Men, move over – the top 40 most powerful women in the music industry have been unleashed and we ARE feeling it.

It's been a big year for music and women, particularly in Hollywood with all the social movements.

Now this year’s Woman’s Hour Power List has been published and it comes as no surprise that a familiar face topped the list.

Our gal Beyonce napped top spot, with Tay-tay closely following behind and Adele sits comfortably at fourth place.

Bey secured number one as the judges said she has used her music and position of influence to bring “black politics, civil rights activism and feminism into the mainstream”.

And honestly, no one will ever forget her UNREAL performance at Coachella this year, where she was the first black woman to headline the festival. – OWNING LIFE.

Swifty snaked into second place as the judges praised her for being “unafraid to take on big brands and call out injustice” while “empowering” the youth of today to be “strong women”. – We knew you were trouble Tay, Tay, but in all the right ways.

In third place, you mightn't have heard of her – but it should be known she's a badass boss lady.

Vanessa Reed is chief executive of the PRS Foundation, an organisation that funds new music and talent development.

The judges were highly impressed with her ability to get international festivals on board to pledge for gender parity.  – As are we.

Having Ed Sheeran on your team can never be a bad thing.

Which is exactly what Westlife thought when they decided to reunite.

The band, who are gearing up for a massive comeback, have drafted in Ed Sheeran to co-write their latest single.

The boyband reportedly want to reach younger fans with their music and who better than multi-award-winning superstar Ed Sheeran?

It was revealed that the band, who split six years ago, were getting back together albeit with one less member, Brian McFadden.

It has been said that the group were desperate to have the 27-year-old pen the track.

“It took quite some time to pull together and has been done totally behind closed doors, but he has finally given them the right record to make it happen.”

“Having Ed involved is a huge coup. They think he will give them a contemporary edge for their reunion.''

“They have already recorded the song and are delighted with the results. They’re just pulling together the final promo details including a video before they unveil it. It’s going to be huge.''

Westlife went their separate ways in October 2011, after selling more than 44 million of records worldwide as well as having 26 UK Top 10 hits, 14 UK Number One Singles and seven chart-topping albums.

With Ed on board, we're sure their next single is guaranteed to be a hit too.

Westlife fans, this is for you.

The iconic pop group of the 1990's are reuniting and social media is having a field day.

After calling it a day in 2012, the boy band have reportedly signed a new deal with Universal.

However, there is one catch…former member Brian McFadden won't be joining the reunion.

It looks like taking to the stage again to belt out classics like Swear It Again, What About Now? and You Raise Me Up will be Shane Filan, Mark Feehily, Nicky Byrne and Kian Egan.

Before they split,, the group had 14 UK number one singles and 50 million record sales worldwide.

This will be their first time playing to a crowd since their farewell tour six years ago in Croke Park.

Social media obviously went wild for this news with fans tweeting their excitement.

One wrote, ''I might actually have a meltdown if this is true though. Like imagine. Imagine Westlife being back. The four of them on one stage. Oh my God.''

Another said, ''Westlife reunion may possibly be one of the greatest things to happen in my lifetime.''

Are you as excited as we are?

A few weeks after singer Demi Lovato was suddenly hospitalised due to an apparent overdose, her mother Dianna De La Graza, has given an update on her daughter's recovery.

Demi is “doing really well.”

Lovato’s mother, Dianna De La Garza, spoke publicly about the incident for the first time in which she said it's been hard for the whole family, and she still gets frightened when thinking back on it. “I literally start to shake a little bit when I start to remember what happened that day,” she said.

In what only must have added to the distressing situation, she explained that on the day her daughter was taken ill, her phone was bombarded with messages from people expressing concern for her daughter but that she herself was unaware of what had happened until she spoke to the star’s assistant. She added that she was "in shock" but that she and her family quickly rushed to Lovato's side in hospital in Los Angeles.

“We got there as quickly as we could. [my daughters] Dallas and Madison and I jumped out of the car at the emergency room and ran into the emergency room to be by her side. She just didn’t look good, at all. She was in bad shape. But I said to her, ‘Demi, I’m here. I love you’. And at that point she said back to me, ‘I love you, too’.”

The Skyscraper singer was taken to hospital in July and later wrote a message to fans on her Instagram page saying she had learned addiction is “not something that disappears or fades with time” but that she would "keep fighting."

De La Garza thanked fans for their support – celebrities, friends and fans have all publicly spoken of the support and strength they wanted to offer Demi as she recovers – and said that she was feeling positive due to her daughter's current condition.

"[She is] doing really well”, adding: “She’s happy. She’s healthy. She’s working on her sobriety, and she’s getting the help she needs. That in itself encourages me about her future and about the future of our family.”

