2019 is set to be an absolute smash for rising Irish star Dermot Kennedy, if this latest announcement is anything to go by.

News has just hit that the singer-songwriter from Dublin is set to hit the Coachella stage this April, joining the ranks of headliners such as Ariana Grande, Childish Gambino and Tame Impala.

The world famous California music festival attracts attention from all over the world for the big names it procures, and now Irish talent will be joining them.

The singer made the big announcement over Twitter, writing that the opportunity is "a dream come true" for the artist,

Despite the fact that Kennedy has yet to release an album, he has sold a whopping 75,000 tickets worldwide in the last year alone following the release of his EP, Doves and Ravens.

His latest track, Power Over Me, has generated over 300 million streams globally and the Dubliner has over 2.5 million monthly listeners on Spotify..

He is also part of YouTube's first ever Ones To Watch list, and his 2019 tour which kicks off in May has sold out four nights in the Olympia Theatre in Dublin, Brixton's O2 Academy and Manchester's Albert Hall.

Irish singer-songwriter Gavin James was the only Irish artist to make the Coachella 2018 list, which attracted 99,000 concert-goers to the festival.

Congratulations to Dermot, he'll do us proud.

The music festival has released the entire weekend line-ups and it's UNREAL.

If you have tickets for Friday 12 & 19, you'll be treated to Childish Gambino.

Headlining April 13 and 20 is Australian rockers Tame Impala.

Ariana is clearly buzzing to take the stage later this year.

In a tweet she thanked Coachella, saying that she was "humbled and excited as all hell."

Fans were absolutely delighted to hear the singer would be owning the Sunday nights.

If you've managed to cover the cost of the pricey weekend – we are JEALOUS.

As you soak in the sun and the music, think of us in rainy Ireland, too poor to fork out for the festival.

We all crave new Beyoncé music every day, because without her collection of life-altering tunes, where would we be? God knows.

Mysterious music was leaked online the other day on iTunes, totally unauthorised.

The musical goddess has been known to randomly drop albums, ever since 2016's iconic Lemonade release, but this seemed a little too random…fans quickly realised it was old music though:

The old recordings were released under the name Queen Carter, and iTunes somehow allowed it to be uploaded until fans pointed out the strange mistake.

The albums Back Up, Rewind and Have Your Way appeared on Apple Music and Spotify, and was comprised of demos, unreleased tracks and demo songs by Queen Bey, which were removed a few hours later.

Songs such as After All Is Said and Done, a duet with Marc Nelson from 1999, Hollywood with Jay-Z from his 2006 album Kingdom Come, and another song from Austin Powers called Hey Goldmember.

A Missy Elliot collaboration from the rapper's second album was also on the tracklist, as well as Keep Giving Your Love to Me from Bad Boys II, and Control, a stand-alone song.

Beyoncé has dropped her last three albums as surprises, her 2013 self-titled project, Lemonade, and Everything is Love by The Carters.

We'll take ANYTHING she graciously offers, but unreleased songs without her authorisation is damn wrong, let the Queen have control over her own music.

Grammy-nominated R&B singer SZA was also victim to this same mysterious hacking, with old music being uploaded to iTunes under the name Sister Solana (her real name is Solana Rowe).

SZA addressed the album of old demo tracks being released on streaming services on her Instagram, calling the project "random scratches from 2015" and claimed that the songs are "def not new new!"

It's all very mysterious behaviour altogether.

Apple Music and Spotify have yet to comment on the matter, but we'd bet that Beyoncé ain't happy about this at all.

Who is the culprit making drama for no apparent reason, though? Spill the lemonade tea.

Glastonbury headliners are always a MAJOR deal, it's Coachella's British, more down-to-earth cousin, and the festival has attracted some of the music industry's biggest names since it began.

2018 saw the Kings of Leon, Jay-Z and The Verve headline the world class event, and now Mel B has let slip some possibly high-profile secrets regarding The Spice Girls and the infamous festival.

After selling out all nine of their stadium shows for their 2019 reunion tour, Scary Spice has now divulged that their sights are set on a huge career marker for the four-piece act, which is missing Posh Spice (sob).

Mel B let slip that "talks" are being carried out with bosses Michael and Emily Eavis, but she admits it would be a bit gas to bring their cheesy pop vibes to the edgy music festival stage.

"Glastonbury? It’s been talked about," she told The Sun on Thursday. "But we’re so pop and it’s so cool — that’ll be funny to me."

"I think Mel C would really appreciate us doing that — she’s the cool one. She’s the cool indie chick."

Victoria Beckham is bowing out of their reunion, which disappointed fans who wanted the clique back to their best.

So far, only Stormzy has been announced as Glastonbury's next headliner, who will perform on the Pyramid Stage in June 2019.

Emma Bunton has said that it would be 'nice' (don't gush, Emma, it's only Glasto…) and Mel C has expressed an interest in the headliner slot since May.

During their six-year pop reign, The Spice Girls never performed on a single music festival stage. The band became a hit back in 1994 but split when Geri Horner left the group in 2000.

Glastonbury returns to Worthy Farm in Somerset on June 26 2019 after taking a break.
