Is anyone else guilty of forking out fifty quid on an eyeshadow palette, because you just really like one or two shades?

Well, same.

But let's get serious for a momento – that is SUCH a waste of money (but we can't help it sometimes!)

Anyway, this got us thinking about palettes in general, and we began a hunt to find the best eyeshadow palettes out there – that we'd actually use.

Yep, we have found a wonderful edit of palettes that tick all the boxes – filled with colours we love, and actually want to use.

We will no longer be blinded by the excitement of a shiny new palette, only to find that the colours are actually not for us!

Have a gawk, and let us know what you think:

1. Naked Heat by Urban Decay

2. Pro Eyes Tin in Glam by Profusion Cosmetics

3. BIG sexy eye kit by Benefit

4. I DIVINE Eyeshadow Palette in All Night Long by Sleek MakeUp.

Makeup can be pricey, and despite pay day having just passed, no one wants to fork out a fortune to create the latest beauty looks.

Luckily, Boots is proving to be a bit of a makeup maven’s saviour with their latest three for two offer on in-store cosmetics.

While it may be an absolute bargain, Boots haven’t skimped on brands, with high-street favourites Bourjois, Rimmel, Soap & Glory, Max Factor and many more included in the deal.

Maybelline Master Strobing liquid – €9.99, Rimmel Exaggerate Eye Liner – €7.49 , L’Oreal Paris Color Riche Lipstick Red Passion – €10.49

Whatever the occasion, it’s fun to play around with makeup.

Dinner with the girls is always a good idea, and so is a classic Hollywood look.

Why not bring some glamour to the table this weekend with a killer red lip, courtesy of L’Oreal?

Adding a touch of sophistication to any ensemble, this Rimmel liner is ideal for those with shakier hands, as the sturdy liner nib helps keep messy lines to a minimum.

Finish off with a Hollywood highlight  in the form of Maybelline’s Master Strobing liquid highlighter and you’ll be ready to take snaps of yourself rather than your food.

Barry M Dazzle Dust Eye Shadow -€6.99, Soap & Glory Love at blush Highlight & Sculpt Stick- €11.00, Sleek MakeUP Dip It Glitter – €6.99

Festival fever is in the air, but no one wants to splash the cash on makeup that has a high risk of getting crumpled or lost at a camping event.

Thankfully, Boots offer is giving us major bang for our buck as well as keeping us up to date with festival makeup trends.

Glitter, glitter and more glitter is the way to go, which is why the Barry M dazzle dust is literally perfect for creating a myriad of sparkly eye looks.

More of a subtle makeup kind of girl? The Sleek glitter eyeliner is the perfect way to add a slight hint of sparkle, a festival update on your usual makeup routine.

Lastly, we need something to distract from those sleepy eyes, so a sculpting cheek stick will be seriously necessary to lift a tired face by day three of your festival of choice.

Max Factor Bronzer – €12.99, Rimmel Wake Me Up Make Up Foundation 30ml SPF 15 – €11.49, Bourjois’ Little Round Pot Nude Edition eye shadow – €9.99

New makeup is a holiday essential, and with the drizzle plaguing the country this weekend, we’re dreaming of far way places.

Whether you’re heading to the sun or on a city break, a foundation with built-in SPF is an essential to protect the skin.

Bronzer is the perfect way to fake a glow before you head to the sun, and will help you maintain your glowy look on your return.

To compliment your new bronzey hue, a gold eyeliner will pop against sun kissed skin, and with the Boots 3 for 2 offer, you won’t have to worry about splurging on products suited purely to summer.

Seventeen BB Magic Blemish Balm – €9.49, Revlon® ColorBurst™ Lacquer Balm – €11.49, Soap & Glory Love at First Blush Multi-Shade Blushing Powder 7.5g – €15.00

Sometimes a no-fuss-no-frills look is all we want on a lazy day.

Seriously, we have major respect for girls who manage to perfectly apply their faces everyday, but we just don’t have the commitment or the skill.

For a five minute face, all you really need are three products.

A brightening BB cream can be lightly applied with feathery fingertip strokes, and a lip liner chubby stick can create a moisturising swathe of lip colour in a mere second.

The Soap & Glory Love at First Blush Multi-Shade Blushing Powder is super versatile, with highlight and blush shades that can be used as eye shadow and bronzer when faffing around with extra products just doesn’t seem appealing.

