Growing up in Ireland means you quote Father Ted at the drop of a hat, spit the lyrics to Maniac 2000 with little to no prompting and possess an intimate knowledge of every nook and cranny in Coppers, right?

If that describes you and the crew, then you may need to brace yourself for this one because everyone’s favourite Dublin haunt is about to go international, and they need you (your rap skills and your Craggy Island trivia) to go with them.

For the third successive year on tour, Copper Face Jacks is descending upon the skiing resort of Arinsal in Andorra, the man responsible for Maniac 2000 is heading with them, and the inaugural Father Ted Ski Fest is kicking off.

We know, we’re already making our lovely lady costumes in anticipation.

If you want in on a week-long event which involves live bands, mountain parties, a lip sync battle, and sledding, you need to clear your diary between March 5 and 12, and book your spot here from tomorrow morning at 9am.

For €899 pps, you will get return flights from Dublin to Toulouse, return transfers and 7 nights accommodation in a choice of 5 hotels.

And it doesn’t stop there, ladies.

The price also includes ski lessons, equipment hire, a lift pass, a limited edition ‘money can’t buy’ Copper’s Irish Rugby Jersey and your all-important Copper Face Jacks wristband which will guarantee you access to all of the amazing Coppers events throughout the week!

Excuse us while we count down the days to March 5.

Maniac 2000 has been knocking around for a whopper 16 years now, and we've lost count of how many 21sts/debs/weddings we've heard it played at.

But according to Mark McCabe, the Irish DJ who released the song way back in 2000, there's one crucial line that people STILL sing incorrectly.

"She's a craic, she's a craic, she's a maniac"?

Yeah, apparently that line is actually "She'll attack, she'll attack, she's a maniac."

Who knew?! Well, Mark did, it seems. He dropped the bombshell to PJ Gallagher over the weekend, as the pair drove around Dublin singing and generally having gas craic as part of the Carpool Karaoke-esque #LidlLipSync campaign.

"That's the line people always get wrong," he says. "What's 'she's a craic'?"

Removed from the joys of Electric Picnic for another year, tired and weary souls are now creeping back to a festival-free reality.

The memories will, of course, live on – and no more so than the 90s Power Party area, which over three days thrilled and delighted thousands of fans of the bygone decade.

Hosted by Electric Ireland, revellers were brought back in time – to a time that may not have boasted Wi-Fi, but instead could champion treasures such as Friends; Dawson’s Creek; Buffy; Clueless, and The Matrix.

It was the era that gave rise to Saved ByThe Bell; to Tupac Shakur, and Michael Jordan – not to mention Power Rangers, and Alanis Morissette’s not-so ironic Ironic.

Nope, it’s hardly surprising that the 90s Power Party stage was pretty much the talk of EP.

With the stage kicking off with 2 Unlimited on Friday, Mark McCabe conquered Stradbally with his throw-back rendition of Maniac on Saturday night. Then the Vengaboys wrapped it all up yesterday.

If you missed it, and sadly not everyone could bear witness to such iconic Nineties-tinged performances, Electric Ireland has kindly stuck the best bits in a 2-minute-long video.

Suffice to say we’ll be watching this on loop for some time…

All of you heading to Electric Picnic this summer, we are SO jealous of you!

It has just been announced that festival goers are in for a serious flash back in a few weeks as iconic 90's artists The Vengaboys and DJ Mark McCabe are set to perform.

This festival flashback will include songs such as 'Maniac 2000', 'The Venga Bus' and 'Boom Boom Boom' and will surely make the crowd go wild!

These acts have been unveiled as part of the #90sPowerParty at this year's Electric Picnic and has fans devastated that they didn't get tickets on time.

On the Saturday of EP Mark McCabe will perform Ireland's fourth biggest-selling single of all time 'Maniac 2000'.

Speaking about the festival, Mark said: “I am delighted to be part of Electric Ireland’s 90's Power Party at Electric Picnic this year. I haven’t played Maniac live for a very long time, so I am really excited about it.

"Hopefully the crowd will come along to play their part in the audience participation moments of the song.  The 90's Power Party will be a fantastic addition to the Picnic, offering festival goers a full immersion in what will be the ultimate 90's experience.”
