With Harry Potter makeup brushes casting a spell over social media, it seems there is huge demand for movie themed cosmetics.

And now the incredible people at Storybook Cosmetics – aka the geniuses who brought the Patronus palette to life – have set their sights on one of our all-time favourite flicks.

Last week, the brand used Instagram to showcase its ideas for a Mean Girls makeup palette and, so far, the Internet reacted with a squeal, speed tagging and pretty much every Regina George quote you can think of.

On Wednesdays, we wear  Mean Girls Makeup.  (Tentative idea, all depends on licensing )

Dressed in Burn Book packaging, the palette would feature cleverly named eyeshadow shades including ‘Wednesday’, ‘Army Pants’, ‘So Fetch’, ‘Mouse…Duh’, ‘You Can’t Sit With Us’, ‘ESPN or Something’, ‘Glen Coco’ and ‘Flip Flops’.

According to Refinery29 the project is still its infancy, but since Storybook Cosmetics are seeking licencing permission to create the Burn Book palette, we’re hopeful that this dream will soon become a reality.

She’s already earned her Victoria Secret wings, walked for the likes of Chanel and Versace and now Stella Maxwell has been named the newest face of Max Factor.

The 25-year-old model – whose parents are from Belfast – will join Candice Swanepoel as a global ambassador for the cosmetic giant.

Speaking of the deal which will see her make her Max Factor debut as part of the brand’s 2017 campaign, Stella said: “Max Factor is such an iconic makeup brand and I love experimenting with makeup, so becoming the newest ambassador is a dream come true.”

“I remember stealing Max Factor products from my sister when I first discovered makeup and now, more than ever, I rely on the products for whatever my hectic schedule demands,” she continued.

Earlier this year the stunning blonde was named 2016’s hottest woman by Maxim magazine.

It’s already the go-to site for Saturday night style, but it seems Missguided has plans to take over another sector of online shopping.

The brand – which hit headlines last week for selling controversial Brangelina breakup tees – has released a new line of beauty products which includes, among other things, an eyeshadow palette, contour kit and nail polish set.

For nights in, there’s also glittering bubble bath, fizzy bath bombs and pamper-focused gift sets.

In true Missguided style, the range features holographic packaging, is affordably priced and involves plenty of unicorn references.

Time to start filling that virtual cart!

Every makeup fanatic knows the sadness that comes with smudging a brand new product for the first time.

But thankfully that shameful feeling could soon be confined to the past as the cosmetic gods have finally gifted us with magnetic eyeshadow.

MAC’s Spellbinder shadows have been magnetised to prevent eyeshadow fallout and will keep the pigments looking picture perfect in their pots no matter how many times you use them.

As demonstrated in the following clip, magnets beneath the product allow the shadow to simply be pushed back into its original wave shape after use so that it always retains its untouched look.

A spokesperson for the brand told The Huffington Post that the Spellbinder range will be available in the UK from December 1, but will only run for a limited period of eight weeks.

The shadows – which come in cobalt blue, cool teal, warm olive, vivid emerald, deep amethyst, rich chocolate, smoky quartz and metallic bronze shades – will go on sale in the US later this month.

She may have 24-hour access to a super talented glam squad, but that doesn’t mean Kim Kardashian West can’t do her own makeup.

In a very casual video which was filmed while Kim was in Toronto for Kanye’s Saint Pablo tour, the uncharacteristically rushed mother of two demonstrates for fans her personal makeup routine.

Speaking constantly throughout, the reality star asks her followers questions like “Does anyone else put foundation all over their lips” and “Do you guys listen to music when you get ready?”

While Kim’s routine appears relatively simple – well, at least compared to the full blown transformation sessions she has with her MUAs – it is by no means cheap.

Throughout the nine minute video, she names products like the $240 La Mer Perfecting Treatment and cosmetic brands like Giorgio Armani and Chanel.

But while Kim’s tutorial is a little frantic and pretty pricey, it certainly shows that this Kardashian has got skills.

We all know the scenario; we’re running late for work, college or just coffee with the girls when we try and slap some makeup on our faces in an effort to avoid looking like a character from The Walking Dead.

In our frantic state we drop the lipstick we hoped would fool people into thinking we give two s**ts, and it slides right down the white top we decided to wear on today of all days.

You may think that blouse is doomed to a life of imperfection but with these simple tips you’ll be able to erase any spills or smudges your makeup may have caused.

Foundation

If you’re using an oil-free foundation, try rubbing some shaving cream into the material.

If the stain is proving more stubborn, try adding a little alcohol to the mix.

Lipstick

Lipstick is made with oils so make sure to use an oil-based cleaner to remove to stain. Liquid soaps to clean grease can be the perfect solution.

With a tissue and a small dollop of soap, blot the stain to lift the colour. Spray a little water (don’t soak) and let it sit with the soap doing its magic for 10 minutes and rub away with a clean towel.

Mascara

Using an oil-free makeup remover, blot the area until the stain is lifted.

This simple trick should even work on waterproof mascara.

Nail polish

Nail polish remover is the answer to your prayers is you accidently spill some polish.

However, it can sometimes lift dyes out of your clothes so try a testing it on a smaller, less noticeable area first.