Max factor Masterpiece Nude Palette 03 Rose Nudes – €19.99, Sleek MakeUp Brow Kit – €11.99, Rimmel London Sculpting Palette by Kate – €8.99

A big girls night out with the squad is the perfect time to get experimental with makeup.

From a dramatic smoky eye to a colour pop on the lid, this Max Factor Masterpiece Nude Palette has all the essential shades you could need to create an individual eye look on all your gal pals.

To keep those brows neat and tidy, snap up the Sleek MakeUp Brow Kit in the delightful 3 for 2 deal to create Instagram-worthy brows without the fuss.

Kim Kardashian-worthy contouring is the way to go for chiselled cheekbones, and a face triad is a simple way to achieve the look.

The amazing 3 for 2 offer is available in all Boots stores nationwide, but you better head in this weekend, as the offer is only running until July 4.

We’re prepared to have some majorly bulging makeup bags.

Coco Chanel once said "if you feel sad, add more lipstick and attack," and this is a mantra we can ABSOLUTELY get down with.

Well, with that in mind, we started to think about our favourite lippies, and what colours we especially love to wear in the summer (when the sun actually decides to shine.)

I dug through my makeup bag, and talked to the other lovely ladies here at Shemazing, and came up with a wonderful list of lipsticks that are perfect for summer.

Let us know your thoughts!

Whether you're a fully fledged MUA, or just an occasional dabbler in the world of beauty, chances are you've probably got a Real Techniques brush floating around your makeup bag.

The brushes, made by Youtuber sisters, Sam and Nic, are some of the most affordable on the market and have quickly become a favourite among makeup nerds everywhere.

Well, lucky for us, the brand are about to launch a brand new collection and we could not be more excited.

Inspired by blue squirrels, the Real Techniques' PowderBleu collection promises to be the softest yet.

The 6-piece collection includes a Soft Complexion Brush, Soft Powder Brush, Soft Finishing Brush, Soft Shadow Brush, Soft Kabuki Brush and a Plush Powder Puff.

The brushes have been designed to mimic squirrel hair, but don't worry, no animals were harmed during the manufacturing process.

Sam and Nic have used FauxBleu™ technology and synthetic hairs to create the super soft new range.

An you haven't even heard the best part.

The PowderBleu brushes have been made to work specifically with powder products, meaning that their soft touch will provide flawless application whilst keeping the makeup underneath intact.

Hallelujah!

The brushes will hit Boots stores across the country this July, and will be available to order directly from the Real Techniques website.

Rainbow highlighter probably isn't the first thing we'd be reaching for on a day-to-day basis, but when the new beauty product started going viral across social media at the beginning of this year, we were obsessed with the hued highlight.

Beauty junkies hailed the rainbow highlighter as the best way to get closer to your inner unicorn, as tonnes of Etsy shops and boutique beauties started creating their own versions.

PS… Rainbow Highlighter, €4.00

Now, Penneys has stepped up to the plate with their own offering in the form of the PS…Rainbow Highlighter.

We spotted this little number while browsing around Penneys in Dundrum (see what else we found over on Snapchat at shemazingie) and we just had to have it.

First things first, the highlight comes in at a very reasonable €4.00, so experimenting with this festival look definitely won't break the bank.

However, you better get into Penneys ASAP, because when we went, there were only a couple of pans of rainbow fairy dust left.

  GIF

When swatched, the highlight proved that it was shimmery and pigmented, which left us thinking that the six rainbow shades might be more suited as eye shadows than anything else.

Our main prerogative was to test whether this highlighter is actually wearable, and to see what it looks like on top of our usual face of makeup.

We were seriously hoping that the dazzle dust would look cool rather than gimmicky, but at the same time we wanted to see exactly how rainbow-esque the highlight applied.

So, we used a PS… fan brush from Penneys to apply the highlight in one swoop, creating a rainbow line of highlight across the cheekbone.

While definitely not for everyday wear (or maybe it is, you do you boo) the look was pretty, colourful and shimmery, and an excellent pared back alternative to glittery festival make up (we're still finding glitter particles in our makeup bags from Forbidden Fruit).

  GIF

We had seen some YouTube tutorials about the original rainbow highlighter, which suggested blending all the shades together on a fluffy brush to create a seamless single shade.

Using a Morphe Tapered Duo brush, we gave the pan a swirl and buffed it along the cheekbone, creating a dewy, golden highlight when all the shades were blended together.

A post shared by The SMSW Store (@thesmswstore) on

The effect was subtle and glowy, the complete opposite to the rainbow-striped look we created using a fan brush.

