They also met Vicky Phelan, the mum who made the CervicalCheck controversy public.

Meghan told the Limerick mum that she had been following her story.

She told The Independent: “You don't think the Royals watch anything like this…. I was amazed, I was gobsmacked. I just said 'thank you' – I couldn't believe she knew who I was to be honest.”

Meghan encouraged Vicky to continue the inspiring work she has been doing for women: “She just said you're doing great work. Keep doing it."

Speaking about their trip to Ireland, Prince Harry said it was an honour to visit.

“Standing here with you on this beautiful evening, it is easy to see why Ireland has such a special place in the hearts of my family and indeed, all those who come here,"

The Duchess of Cambridge looked like the proudest mum as she arrived at the Chapel Royal for her son, Prince Louis’ christening service.

The doting mum cradled her 11-week-old baby boy in her arms as she entered the grounds of St. James’s Palace.

The young royal dozed in his mum’s arms as they greeted the Archbishop of Canterbury. It is understood that Kate said that Louis is just like George.

Kate also told the Archbishop of Canterbury that Louis was sleeping and “very peaceful.” She added: “I hope he stays like this.”

Prince William entered the chapel hand-in-hand with Prince George and Princess Charlotte, who looked as adorable as ever.

The siblings waved to the press and greeted the Archbishop as they entered the chapel.

The family-of-five were also joined by Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle also attended the celebration. It is understood that the Duke of Sussex purchased a first edition of first-edition of AA Milne's Winnie-The-Pooh as a gift for the young prince.

Members of the Middleton family also attended the service, including Kate’s sister Pippa and Lucy Middleton, who was confirmed as one of Louis’ godmothers.

Two notable members of the royal family were missing from the christening service. Earlier today, it was announced that Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip would not be attending the christening of Prince Louis due to the monarch’s hectic schedule.

The world was captivated by Doria Ragland’s calm disposition as she sat alone during Meghan and Prince Harry’s wedding ceremony. The mum was praised for being so independent and strong, however, the public couldn’t help but feel for her, as she was the only member of Meghan’s family at the wedding.

Her dad Thomas Markle was slated for missing out on his daughter’s big day, but he has since hit back at the haters.

Thomas Markle has opened up about missing that monumental day in an emotional interview with ITV’s Good Morning Britain.

Shortly before Harry and Meghan tied the knot at St. George’s Chapel, it was revealed that her dad would not be attending the wedding.

He admitted that his daughter was heartbroken when he told her he wouldn’t make it to the wedding.

The dad revealed that he shared the news with his 36-year-old daughter in an emotional phone call just days before the wedding.

“They were disappointed. Meghan cried, I’m sure, and they both said ‘Take care of yourself, we are really worried about you’.”

Thomas said that despite the claims he genuinely wanted to be at the wedding, “I absolutely wanted to walk my daughter down the aisle.”

He may not have been there to celebrate with his daughter and now son-in-law Harry, but Thomas got to watch the ceremony on tv.

He stated that it was a joy to see his daughter walk down the aisle, adding that she looked beautiful.

“I was very proud. I was very upset that it wasn’t me [walking her down the aisle] but the whole world was watching my daughter. I was very happy about that,” he expressed.

He added: “The unfortunate thing for me now is I’m a footnote in one of the greatest moments in history rather than the dad walking her down the aisle. That upsets me somewhat.”

The proud dad gushed about his daughter and told the show that her happiness means everything to him.

“As long as they’re happy and they have a great life and have some beautiful children and do good things in the world, I can’t ask for more," he said.

While marrying Prince Harry certainly seems like a fairytale come true, the lifestyle also comes with a whole host of rules that royal family members must abide by.

One part of dietary protocol is that the royal family cannot eat seafood during their public duties.

This is unfortunate for Meghan, who told The New Potato magazine that her 'ideal food day' would include a 'leisurely dinner of seafood and pasta'.

There is a very practical reason behind this rule, though.