If it is successful, then make sure to throw your clothes in the washing machine straight after.

If remover is a no-go, then try hairspray instead.

She may have quit the reality show which made her famous, but it looks like Lucy Watson isn’t about to disappear from the spotlight anytime soon.

While often the topic of controversial tweets, the former Made in Chelsea star has been receiving widespread praise online for her latest venture – a makeup tutorial which emphasises the use of products which have not been tested on animals.

With the help of her makeup artist Summer, the 26-year-old vegan demonstrated for fans that it is possible to create a smoky eye look using only cruelty-free products, although she was quick to point out that Summer’s brushes we not necessarily so.

So far fans have been very impressed with Lucy’s efforts with one writing: “I’ve bought loads of stuff from your videos…all cruelty free…Opened my eyes!  If we don’t need to use products that test on animals then why should we buy them?”

While another said:  “Just watched it.  Love the look!  I love those eyeshadow colours.”

While we’re the first to admit that our caramel infused coffee obsession has gone a little far, there’s no way we would have thought of making Starbucks scented makeup.

But now that such a thing is actually on the market, there’s no denying we are more than a little curious.

According to Teen Vogue, the innovative people at Too Faced cosmetics have officially launched their first range of Starbucks scented products.

As part of their Christmas collection the quirky makeup brand has released a set of three palettes which smell just like drinks from the famous coffee chain’s seasonal menu.

The Grand Hotel Café set contains 18 eyeshadows, two blushers and a bronzer which are divided across three sets of Peppermint Mocha, Gingerbread Coffee and Eggnog Latte aromas.

Since each piece of makeup is named after a coffee or Christmas reference – and as the whole lot comes in at €46 – this kit could make a pretty cool present for the coffee lover in your life.

There’s nothing like a good YouTube transformation to set the mind boggling, and since we’ve already had Lizzie McGuire, Cara Delevingne and baby Drake this summer, it was only a matter of time before someone figured out how to recreate Kylie Jenner’s face.

In a recent upload by South Korean YouTuber Pony Makeup, Hye-Min Park uses some badass makeup skills to turn herself into the popular reality star.

While the transformation was by no means easy – we’re talking around 25 products and God knows how much time – it is a true testament to the transformative power of makeup.

There’s only one thing more sickening than people seeing a dodgy photo of you and that’s when that stomach flipping pic is permanently preserved in your final year yearbook.

But while many of us live to regret not asking for a reshoot on photo day, one 17-year-old New Yorker decided he would take matters into his own hands.

Unhappy with his potential yearbook picture, James Charles from Bethlehem, New York, retook his senior year photos to make sure everyone remembered just how on fleek his highlighting skills really are.

The aspiring makeup artist told BuzzFeed News that on the day of the original yearbook photoshoot the available lighting did not do his makeup justice – hate that – and so James decided to organise a shoot of his own.

Desperately in need of an “iconic” senior year picture, the teen quickly sourced a photography company who would allow him to use a ring light – a tool used by makeup artists and bloggers to ensure photos really do their skills justice – and had the photos retaken.

James was so impressed with the final results he took to Instagram to share his experience.

In a post which has since received almost 100,000 likes and nearly 5,000 comments, he wrote: “So I retook my senior photos & brought my ring light with me so my highlight would be poppin.  I love being extra.”

A tweet about the incident received a similar reaction, with even former Disney star Zendaya coming out to celebrate the move.  She retweeted James’ story with the caption “you win”.

If James’ work is good enough for Zendaya, it is definitely good enough for us!

Fame and fortune may come with many perks, but not being able to venture past your own front door without undergoing an hour’s worth of intensive contouring isn’t one of them.

And while many celebrities give in to the superficial expectations of their respective industries, earlier this year singer-songwriter Alicia Keys chose to ditch the slap in favour of a freer life.

The 35-year-old’s decision – the details of which she outlined in a post on Lenny Letter – initially received widespread praise, but unfortunately for Alicia – and women in general – she has since been subject to a lot criticism online.

On Sunday night the best-selling author stunned in a bohemian style full-length dress at the MTV Video Music Awards ceremony in New York but despite looking amazing, the star’s critics quickly came out in force to shame her makeup-free face.

Examples of the comments written about at the singer include: “I understand Alicia Keys wants to do the ‘no makeup’ thing but baby girl at least get some concealer and lashes.”

And: “Fill in the brows and a little bit of tinted lip balm.  And she’ll be straight.”

Meanwhile, the mother of two was also accused of straight up lying about the fact she went au naturel.

One Twitter user wrote: “Alicia Keys is wearing makeup.  JUST SAYING”.  While another said: “We all know you wear bb cream, sis.  Also, how does no makeup correlate to this haggard look you’re running around with.”

Yesterday the American activist addressed her critics on social media by sharing a photo of her makeup free self blowing a kiss at the camera along with the caption: “Ya’ll, me choosing to be makeup free doesn’t mean I’m anti-makeup.  Do you!”

So far the post has been retweeted 58,000 times and has received 100,000 likes.

It’s pretty clear the No One singer is more than happy with her new beauty regime as she has already vowed to maintain her natural look for the upcoming series of The Voice.

You go girl!
