Meath shooting

Gardaí are appealing to members of the public following a shooting in Co Meath last night.

At approximately 7pm last night, a man, who is understood to be in his 30s, sustained two gunshoot wounds after eight shots were fired from a handgun in the Mill Close estate in Stamullen.

Reports have established that the man who was in the driveway of his home suffered injuries to his abdomen and arm, and was brought to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, Co Louth.

According to The Irish Times, the Gardaí want to trace the movement of two cars in connection with the incident: a blue Seat Leon ST and a white BMW.

While initial reports may have suggested otherwise, it has been confirmed that Gardaí are satisfied that last night's incident was neither feud-related nor related to the Kinahan-Hutch feud.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have been in the area at the time to contact them at Drogheda garda station on 041 987 4200 the Garda Confidential Line, 1800 666111 or any garda station.
