Joan Rivers is not afraid to make the odd controversial comment – but her latest one is particularly dicey considering it was about Michelle and Barack Obama!

When asked by a reporter if she thought America would ever see a gay president, she replied:

“Well we already have it with Obama, so let’s just calm down.

“You know Michelle is a tranny?”

But the reporter didn’t know, so just to confirm, Rivers said:

“A transgender. We all know.”

Eh, ok Joan, whatever you say!

We really hope Michelle has a sense of humour!

It doesn’t get any more high profile than this!

The First Lady Michelle Obama is to make a guest appearance in TV drama Nashville.

She will star as herself alongside American Idol’s Kellie Pickler in an episode named All or Nothing With Me, set to air in the U.S on the ABC network channel on May 7th.

In the episode, Rayna James (Connie Britton) asks the First Lady and Kelly to help host a charity concert at Fort Campbell for Luke Wheeler (Will Chase) after learning that Luke was injured in Afghanistan.

The episode will be the second-to-last of the season.

The Nashville episode will be the First Lady’s second big TV cameo this spring.

On April 24th, she’ll star alongside Amy Poehler’s Leslie Knope in the season finale of NBC’s Parks and Recreation.

Is there anything this woman can’t do?

It looks like everybody’s favourite FLOTUS (First Lady of the United States, don’t cha know) will be appearing on the NBC’s hilarious show Parks and Recreation.

Michelle’s office in the White House confirmed the news saying she will make a guest appearance in the season six finale.

The episode will be in line with Michelle’s campaigning for health and fitness in America and will be titled “Moving Up”.

Parks and Recreation also confirmed the news on their Twitter account, writing: “Time to get real about Pawnee’s obesity … @FLOTUS is coming to town for our #ParksandRec season finale Thursday, April 24!”

Michelle Obama wore a beautiful Caroline Herrera gown to the state dinner honouring French president Francois Hollande last night.

The dress, complete with a black lace bodice, full blue gown and black velvet belt was designed by the Venezuelan designer and was sure to make Mrs. Obama the centre of attention at the event.

Hollande attended the event alone following the highly publicised break-down of his relationship with Valerie Trierweiler.

It looks like Ms Bey was lucky enough to perform at Michelle Obama’s birthday party in the White House on Saturday night.

The singer shared these pictures of herself, husband Jay-z and little cutie Blue Ivy on her website.

In one snap, it looks as if the star is having her make-up done, perhaps before a performance for the First Lady. In another she is seen with the Obamas’ dog, Bo.

There are also some cute snaps of Blue Ivy walking with her parents into the White House – look how sweet her outfit is!

As we mentioned before, this is a party we would have liked to attend however our invite must have gotten lost in the post. Guess we’ll just have to be happy looking at the photos.
