A murder investigation has been launched following the death of a young man in Beaumont Hospital last night.

The 20-year-old had been found with serious head injuries on the Old Blessington Road in Tallaght, at around 3am on the morning of November 1.

The victim was initially taken to Tallaght Hospital but was later transferred to Beaumont where he remained in intensive care until he lost his fight for life on Monday.

A post-mortem has been carried out and Gardaí have upgraded their inquiry from an assault investigation to a murder investigation.

One man has been arrested in connection with the incident and is currently being held at Tallaght Garda Station.

Investigations are ongoing.

A knife has been found which is linked to the murder of 37-year-old Anne Colomines in her apartment in Dublin on Tuesday night.

Anne is believed to have been a stabbing victim. 

Gardaí are treating the crime as a domestic incident at this time, according to RTE. 

Anne's 35-year-old partner was also found at the scene with severe injuries. 

He is currently being treated in hospital for his wounds. 

Gardai were alerted about a disturbance at the apartment on Dorset Street at around midnight on Tuesday night.

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses or anyone with any information to contact Mountjoy Garda Station on 01 6668600, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any garda station.

Danielle McLaughlin was found murdered on a beach on March 14 of this year, while on her travels in Goa.

Her family have confirmed that the murder case is now being 'fast-tracked' due to new postmortem results. 

The second postmortem was carried out in Ireland by Chief State Pathologist, Dr Marie Cassidy.

It reportedly confirms the results of the first postmortem, which was carried out in India. 

A local man, Vikat Bhagat, has been charged with the rape and murder of Danielle. 

Danielle's family have released a statement on the case:

'Danielle’s family have dealt with a lot of documents and information in relation to Danielle’s case over the last number of weeks and months,' according to Donegal Now.

'They are still trying to cope with and come to terms with the tragedy that has occurred.'

'Danielle’s family remain hopeful that the truth in relation to Danielle’s untimely death will be made known and that justice in her memory will be done.'

In September 1987, a community in Co Kildare went into mourning following the tragic death of two children and their babysitter in Kilcock.

Kerrie Ann Byrne was just three-years-old when she and her eight-year-old sister, Mary Ellen, died in a house fire on Church Lane in the small Kildare town.

The children were in the care of their 20-year-old babysitter, Barbara Doyle, when the fire broke out.

Despite initially believing that the death of the three individuals was the result of an accidental blaze, authorities revealed last week that they are now treating it as a murder case.

Following a fresh appeal into the case, Gardai have today confirmed that they have made an arrest relating to the case.

"Gardaí investigating the murders of Barbara Doyle, aged 20 years, Mary Ellen Byrne aged 8 years and Kerrie Byrne aged 3 years at a house fire in Kilcock, Co. Kildare that occured on 20th September, 1987 at Church Lane, Kilcock, Co. Kildare have made an arrest. "

"The man, (in his 50s) was arrested this afternoon in North County Dublin and is currently detained at Leixlip Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984."

The Gardaí have thanked the public for their assistance following the appeal's renewal.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the murder of Darragh Nugent as part of their ongoing investigation into the crime.

The murder occurred at Wheatfield Avenue, Clondalkin on September 11.

Gardaí are making a further appeal to the public who may have vital information that can assist Gardaí in this investigation.

Superintendent Dermot Mann specified that Gardaí are seeking witnesses to assist in locating the getaway car.

Superintendent Mann said yesterday: 'I wish to take this opportunity to thank members of the public for their assistance to date in this investigation.'

'We have had an excellent response to our last appeal for information which is greatly assisting the investigation, last night Gardaí responded to a call of a car on fire at Woodside, Newtown, Leixlip, which was the car used in the murder of Darragh Nugent.'

During the technical examination of the car a firearm was located.

'I am appealing to anyone who may have seen this car in the days leading up to the 11th September, anywhere between Wheatfield Avenue, Clondalkin and Leixlip to contact us.' 

'I'm also appealing to the residents of Woodside, Newtown, River Forest and the general vicinity of Leixlip area who may have noticed this car parked at Woodside on 11th and/or 12th September, 2017 and who can assist us with our investigation.'

During the course of follow up searches today in Collinstown Park, a second firearm was located.

A 36-year-old man has been killed in a shooting last night

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of the shooting incident at Clondalkin in Dublin.

The incident at Wheatfield Avenue was reported to Gardaí at 9.40pm.

The man was seriously injured at the scene and later died.

Gardaí are searching for witnesses to the attack. 

The area was sealed off and a forensic examination of the area will take place.

Gardaí investigating the murder of Nicola Collins have arrested a man in his 40s.

Nicola was killed on March 27 2017 at Pophams Road, Co. Cork. 

The 38-year-old mother-of-three was originally from Tralee in Co Kerry.

The man is currently being detained at Mayfield Garda Station.

