Michelle Keegan has spoken out about the difficulty of being in a long-distance marriage. The former Coronation Street star married TOWIE’s Mark Wright in 2015, but the pair have spent months apart due to work commitments.

She explained, “He got the job in LA while I was in Malaysia [filming Our Girl]. We were apart for about 4 months. It was really tough. People said how did you deal with it and stuff.

"Thank god for FaceTime and things like that,” the actress stressed.

The Brassic actress said it was hard to get used to living with Mark again, especially after spending so much time apart.

She got used to her own company.

"I’m not a cleaner, I’m not going to move them, they’ll be there for five days and I don’t care, I’m not moving them,” Michelle said.

The couple, who have been married for four years, are focusing on their careers for the time being but Michelle said that they are planning on having children one day.

The actress is constantly hounded about her family plans but stressed that it’ll happen when she is ready.

"My mum is on it as well. No plans yet, but we definitely do want children in the future,” the former soap star added.

The Jonathan Ross Show airs on ITV on Saturday at 10.30pm.

Getting a smear might be something that we dread, but it is vitally important for our health and wellbeing. 

And now Michelle Keegan is getting vocal about why we shouldn't put it off.

The 32-year-old took to Insta to post a video about going to get her smear test done.

It’s Time to talk Cervical Screening examinations… AKA the dreaded SMEAR (horrible word) test! I’m going to be honest with you all, I’ve had numerous letters come through my front door that I’ve pushed aside. I’ve also ignored my mums tiresome pleas telling me to book an appointment with my local GP …because 1) I used the excuse of being ‘too busy’ with work and life in general 2) let’s face its it’s bloody embarrassing to drop your knickers and open your legs in front of a total stranger 3) I was apprehensive thinking about the pain I was going to endure! It was a tad uncomfortable but no means painful. After doing some research I found that the number of women who should go for a test has dropped to an all time low in 20 years!!! Cervical Cancer is the most common cancer in women under the age of 35, with some having no symptoms whatsoever. 75% of cervical cancers can be prevented by having regular cervical screening, let me break this down for you…SMEAR TESTS SAVES LIVES. My advice to you… STOP making excuses, book, and go for your bloody smear! She admitted that she had put it off and avoided letters that came in the post. 

However, she did reassure her fans that the process was not painful.

Her 3.7 million followers were quick to comment their support, with one writing, ''as a smear taker myself, it's great to see famous people who are followed by thousands put this out there.

Another said, ''I've been exactly the same as you, putting it off and shoving letters in drawers. I'm going to make an appointment tomorrow."

We applaud Michelle and her bravery in sharing her experience on social media of getting a smear test, and for highlighting the importance of attending appointments to help catch cervical cancer.

But while she may be guilty of adjusting her appearance with the assistance of hair dye, Michelle Keegan says she has not used Botox to improve her face.
 

In a new interview with The Mirror, the Coronation Street star claimed that while she doesn’t have a problem with Botox, she personally hasn’t availed of its benefits.

 

While defending herself against recent claims that her face looked different in Our Girl than it had previously, the 29-year-old said: “Everyone says that I’ve changed my face and I’ve had Botox, but you have to be able to move your face when you’re an actress – which I can do.”

“So you can see I haven’t had it.  I don’t worry about what people say though, what’s the big deal about Botox?  I know loads of people who’ve had it, it’s not a big deal.”

So why did Michelle look different in the new BBC drama?  Well maybe it’s because she was wearing less makeup than usual.

The star said: “I loved that fact that I was stripped back for this role – no makeup, my hair was up, it was liberating.”

“People always see me in nice dresses, looking done.  I thought it was a really nice opportunity to show them my acting.”

Our Girl debuted on Wednesday evening, and Twitter erupted with people shocked with Michelle's amazing performance. 

Thousands of people took to social media to praise Michelle, stating that her performance was "incredible" and "awe inspiring!"  

Michelle was clearly overwhelmed by the support she received, tweeting to her 3.6 million followers that appreciated all the love.

Back in July our hearts wept as Michelle Keegan swapped her trademark brunette locks for a much lighter look.

And while we were temporarily relieved to learn that the Corrie actress’ new ‘do was part of her role in Tina And Bobby, Michelle’s decision to remain blonde once filming had finished had us worried that we might never again see her as a brunette.

