Mischa Barton has claimed victory over an ex boyfriend who attempted to release illicit footage of the actress.

It's reported that The OC star reached a deal in court preventing Jon Zacharias from releasing any explicit videos or images made during their relationship, which according to Mischa, were taken without her consent. 

Speaking outside the court, Mischa said,  "Today was major not just for me, but for women everywhere who get to decide what images of their body are shown and hopefully stand up to bullying by men in situations like this."Jon Zacharias must now hand over all offending materials. 

Earlier this year, Mischa took out two temporary restraining orders against him and another ex boyfriend, Adam Shaw, who is believed to be a friend of Jon's.

The actress claims the pair had been trying to sell a sex tape of her to online porn websites for up to $500,000.

Following the victory, Mischa's lawyer, Lisa Bloom, tweeted in celebration. 

“Distribution of the explicit images banned, ex stays 100 yards away forever,” she wrote.  

In a statement, Ms Bloom said: “I am proud to declare victory for Mischa. She did this not just for herself, but for all women and girls. Mischa wants everyone to know that we have the right to control our own bodies and decide whether or not to have explicit photos out there for the world to see.

"If a woman wants to do that, fine. If she doesn’t, fine. The choice is hers and hers alone.”

Mischa Barton has been involved in a legal battle in recent weeks, after reports surfaced that an alleged sex tape of the star was being sold to pornography companies.

Mischa has been granted a restraining order against the person she believes to be responsible for the attempted sale of the tape, which falls under the revenge porn category as Mischa claims she was unaware she was being filmed. 

"I just want to say that I’ve been put through an incredibly hard and trying time,” she said in a statement.

“This is a painful situation, and my absolute worst fear was realised when I learned that someone I thought I loved and trusted was filming my most intimate and private moments, without my consent, with hidden cameras."

"Then I learned something even worse: that someone is trying to sell these videos and make them public."

"I came forward to fight this not only for myself but for all the women out there.”

“I want to protect them from the pain and humiliation I’ve had to go through. No woman should have to go through this,” she said.

“It is a very hard thing to do but I am glad that I am finally standing up for myself.”

The alleged creator and attempted distributor opf the tape has been instructed by a judge that he is under no circumstances able to "sell, distribute, give away or show any naked pictures of videos of any type of Mischa Barton," according to her lawyer.

Last night, OC star and noughties style icon Mischa Barton was hospitalised after police responded to a disturbance at her Hollywood home.

The actress was then brought to hospital voluntarily to be assessed.

There have been conflicting reports about the star's mental state at the time.

According to Mid-Day, Sergeant Duncan of West Hollywood Sheriff's Department said that Mischa was "fully clothed" and "speaking in coherent statements."

However, TMZ reports that the star was exhibiting "bizarre behavior" while wearing only a dress shirt and tie.

According to their source, Mischa was "hanging over her backyard fence in West Hollywood and rambling about her mom being a witch, the world shattering … and Ziggy Stardust. At one point she fell backward off the fence and said, 'Oh my God, it's over! I feel it, and it's angry!'"

Whatever the case, we hope Mischa gets the help she needs.

Let's be honest, Mischa Barton will always be Marissa to us.

But since The OC, she hasn't really made it big in anything else, so maybe that's why she going down a rather different path.

It has been revealed that the actress is the new host of Joyride, which is like our version of Top Gear.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the show focuses on Mischa and her co-hosts travelling around the world in both new and vintage cars.

The cars and host will also be put to the test as they battle it out against each other every week.

Mischa will be joined by T-Pain, Oliver Trevena and race car driver Brian Vickers.

Well, it's certainly going to be interesting…

Everyone's favourite teenage television show turns 12 this week. Yep, it's been a full 12 years since Ryan got thrown into jail, Seth became a stoner, Summer became an environmentalist and Marissa gave us all wardrobe envy.

Ah, memories!

There was a lot of drama on the show (we won't even mention the final season) but it was always there to entertain us. And yes, maybe we felt like we were kinda part of their squad too.

To mark the occasion, we look at the main characters and what they're up to now.

Mischa Barton played Marissa Cooper on the teen drama, and she definitely had her fair share of ups and (many) downs but we couldn't help but love her on-off romance with Ryan.

Ultimately, however, her (#spoileralert) untimely death shocked audiences. And let's face it, the show was NEVER the same after Mischa's departure.

Ms Barton has also been apart of almost as much drama in real life: in 2007 she was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs and then just last year she got entangled in a major legal battle with her own mother. Barton decided to sue her mum for allegedly taking her money and kicking her out of her own home. 

Talk about drama!