Our verdict? Whether you want a muted, golden highlight or a dramatic rainbow festival look, this €4.00 bargain could see you through summer.

Plus, think of all the potential eye makeup looks.

Get excited, beauty lovers!

Urban Decay's Naked Palette is a cult makeup item, and the nude selection and its sequels the Naked 2 and Naked 3 have become makeup bag must-haves.

Now, Urban Decay is releasing a brand new Naked Palette, and this one is hotter than the rest.

The Naked Heat palette is coming for those of us who live for a warm, cranberry eye.

The palette has a few traditional (albeit warm-toned) nudes in the mix, but it is unique to the rest thanks to the reds, pinks, peaches and cranberry shades it features on its spectrum.

The 12 'amber-hued neutrals' are ideal for a sexy summer eye look, and we can even see some of the mid tones working as gorgeous blushers.

The amazing new palette launches officially on June 30, so we'll be saving our pennies up for the end of the month!

OK, so you're just about to finish work, your make-up has been on point all day, and your mate texts you: 'drinks later?'.

Obviously the answer is yes, you look great and it'd be a shame to keep that perfectly winged eyeliner to yourself, but there's just one problem – you probably need to shower.

Every woman knows the devastation of taking off a killer makeup look before it's served its time, but now one women has found an ingenious solution to the problem – wear goggle in the shower (duh!).

22-year-old Lauren recently took to Tumblr to demonstrate her exciting hack.

The photos quickly went viral with many praising Lauren for her innovation.

Speaking to Buzzfeed News, she said: “It literally blew up overnight. Like, the next morning after posting it I had like 5,000 notes.”

“Then the next week I had 22,000 notes, and now I have almost 100,000 on the original post,” she added.

“My hair is greasy and by the end of the day I had my makeup on and I wanted to go out with my friends, but I'd be dead before I wasted another pair of lashes and 45 minutes blending eyeshadow,” she said.

It seems Lauren's post struck a cord with her fellow Tumblr users, with many revealing that this is a struggle they often face.

We have to admit, we are super impressed.

Mean Girls is a piece of iconic pop culture whose legacy will never die so long as the term 'so fetch' is ingrained into our psyche.

A number of months ago, we reported that the legends over at Storybook Cosmetics were planning on seeking the licencing to go ahead with a Mean Girls makeup palette, and our teenage dreams of being Spring Fling queen seemed to be in sight.

Now, the palette is officially coming to a makeup bag near you, according to the SBC Instagram account.

A post shared by @storybookcosmetics on

In a previous post 8 months ago, the brand shared a snap of a concept sketch showing the possible plans for the palette.

Dressed in Burn Book packaging, the palette would feature cleverly named eye shadow shades including ‘Wednesday’, ‘Army Pants’, ‘So Fetch’, ‘Mouse…Duh’, ‘You Can’t Sit With Us’, ‘ESPN or Something’, ‘Glen Coco’ and ‘Flip Flops’.

In more good news, the palette will now reportedly include 12 shades as opposed to the originally planned eight, which means that more Mean Girls-themed names and shades are en route.

'We are incredibly excited to collaborate with Paramount Licensing on Mean Girls. We're total Mean Girls fanatics, and this eye shadow palette is one of the first palettes we dreamed up!' co-founder Missy Maynard told PopSugar.

'When we secured licencing for it we were ecstatic!'

Now to dust off our army pants and flip flops…

There has been a contouring craze sweeping Instagram since Kim Kardashian introduced the technique to the world, but now the tools used to apply the look are getting out of hand.

We thought we'd seen it all when one MUA used the heel of a Louboutin shoe to get that sharp AF cheekbone shadow, and when that girl used her boyfriends' testicles to blend her foundation, we knew we'd had enough internet for one day.

Now, Instagram famous MUA James Charles has introduced another unique tool for creating the perfect contour.

A post shared by James Charles (@jamescharles) on

The world is obsessed with fidget spinners at the moment, and there isn't a primary school-aged kid in the land who doesn't have one of these nifty little toys stashed in their pencil case at this very moment.

As well as being a distracting toy for the under-12 set, the contraption is apparently ace when it comes to blending a contour and highlight, as demonstrated by James.

A post shared by James Charles (@jamescharles) on

The MUA used the swiftly spinning sides to meld his under eye highlight, contour his nose and create sculpted cheekbones.

We're kind of tempted to try the tool for ourselves…
