Mark Zuckerberg

When The Social Network was released back in 2010, it became one of the most talked about films of the decade.

A movie about Facebook seemed ridiculous at the time, but then major writers, producers and actors were signed on, and it essentially exploded.

David Fincher was roped in to direct the movie, and Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross found fame as bona fide Oscar-winning soundtrack maestros.

AP Entertainment recently interviewed screenwriter Aaron Sorkin, who began writing the film back in 2005 and went on to win the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay for his efforts.

According to Sorkin, the world is ready for a sequel considering the sheer amount of controversy the website has caused over the last nine years.

"First of all, I know a lot more about Facebook in 2005 than I do in 2018," began Sorkin when questioned about the idea of revisiting the infamous film.

"But I know enough to know that there should be a sequel," he joked.

"A lot of very interesting dramatic stuff has happened since the movie ends with settling the lawsuit of the Winklevoss twins and Eduardo Saverin."

We're pretty sure you could write a dozen films about all the Facebook drama- Mark Zuckerberg ended up testifying data protection in front of CONGRESS, for God's sake.

The scandals featuring leaked user data, interference in the US Presidential election in 2016 and Russia's cyber-hacking has plagued the CEO since 2016.

As well as hate groups being allowed to stay on the website, many are arguing that content restriction is not strict enough, or else discriminates against minority groups.

Aaron Sorkin claims that Scott Rudin, producer of The Social Network, is vying for a follow-up film, and we're SO on board.

"I've gotten more than one email from him with an article attached saying; 'Isn't it time for a sequel?'"

Um, YAS. PLEASE. Zuckerberg needs to be dragged, all day.

Almost 2,000,000 people have liked a post Mark Zuckerberg uploaded which confirmed the birth of his second daughter.

The Facebook founder took to social media last night and shared a letter he and his wife, Priscilla Chan, had penned in honour of their newest arrival – August.

"Priscilla and I are so happy to welcome our daughter August! We wrote her a letter about the world we hope she grows up in, and also hoping she doesn't grow up too fast," the 33-year-old began.

The proud parents referred to a letter they wrote August's older sister Max upon her arrival in 2015, but said that they didn't intend to focus on the same things in this letter.

Following Max's birth, Mark and Priscilla spoke about the world they hoped their first child would grow up in, but in this latest letter they focus on childhood.

"The world can be a serious place. That's why it's important to make time to go outside and play," Mark and Priscilla wrote.

"You will be busy when you're older, so I hope you take time to smell all the flowers and put all the leaves you want in your bucket now. I hope you read your favorite Dr. Seuss books so many times you start inventing your own stories about the Vipper of Vipp."

"I hope you ride the carousel with Max until you've tamed every color horse. I hope you run as many laps around our living room and yard as you want. And then I hope you take a lot of naps. I hope you're a great sleeper. And I hope even in your dreams you can feel how much we love you."

In the letter which has been, unsurprisingly, inundated with messages of support and congratulations, Mark and Priscilla asserted: "Childhood is magical."

"You only get to be a child once, so don't spend it worrying too much about the future. You've got us for that, and we'll do everything we possibly can to make sure the world is a better place for you and all children in your generation."

Finishing the letter with a nod to the future of their family, they added: "August, we love you so much and we're so excited to go on this adventure with you. We wish you a life of joy, love and the same hope you give us."

Mark Zuckerberg has been making a solid effort over the last year or two to really let Facebook users into his own life a little more, from giving his dog Beast a personal page to posting updates about his baby daughter.

And last night he shared another insight – this time into his fashion habits.

If you've ever seen a photo of Mark on-site at Facebook's HQ, you'll notice he always, ALWAYS, wears the same functional outfit – a light grey t-shirt and a darker grey hoody.

But if you thought the Zuckerbergs' long-suffering housekeeper was left to wash that one outfit over and over again, you'd be wrong. Instead, Mark simply has countless multiple versions of the very same t-shirt and hoody hanging in his wardrobe:

"First day back after paternity leave. What should I wear? Feeling undecided" he wrote alongside the picture showing a rack of grey t-shirt after grey t-shirt.

"I really want to clear my life to make it so that I have to make as few decisions as possible about anything except how to best serve this community," Zuckerberg explained last year of his decision to wear the same look each day,

"I feel like I'm not doing my job if I spend any of my energy on things that are silly or frivolous about my life."