Royal Butler Grant Harrold told Express that certain members of the royal family follow this rule so that they do not get food poisoning.

“It is a very sensible move to abandon having seafood when out and about on public duties,” he explained.

“We don't want a member of the Royal family having a serious reaction to food poisoning, especially if she is on an overseas tour.”

Apparently seafood isn't the only food forbidden at the royal table.

“As well as shellfish, it would also be quite appropriate for foods such as foie gras to be avoided,” Grant said.

Andrew Farquharson, Deputy Master at Clarence House, told the Telegraph, "The Prince of Wales has a policy that his chefs should not buy foie gras."

Prince Charles banned foie gras from being served at the royal table allegedly for animal welfare reasons rather than personal health concerns.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will embark on their first official royal tour this Autumn.

Kensington Palace confirmed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will visit Australia, Fiji, the Kingdom of Tonga, and New Zealand.

The tour will fall on the occasion of Invictus Sydney 2018.

The games are due to take place from October 20 to 27, so we expect the couple to set off on their tour around that time.

Rumour has it Meghan and Harry will also be visiting Ireland during the summer months. According to reports, the royal couple will visit the Emerald for two days in mid-July.

Meghan has been extremely enthusiastic about this new chapter of her life. The former actress admitted that she was excited about her new role in the royal family.

Shortly after they announced their engagement, Meghan told Sky News that she couldn’t wait to become a member of the royal family. The former Suits star said, “I don’t see it as giving anything up. It’s a new chapter.”

Meghan has dazzled at previous royal engagements, receiving heaps of praise from the public for her calm disposition. We can’t even begin to imagine just how much pressure is on her shoulders.

Stop what you're doing and prepare for a second dose of Royal wedding fever, because Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are rumoured to be enjoying some quality time in Ireland as we speak.

According to reports, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are staying at the 5 star  Ashford Castle in Cong, Co. Mayo, which has previously played host to other high-profile guests such as John Lennon and former US President Ronald Reagan.

Locals in the area claim there's a huge security presence around the grounds of the castle, with all perimeters and local roads being patrolled.

It was previously reported that the newlyweds would likely travel to Ireland shortly after their wedding, however it was originally thought that the pair would attend a series of events over the two-day visit.

While there has been no official confirmation of a Royal presence in Ireland, all signs seem to indicate the newlyweds are in town!

Well-wishers who were swept away by Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's love story sent on a myriad of gifts to celebrate their wedding.

However, surprisingly enough, the royal newlyweds reportedly will not be enjoying these presents (also, you have to wonder how many blenders they got – €8 million worth?).

Nope, royal protocol holds that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex can't accept gifts for commercial purposes, or from well-meaning people who don't know them.

According to the Independent, gifting guidelines laid down for guests before the ceremony read:

"It should be noted that gifts cannot be brought to St George’s Chapel or the Reception that follows at Windsor Castle. Guests are advised to seek further guidance on delivery arrangements for any gifts to Kensington Palace."

Instead of gifts, the newlyweds' public wedding registry asked that people donate to charities.

The gesture is not only sweet, but also reflects just how devoted to charity work both Harry and Meghan are.

And as far as protocol for gift-giving from the public, another statement from the palace further explains how the process works:

"When gifts are accepted, the consent of the Member of the Royal Family should be contingent upon the enterprise undertaking not to exploit the gift for commercial purposes.

"Gifts offered by private individuals living in the UK not personally known to the Member of the Royal Family should be refused where there are concerns about the propriety or motives of the donor or the gift itself."

However, there are a few extra special gifts they won't have to return, namely a pair of adorable koalas called Meghan and Harry that will live at the Taronga Zoo!

Sure, the koalas will be happier there – though we do love the mental image of adorable marsupials hanging around Kensington Palace!

So a few weeks ago, the gorgeous Meghan Markle married Prince Harry in a lavish ceremony in Windsor.

Naturally, it sparked quite a few trends, with people copying the bride's dress and plastering their faces on almost everything.

One thing we didn't really expect though? Royal wedding nail art.