This is the third person to be arrested in connection with the murder.

A man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a 56-year-old man in Swords, Co Dublin, in the early hours of yesterday morning.

The 29-year-old is currently being detained at Swords Garda Station.

A post-mortem was carried out on the body of the man who died after he was found with serious injuries close to the back entrance to Fingal Community College on North Street in Swords, Co Dublin.

The man was treated by medical personal, but was pronounced dead at the scene.

Darragh O’Brien, Fianna Fail TD for Dublin Fingal, said his thoughts and prayers were with the family and friends of the victim.

"This is a very tragic incident, and while the full details of what happened aren’t yet known, we all need to look after our friends on nights out."

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact them at Swords Garda Station on 01-6664700, the Garda Confidential Telephone line on 1800 666 111 or any garda station.

They are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who was in the area between 1:30am and 3:30am on Sunday morning, and motorists who may have 'dash cam' footage.

A man has been charged with murder after infecting his partner with HIV, which developed into AIDS.

Ronald Murdock, 51, from Ohio, has had his bail set to $1.5million after the death of his long-term girlfriend Kimberly Klempner.

It is alleged that the couple had unprotected sex when he knew he was HIV positive, but he did not tell her.

According to Ohio law, those diagnosed with HIV are required to disclose the fact to their sexual partners

He stood accused of not disclosing his HIV-positive status to Kimberly, ultimately leading to her death.

'By the time she found out and by the time everything was said and done, it was way too late,' Kimberly's son told Cosmo. 

'She would have done anything for that man. And for him not to come out in the beginning and tell her what was going on was not right.'

Ronald Murdock faces a life sentence of imprisonment if found guilty of the crimes. 

According to the HSE, if you have HIV, it is important that your current sexual partner or any sexual partners you have had since being exposed to infection are tested and treated.

'If you do not tell your sexual partners and you have unsafe sex and infect someone, they could prosecute you.'

6. Real Crime Profile 

The amazing and eery thing about this particular podcast is that involves people who really know what they're talking about when it comes to true crime. 

The podcast features Jim Clemente, a former FBI profiler, Laura Richards, formerly of New Scotland Yards, who is now the Founder and Director of Paladin, the National Stalking Advocacy Service, and Lisa Zambetti, who is the casting director for CBS' Criminal Minds.

The team profile behaviour from real criminal cases to chilling effect. 

5. They Walk Among Us

To sum this one up, They Walk Among Us is a bi-weekly UK true crime podcast that covers a broad range of cases.

Headed up by Benjamin and Rosie, the pair divulge the details of strange and surreal cases, and focuses on UK-based crimes.

As well as laying out the facts, this podcast also brings the crimes full circle, giving details on the criminals and where they are now. It's pretty unsettling stuff. 

4. Casefile True Crime

With a description like "fact is scarier than fiction," you know this series is going to be good. 

The narrator calmly and creepily tells stories of devastating Australian crimes, and we're totally hooked.

Sometimes, in cases where the culprit avoids detection, the narrator speculates on potential theories about whop could have committed the crime. It's quite literally thrilling.

3. Unsolved Murders : True Crime Stories

Unsolved Murders: True Crime Stories is a riveting podcast drama that delves into the mystery of true cold cases and unsolved murders.

The podcast reexamines old cases and explores the unsolved in the spookiest and most engaging manner. 

2. Untold

Untold is unique, as unlike many of these podcasts, it examines only one murder. 

The podcast probes the brutal murder of private eye Daniel Morgan in 1987, a case which is one of the most investigated but unsolved in British criminal history.

Another eery aspect of this podcast is that it is headed up by none other than Daniel Morgan's brother Alastair Morgan, along with Peter Dukes. 

1. Actual Innocence

This podcast is unique, as while it focuses on true crime, it is specifically interested in those who have been wrongfully convicted of those crimes.

"Each episode will introduce an exonerated person and the story of how the criminal justice system failed them," the site explains.

If there is anything scarier than being sentenced to life for a crime you didn't commit, we have yet to hear it.

A murder investigation is currently underway after a Donegal woman was found dead by police in the popular Indian resort state of Goa.

The woman, 28, is reported to have suffered injuries to her face and head. 

The body was found "under mysterious circumstances, in a nude state, at an isolated spot at Adnem, Devabag, Canacona on Tuesday morning," reports the Times of India.

"Considering the state in which the body was found, and the injuries visible on her face, we concluded that that it was a case of murder," Canacona PI Filomeno Costa told TOI.

Police have also said that a post-mortem will be carried out to discover whether a sexual assault took place. 

"Ireland’s Embassy in New Delhi is in contact with Indian authorities in relation to reports of an incident involving an Irish citizen,” reads a Department of Foreign Affairs statement to The Irish Times.

"The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade stands ready to provide consular assistance".
