As anti-Trump narrative intensifies across the United States, it's no surprise many American stars have been asked to voice their opinion on the business tycoon's ascension to the Oval Office.

And the latest actor to tackle that particular line of questioning was Matthew McConaughey.

During an interview with Andrew Marr, the Dallas Buyer's Club star suggested that it might be time to stop railing against the new president, and choose, instead, to accept the fact.

Commenting on Hollywood's disdain, Matthew simply says they don't have a choice but to accept the new president.

"He’s our president. It’s a very dynamic and as divisive of an inauguration and time as we’ve had. At the same time, it’s time for us to embrace, shake hands with this fact, and be constructive with him over the next four years."

Acknowledging the outrage caused by Trump's ideologies, Matthew continued: "Even those who most strongly may disagree with his principles or things he’s said or done – which is another thing, we’ll see what he does compared to what he has said – no matter how much you disagreed along the way, it’s time to think how constructive can you be."

"But he's our president for the next four years, at least," he added.

It's worth noting that it is not yet clear whether the interview took place before or after the introduction of Trump's executive order.