No, it isn't just a cute romantic manicure inspired by the couple's big day!

The nail art literally has a mini Meghan and Harry glued to acrylic nails – and we're kind of terrified.

A nail artist on Instagram, @nail_sunn, was clearly wicked inspired by the day – and decided to create something pretty impressive.

And pretty weird, but hey, that's life.

The new Duke and Duchess of Sussex were created using acrylic, and in great detail.

However, their faces are a little dead-pan, which is probably the reason they look so creepy.

If this particular look is a bit OTT for you (we don't blame you!) then why not give the bride's actual nail shade a whirl?

Meghan apparently wore 'Ballet Slippers' nail polish by Essie on her big day.

A lovely light pink, it was definitely more understated than the mad looking nail art.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have stepped out for their first appearance together as newlyweds, and we have to say, they couldn't have chosen a better occasion.

The happy couple attended a garden party held in honour of Prince Charles' birthday.

While the Prince of Wales doesn't turn 70 until November 14, because he has a milestone birthday this year he's due to enjoy some extra celebrations this year. "How very Royal!" Harry quipped in the speech he delivered for his dear dad.

A post shared by Kensington Palace (@kensingtonroyal) on

Meghan Markle looked gorgeous at the party in a pale dress from Goat, a London-based label, and the Telegraph reports that she topped off her look with a dainty Philip Treacey hat.

She also shared a cute moment with the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall. The three all tried not to laugh when the Duke of Sussex's speech was interrupted by a wandering bee.

“That bee really got me," the 33-year-old joked as he swatted the pesky insect away.

During the speech, Harry congratulated his father on his extensive charity work.

"It really is amazing to see so many of you here today for this family celebration," he said.

"I say ‘family’ because this is a chance for us to honour The Prince of Wales's work over the last 40 plus years, with all of his charities, patronages and military associations – and, as you all know, my father views all of your organisations like an extended family."

The newly married Prince also thanked emergency services workers for their invaluable work during the Manchester tragedy, which occurred a year ago yesterday.

"I would like us to take a moment to remember all those affected by the tragic events at the Manchester Arena a year ago. We are fortunate to have over 250 representatives from the Emergency Services here today," the Duke of Sussex said.

He added, "So, on behalf of my family and everyone here, I would like to say thank you to the Emergency Services and all those who supported the injured and affected."

Harry shared more admiring words for his father, too, saying, "His enthusiasm and energy are truly infectious; it has certainly inspired William and I to get involved in issues we care passionately about and to do whatever we can to make a difference.

“In fact, many of the issues William and I now work on are subjects we were introduced to by our father growing up.

“His passion and dedication are remarkable and seeing so many of you here today, I cannot fail but to be in awe of the drive he has had for so many years, to contribute to the enrichment of society both in this country and around the world.”

Charles and his son embraced, sharing kisses on each cheek after the heartfelt speech ended.

Their bond is so sweet, and it's wonderful to see Meghan readily embraced as part of the royal family.

So, unless you have been peacefully residing under a rock for months, you will know about the royal wedding.

On Saturday afternoon, Prince Harry married the beautiful Meghan Markle, in a memorable ceremony.

And while Harry looked fab, along with all the famous guests – it was, of course, the bride that stole the show.

Rightly.

Meghan Markle, the now Duchess of Sussex, wore a simple dress by Claire Waight Keller, the artistic director of Givenchy.

The stunning bride paired the gown with a long, lace veil and tiara, loaned to her by The Queen.

FLAWLESS, let me tell you.

Anyway, it was only a matter of time before someone recreated the look.

Rashida Keenan is an Irish photographer, who uploaded her own take on Meghan Markle's wedding look yesterday – just 22 hours after rhe main event.

"I have spent today with an incredible bunch of talented ladies, who in less than 22 hours have recreated Meghan Markles stunning wedding looks," she wrote on Facebook.

"Make sure to get your copy of tomorrows Belfast Telegraph to read all about it.