Very Devil Wears Prada indeed, except we're guessing an American Apparel grey T costs slightly less than Miranda Priestly's all-black ensembles.

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg welcomed his first child, a baby girl named Maxima, earlier this week, and he's celebrating in a pretty unconventional way.

Forget 'wetting the baby's head' with a few pints or sending around a family photo – instead, Mark's giving away a fairly large chunk of his income.

Practically all of it, to be frank. Yes, Mark and his wife Priscilla have pledged 99% of their Facebook shares (approx. €42.4billion) to charitable initiatives, to help create a better world for little Max and "all children."

The entrepreneur announced the news – and his daughter's birth – with a Facebook post last night.

"Priscilla and I are so happy to welcome our daughter Max into this world!" he wrote alongside a family photo.

"For her birth, we wrote a letter to her about the world we hope she grows up in….We are committed to doing our small part to help create this world for all children.

"We will give 99% of our Facebook shares during our lives to join many others in improving this world for the next generation."

Unsurprisingly Mark's wide-reaching statement has already come under some scrutiny, with critics of the plan pointing out there are many loopholes for Mark and Priscilla.

The money will be shared through a company, the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, rather than a charity, meaning it "will be able to spend its money on whatever it wants, including private, profit-generating investment," according to Gawker.

Right now though, the real question for us is… can baby Maxima ever beat Mark and Priscilla's dog Beast in the cuteness stakes?

We think not.

Sometimes it's the small things that make the difference.

Facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg announced this week that the website was finally getting a 'dislike' button. It's something users have demanded for years, and the tech mastermind is finally giving in.

"People have asked about the 'dislike' button for many years," Mark said at a Q&A session at Facebook's California HQ this week.

"Probably hundreds of people have asked about this, and today is a special day because today is the day that I actually get to say we are working on it, and are very close to shipping a test of it."

Mark insists the 'dislike' function won't be there simply for people to 'downvote' posts, but more to show sympathy or pity in times when a 'like' feels insensitive.

That's all well and good, but there are definitely a few less sombre posts/people we wouldn't have been able to resist 'disliking'. For example…

1. This girl who REALLY should have thought before she typed

2. This grammar mix-up (or someone who just LOVES manors).

3. This user who can't get his head around maps that aren't Google-enabled

4. This girl who probably needs to check out a map herself

5. This 'trippy' badminton racquet… not.

6. This poor lad who is about to spend the next 18 hours on the toilet bowl

7. This dude who definitely skipped a few History classes

8. This 'inspiring' quote

9. This cheeky fecker

10. This mum who definitely spoke too soon

Mark Zuckerberg and Dr Priscilla Chan are expecting their first child together, he announced today – on Facebook, of course.

The baby, a girl, will arrive later this year.

In a picture which accompanied the online post, Mark and a radiant Priscilla can be seen standing alongside their beloved pup, a Hungarian sheepdog named Beast.

Mr Zuckerberg, one of the world's richest men with a net worth of €42.5bn, also opened up about Priscilla's three heartbreaking miscarriages.

"We've been trying to have a child for a couple of years and have had three miscarriages along the way," he admitted,

In a candid confession, the 31-year-old continued: "You feel so hopeful when you learn you're going to have a child. You start imagining who they'll become and dreaming of hopes for their future.

"You start making plans, and then they're gone. It's a lonely experience.

"Most people don't discuss miscarriages because you worry your problems will distance you or reflect upon you – as if you're defective or did something to cause this. So you struggle on your own."

However, Mark added that when he began to open up about their experiences to friends and family, he realised they were far from alone. And thankfully, he also learned that "nearly all" went on to have "healthy children after all".

Dr Chan, 30, is a qualified doctor who is currently training to become a paediatrician. She is fluent in three languages – English, Spanish, and Cantonese.

"Our good news is that our pregnancy is now far enough along that the risk of loss is very low and we are very hopeful," the Facebook CEO also said.

"Cilla and our child are both healthy, I'm extremely excited to meet her and our dog Beast has no idea what's coming.

"In our ultrasound, she even gave me a thumbs up 'like' with her hand, so I'm already convinced she takes after me."

He concluded with: "We're looking forward to welcoming her into the world and sharing more soon when she's ready to come out and meet everyone!"

The couple met as Harvard classmates – queuing for the bathroom at a fraternity party – and dated for nearly a decade before their May 2012 wedding.