 

Ben McKenzie played hunk Ryan Atwood (swoon) on the show, and he stole the hearts of many females around the world. Although, and while he was also often the OC hero, he still had his fair share of troubles (thanks, Marissa).

Nowadays, we're happy to report that Mr McKenzie has returned to our TV screens: he has adopted the role of James Gordon on the show Gotham.

Still, Ben is a Hollywood actor who likes to keep his life private away from the cameras. In saying that, we can confirm that he is currently single (so yes, we're all still in with a chance!).

 

Adam Brody played Seth Cohan on the show and made us adore him with his quirky attitude and cute moments with Summer. Since the show ended, Mr Brody has kept himself busy with a film career in lieu of small-screen success.

And although he's yet to star in a major role, the world went crazy when it emerged that he and Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester were dating. Now they're married – tying the knot in a cosy private ceremony in February of last year.

 

Rachel Bilson played pint-sized stunner Summer Roberts on the teen drama and turned from superficial princess to crazy environmentalist in just one season.

In 2011, Ms Bilson was cast as the main character in TV show Hart Of Dixie but it was then cancelled in May of this year.

She started dating Star Wars actor Hayden Christensen in 2007 and after a very much on-off relationship the couple ended up having a baby girl, Briar Rose late last year.

Nipple slips are bad enough, right?

Nipple slips at starstudded events when you're sitting beside screen legend, Martin Sheen, are worse.

So spare a thought for former OC star, Mischa Barton, who didn't realise her top was revealing much more than her keen taste in white shirts at an event on Friday.

Attending Bhopal: A Prayer For Rain the star found herself exposing a little more skin than she anticipated in a mortifying moment which elicited quite the response from The Departed star.

Raising his eyebrows in a classic theatrical manner, Mr. Sheen left us in no doubt that he had seen much than he expected from the lovely Ms. Barton.

With her plunging white shirt gaping open while she chatted to her fellow attendees, the star appeared to have no idea that she'd flashed almost everyone in attendance and that the mortifying moment had been caught on camera.

Maybe going bra-less wasn't the best idea, Misch!

Actress Mischa Barton has filed a lawsuit against her own mother, it was revealed last night.

The star, who had child parts in The Sixth Sense and Notting Hill before getting her break playing rich girl Marissa Cooper in The O.C., claims her mother stole a significant amount of her earnings and even kicked Mischa out of her own mansion.

Mischa claims her mum Nuala took advantage of her daughter's success by taking on the role of talent manager with no qualifications. "This action arises from the tragic tale of a greedy stage mother posing as a talent manager who, instead of acting in the best interest of her daughter/client, schemed to defraud her unsuspecting victim,” Mischa's lawyer said. 

"From the outset, Nuala positioned herself to siphon her daughter’s hard-earned money by purportedly acting as her talent manager – a role for which Nuala had absolutely no experience or training.”

The documents filed against Nuala pinpoint one incident in particular where she lied to her daughter about what she had earned for her role in a film called The Hoarder. After being told by her mother that she was earning a certain amount, Mischa later found out that her salary had been significantly higher, but that Nuala had claimed the difference for herself.

In another money-grabbing move, Nuala is said to have used Mischa's name to create a handbag line and a London boutique without giving her daughter any share in the profits.

It's also alleged that Mischa's mum named herself as co-owner of the actress' Beverly Hills mansion, and later kicked her out as well as taking loans out against the property. Nuala now lives in the mansion with Mischa's father, Paul Barton. 

The lawsuit states that Mischa's parents "sit back expecting their daughter's hard work and dedication to her craft to support their lifestyle," and notes that neither Nuala or Paul have had a job in over a decade.

Wow – sounds like there's a lot to work through…

Mischa Barton broke our hearts today, when she admitted that if given the choice again, she would "probably not" have starred in the hit show, The O.C.

What?! The actress said she was skeptical from the start when it came to starring in the hit teen drama.

"It's something I came so close to not doing. I had a really great thing with film. People say be grateful for what you have but it certainly not the kind of thing I was expecting it to be. I've kind of seen it all”

Mischa didn’t have an easy time after leaving the show though. She was arrested for DUI in 2007 and in 2009, the actress was admitted into a psych ward after she threatened to take her own life.

But Mischa says she doesn’t care about how she’s perceived in the media, but admitted that the pressure fame placed on her, was difficult.

"It's really tough when you are young in this business. People blow a lot of hot air at you. That's the main thing. Keep your head on your shoulders—even when you think your head is on your shoulders, sometimes it isn't. It's just one of those things when you are growing under a microscope and changing and that evolution is human. That humanity aspect means flaws—which people don't want to see."

We guess that makes sense, but you will always be Marissa Cooper to us Mischa!
