after a shower while your skin is still damp. This takes a good while to sink in so it’s definitely not one to slap on before a night out, but it’s the perfect body pampering treat for a cozy evening in!
9. Kiehl’s Crème de Corps (€31.50 for 250ml)
It’s a hefty price to pay for moisturiser, we agree, but this is one of those products that you won’t be able to live without once you’ve tried it. Kiehl’s aren’t shy about how good this stuff is either – the label claims that “continued use for one week will give you a skin texture heretofore unattainable.” That’s a bold statement – but we’re inclined to agree!
All prices may vary!
Let it never be said that too much make-up is a bad thing. This enterprising guy has managed to transform himself into loads of different female celebs using only cosmetics – and the results are startling!
Instagram user pochoy_29 began posting his transformations a few weeks ago and has attracted quite a big following, which is no surprise.
He could make a few bob being Kim Kardashian's lookalike we reckon (that's the real deal on the bottom right of course):
If there's going to be a Pretty Woman 2, we'd recommend him for the part for sure…
And of course, no drag queen is complete without a perfect Beyoncé look in her repetoire:
Amazing!
So somebody gave Millie Mackintosh a makeover and it’s making us want to run away screaming.
No, seriously, look what they did!

#TWDNOWTV Had a lot of fun with NOW TV getting transformed into a walker to celebrate the launch of #TheWalkingDead Season 5! What do you think?
Millie, former star of the hit reality TV show, Made in Chelsea, was made over into a zombie for the launch of The Walking Dead’s fifth season.
The star shared a before and (terrifying) after and captioned: “Had a lot of fun with NOW TV getting transformed into a walker to celebrate the launch of #TheWalkingDead Season 5! What do you think?”
We never thought we’d say this, Millie, but even the fringe was better than this – eek!

The men over a Buzzfeed had to chance to walk in a woman's shoes for a while, when the team brought a make-up artist in to turn them into pretty girls.
The results are amazing and the boys definitely have a newfound appreciation for what we go through.
Well, it’s about time men got the chance to appreciate all the effort we go to when getting ready for a night out! This video shows men trying make-up for the first time – including plucking and waxing – and as one man so elegantly puts it, “it's a huge pain in the ass”.
Well, he got that right! While these men are wearing full on lady make-up, word on the street is that some men are actually fond of a bit of discreet cover up too. There’s even a whole website made to sell make-up to men.
While we enjoyed watching these guys get a make-over, we’re not sure how we’d feel if they kept it up every day!
Brandon Flowers has always been a fan of a bit of gloss!
We’re jealous of celebs for many reasons – all their money, mostly, but also their make-up. Here we have chosen out biggest celebrity inspirations for each part of the make-up routine. Their make-up are what we aspire to on a Saturday night!
First off – foundation:
It’s got to be Emma Stone. She really knows how to perfect that ‘I’m wearing foundation but I don’t look like I’m wearing foundation’ thing. She’s pale too, so her flawless finish is within reach for us Irish gals, which is always good. Her make-up artist says she uses Chanel’s Perfection Lumière Velvet foundation – so if you’re looking for a way to spend some of your hard earned cash, then there you have it!
Next – the contour
Well we couldn’t not choose Kim K, now could we? She’s almost as famous for her expert contouring as she is for that sex tape. She even showed fans how she managed it. It’s all about light and shade people. Light and shade.
Eye envy
So this SHEmazing! writer may have a slight obsession with P!nk, but she does rock some pretty cool eye make-up from time to time. Our teenage selves went through so much eyeliner trying to perfect this cat eye look. Now, we have resigned ourselves to the fact that we will always just end up looking like we’ve been punched in both eyes. Someday, maybe!
Lovely lips
Rita Ora really knows how to rock a red lip! Apparently she uses Diptique lip balm to keep her lips soft, lines them with MAC Red lip pencil, and then fills it all in with MAC Red Lipstick and MAC Lip Pigment in crimson.
Brow beauty
Not happy with nabbing Ryan Gosling all to herself, Eva Mendez is also the proud owner of the best eyebrows in tinsel town. Check out that arch! Now THERE is a girl who didn’t over pluck in high school!
Is there anything worse than waking up fifteen minutes before you have to be out the door? By the time you brush your teeth, wash your face, find your clothes and find your bag, you’re not left with a whole lot of time to dedicate to putting on your make-up. Do you a) say to hell with it and rush out the door, or b) take on the challenge of painting your entire face in three minutes flat?
Well, if your answer was b, then we admire your dedication. And just for you, we’ve got make-up artist and model Tara O’Farrell to give us her tips on how to do your face in a flash.
The clock is ticking!
Three minutes to go…
Tara says the key to good make up is having a good base to work with, so make sure your face is totally clean “and then move on to the base. This ensures a nice clean finish to your make up.”
Two minutes to go…
Time to put on the foundation – but which is better? Mineral or liquid? “I personally wear mineral foundation most days. I have normal to oily skin so it suits me. I tend to use liquid foundation on my clients though mainly Buff HD foundation and Kevyn Aucoing Sensual Skin enhancer. These both photograph beautifully.”
If you opt for the liquid foundation, is it faster to use a brush or your fingers? Tara says a brush is always best: “I always use a brush, Blank Canvas do a great HD brush called F20 it gives a really flawless finish and doesn’t take long to blend.”
One minute to go…
You’re on the home stretch now – but you can practically hear the bus coming down the road, and if you don’t get your eyes done quick, you’re going to miss it! What’s next?! “Cream eye shadows and eye shadow crayons are handy if you are on the go, they don’t require blending as much as powders and one colour is usually enough. Team that with two coats of mascara and you are good to go!”
Phew! Surely there’s time for a cuppa after all that? No? You better run!

All women are guilty of making some style mistakes from time to time – we're only human after all!
Here are the mistakes we'll make when it comes to style and beauty during out lifetime:
1. You Try Too Hard
A short skirt, falsies and a heavy tan do not necessarily mean you have it going on. Sometimes less is more.
2. You Put On Too Much Make Up
Please, please, remember the golden rule: heavy eye make up means natural lips, dark lippie means light on the eyes!
3. Curling Your Hair Every Single Day
Think of hair's future, please!
4. Uncomfortable Clothes
Those hotpants are not comfy, just admit it. Throw on some sweats and come join the rest of us.
5. Tangoed
