Actress’ tragic cause of death revealed
Actress Misty Upham, best known for her roles in Django Unchained and August: Osage County, may not have died from suicide as was originally believed.
The star's body was discovered in a ravine in the Seattle suburb of Auburn on October 16. She first went missing more than two weeks beforehand. A family search party on the evening of her death missed spotting her purse by just 25 feet.
It's reported that Misty died from blunt force trauma to the head and torso. Officials believe the injuries were caused by a fall, but it's unclear exactly how the incident occurred.
Just a week before the actress' body was discovered, her father Charles told police that she suffered from bipolar disorder and had stopped taking her medication, which led him to believe she may have been suicidal.
However he stressed the fact that he did not believe his daughter would end her own life. "She has said suicidal things in the past, but never followed through," he said at the time. "She doesn't believe in killing herself. She believes that is a sin and she would never do that."
In a message written on Facebook around the time Misty's body was found, relatives said the actress had fled her apartment to escape from police officers on the day of her death, and that she had fallen when trying to get out of view of the road. However those reports have not been confirmed.