Thankfully though at long last the British star has stepped out with the long brown hair we all know and love, and while her new style is not quite as dark as it once was, we still think Michelle’s hair looks WAY better than it did blonde.

The 29-year-old actress was snapped heading to BBC Breakfast in Manchester this morning with her fresh look to promote the upcoming series of Gone Girl.

According to the Mail Online, in a separate interview Michelle was also forced to address rumours surrounding her relationship with Mark Wright.

The brunette beauty told The Sun that while she and her husband of one year have struggled to spend time together recently, their relationship is definitely not in trouble.

 

With a fab new look and her relationship intact, it looks like things are on the up for Michelle.

Yes, Our Girl has given Michelle Keegan one of her biggest roles since she left Coronation Street two years ago. 

Now the first image of the 29-year-old actress in character has been released… and we have to say we LOVE it.

Dressed in military attire, the Manchester-native plays Georgie Lane in a lead role.

She filmed the series in South Africa at the beginning of this year – a schedule which meant she was forced to spent several weeks at a time away from her husband of one-year, reality TV show star Mark Wright, 29.

The series will first air on BBC on Wednesday, September 7.

Michelle Keegan shocked her fans when she debuted new blonde hair last week.

Known for her long, dark, glossy locks, everyone thought it was the beginning of a 'new' Michelle, but as it turns out, it's for a new TV role.

The former Corrie star's makeover is in preparation for a new ITV role which chronicles the life of legendary England football captain Bobby Moore, and Michelle is set to play his wife, Tina.

While on set, the actress teamed her new locks with a cream trench coat and PVC boots, adding a bit of 60s glamour to her make-up with large cat-eye flicks.

After the 1966 World Cup, Bobby Moore and his wife rose to fame and quickly became the UK's 'it' couple.

The three-part series is based on Tina's memoir, Bobby Moore: By The Person Who Knew Him Best, and will be filmed throughout the summer months.

The actress unveiled the bright makeover at London's Wireless festival where she partied the night away with her hubby, Mark Wright last night.

Indeed, the 29-year-old actress, who was been married to Mark Wright for a little more than a year, has now sent the rumour-mill into overdrive.

The cosy snaps come after Michelle admitted to LOOK that she finds it hard to find a perfect balance in her life, and that her hubby Mark critiques her wardrobe choices when they're going out.

"Mark gives his opinion. He'll point something out that I haven't seen before and be like, "That doesn't go.'"

The actress also admitted to the mag that she doesn't see her husband as much as she's like to.

"It's hard to juggle friends, work and a husband.

"I have to plan. Mark's always looking at his diary and I'm at mine and my friends are all in a group message trying to arrange their time," she said.

Michelle has just wrapped on the set of Our Girl, so hopefully we'll see more date night snaps of the lovable pair together.

They only married a year ago – but Mark Wright and Michelle Keegan have recently had to fight off rumours of a split.

Speculation began when Michelle, 29, moved to South Africa for work – and more recently Mr Wright jetted off to Las Vegas for a lads holiday.

That and on occasion Michelle has been seen without her wedding ring.

Now, 29-year-old Mr Wright has taken to Instagram to reiterate that all is well in his marriage. The Towie star posted an image of a delicious looking BLT, leading us all to believe that the couple are still very much together, for lunch at least. 

“The missus don't mess about when it comes to BLTs…” he wrote to his 1.2m followers on the social media platform.

Mark’s sister, fellow Towie star Jessica, spoke to The Sun recently about her brother’s relationship, stating "it’s awful for them but they have to rise above it and they do. I feel so bad for them because you don’t want to have negative vibes around your relationship."

Last week, Mark Wright shared a photo on Instagram, and let's just say it was very revealing.

The snap showed him getting out of the bath, with just bubbles covering his… erm, modesty.

Many of his fans lashed out at him on Twitter, saying they thought it was a very disrespectful thing to do to his wife. One user wrote: "Mark put your body away you're married and being disrespectful to your wife!!! I would be fuming."

While another said: "I don't normally comment on things like this but a very strange thing to do when your married."

However, while speaking to Star Magazine, Mark responded to the question of whether Michelle was upset by the bath photo.

The reality star said: "It's a silly question. I mean, why would she be? Seriously?"

"People have seen me on the beach before with my top off."

He continued: If people want to think that [it was disrespectful behaviour], well, each to their own. People need to lighten up."
