Is there anything better than a lil bag of delicious Malteasers? 

Whether you munch them, or eat the chocolate off them first, and then devour the malty goodness – they're just excellent.

And as much as we ADORE the classic Malteaser, we also love the bars, bunnys and ice cream.

So with that, we are proud to inform you that there's a new member of the Malt family – the Malteasers Buttons.

I know, it's pretty overwhelming. 

We first saw these delicious beauties on Instagram, when Productsinstore shared an image of the new product.

The account stated that the new Maltesers buttons will be out next month in the UK.

This peaked my curiosity, so I decided to get in touch with my good pals over at Malteasers. 

It was GOOD NEWS.

"We’re very excited to confirm that Maltesers Bites will be launching exclusively in Ireland this summer!"

Not half excited as we are, let me tell you!

I have no other information for you right now, but I promise once these babies are launched, I will do a very large taste test.

I reckon these may become a new Irish fave!

Mars Chocolate have recalled a number of popular products across the UK and Ireland due to the possible presence of Salmonella.

The company issued the precautionary recall after it discovered that some of the ingredients used to make it's chocolate bars may have been contaminated.

The following products are effected in Ireland:

Galaxy Counters: Product code: AW99G; Batch codes: 720B1SLO00, 720C1SLO00; Best before date: 13.05.2018

Maltesers Teasers: Product code: AX46E; Batch codes: 7720C1SLO00,720D2SLO00; Best before date: 13.05.2018

A spokesperson for the confectionery company said, “Through our routine testing, we have detected the potential presence of Salmonella from the ingredients used to make our chocolate.”

“As a precaution, we are voluntarily recalling certain GALAXY® Smooth Milk Chocolate bars, GALAXY® MINSTRELS® and GALAXY® COUNTERS® and TEASERS® bars.”

“We are working closely with the relevant food safety authorities and our customers to ensure that the affected products are no longer available for purchase.”

“If you have one of the products listed above, you should not eat it. Please keep the product and contact our Consumer Care team to arrange return and reimbursement.”

Consumers who may have purchased these products are urged to get in touch with customer care at 1890 812 315 or on www.mars.ie/contact.

So realistically, all we ever really want on Valentine's Day is chocolates. Maybe flowers, but definitely chocolates. 

If you're still totally clueless about what to get your other half, best friend or beloved family member this V-Day, then one inexpensive option is a big old box of personalised Malteasers.

The confectionery company is helping us all with our dating game by creating this unique concept, which allows you to write a message to the object of your affection on the box.

Suggested messages include "will you be me mot?" and "you're only stunnin'" but we'll leave the creative penmanship up to you. Just keep it clean, kids. 

If you're wondering how to get your hands on these romantic treats, all you have to do is visit a Malteasers Personalisation Station in any participating Dunnes Stores.

Knowing that we'd leave buying Valentine's gifts until the last minute, the stations are being set up over the weekend. 

On Friday February 9 there will be a station in Dunnes Stores Cornelscourt.

On Saturday February 11 Ashleaf Crumlin, Kilnamanagh, Tallaght, Parkway, Dungarven and Maynooth Dunnes Stores are all participating.

And for the major procrastinators, on Sunday February 12 the stations will be popping up in Bishopstown Court and Blanchardstown.

If you've spent much of January bemoaning the number of Celebrations you ploughed through over the festive season, you're (obviously) not alone.

But in our defence, we honestly feel we wouldn't have eaten our way through so many of the less popular ones if we'd been supplied with a larger quanity of our favourite one – the Malteaser Teaser.

Generally considered the holy grail of the Celebrations box, the Malteaser variety is your only man, and it looks like Mars have finally cottoned on to this one.

Doing their bit for mankind, the confectionary company have released – wait for it – a box of nothing BUT Malteaser Teasers,

Yes, you read that right.

Hitting the shelves in Tesco, the retailer is, according to reports, the only place you can get your hands on them.

So we'd advise you to move quick before you're left wrestling for the last box with… well… us.

Don't say we didn't warn you.