Demi is known for her open and honest conversations when it comes to her personal struggles with addiction and other health issues. We hope she's recovering and getting the help and continued support she deserves.

It's T minus 24 hours until we'll be heading off, backpack loaded down with cheaps cans and glitter, to Electric Picnic and we're sick with excitement.

Bring on three days of camping, dancing, and soaking up everything that the Stradbally festival has to offer.

If you're anything like us, you'll be up at the crack of dawn buzzing to go and get on the road.

If not, you might wanna reconsider your travel plans for tomorrow morning, EP organisers have warned.

They have told the expected 50,000 revellers to to give themselves a bit more time than usual to get to the campsite due to major roadworks.

"We are urging everyone heading to Electric Picnic this Friday to give themselves plenty of time as roadworks are likely to considerably add to journey times," a spokesperson said.

"We would strongly recommend people to leave as early as possible and also to car pool if possible."

Sounds doable, right?

The on-going roadworks on the M7 are to blame for this as they have reduced junctions 8-11 to just two lanes with a 60km/hr speed limit on this stretch of road.

Annoying as it may be, who wants to get held up in traffic when they could be chilling out in the Jimi Hendrix campsite?

Where it all begins. #ElectricPicnic

If you're wondering what kind of clothes to pack, it looks like the weekend is set to be mainly dry with a mix of cloud and sunshine – we'll take that!

Sunday, bowever, might get a bit rainy so chuck in a raincoat just in case.

While we want to have fun at EP, we can't forget that safety should always come first.

Festival boss Melvin Benn has said to "behave safely and behave well but come and have the craic".

Sounds good to us – now roll on tomorrow!

''Why does it always raaainn on meeeee….''

Yes, get ready for a blast of '90s post-Britpop nostalgia as Travis head to Dublin later this year.

They're bringing The Man Who album back to our Fair City, where they first performed it way back in 1999.

The band will play a special show at the Olympia Theatre on Sunday, 9th December.

The album was the biggest selling UK album in 2000, spent 11 weeks at Number 1, and gave us songs like Driftwood, Turn and their iconic tune, Why Does It Always Rain On Me.

“Songs are like emotional bookmarks in time,” frontman Fran Healy said.

“When you hear a song you are transported to those times and feel strong echoes of the feelings you felt. Rarely does an album have this ability so performing.''

Singer/guitarist Fran Healy, bassist Dougie Payne, guitarist Andy Dunlop and drummer Neil Primrose will be bringing you right back to the era of practically non-existent eyebrows, platform shoes and slip dresses over t-shirts.

Tickets from €44.05 go on sale this Friday 17th August at 9am via Ticketmaster.

Snap 'em up before everyone else does.

We are well into festival season, which has been speculator thanks to some decent Irish sun.

As Electric Picnic draws closer, we cannot contain our excitement.

But before you get the kicks out, glitter on and rock the double buns, you have to plan what and who you're gonna see at the epic festival.

Lucky for you, we and Electric Ireland have one to pencil into the weekend-long fun.

Electric Ireland clearly got the memo about how much we adore bobbin' to our fav ninety tracks.

They've put together a Throwback Stage line-up and announced that B*witched are to headline. (FAN-GIRL SCREAMING)

We are clearly thrilled with seeing our gals, Edele and Keavy Lynch, Lindsay Armaou, and Sinéad O'Carroll belt out ‘C’est La Vie’.

We can't forget "Rollercoaster", "To You I Belong" and "Blame It on the Weatherman" which all smashed their way to number one in the English and Irish charts, upon their release.

We highly recommend that you splash that colour and rock the 90s denim as you dance along to the nostalgia.

Past throwback line-ups brought by Electric Ireland has seen some of our golden oldies like 5ive, S Club Party, Ace of Base, Bonnie Tyler, 2 Unlimited, The Vengaboys and Bananarama.

If you don't know any of these acts, you're dead to us – joking – but check them out on Youtube as they hold a special place in our heart.

Additionally, for extra brownie points go check out the acts in this year's line-up during the festival.

The full-line up for the throwback fun is due to be released shortly.

Electric picnic will be held on August 31 to September 2nd.

For anyone who managed to secure tickets, I hope you feel the jealousy seeping through the screen.

Hope isn't entirely lost, as some lucky duck will win a pair of weekend tickets by shareing a screenshot of ‘C’est La Vie’ streaming on Spotify using #ThrowbackStage and tag @ElectricIreland on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.

As if we needed another reason to love Taylor Swift even more!

During her performance in Philadelphia Saturday night, the young popstar encountered show-stopping technical difficulties.

As a part of her dynamic performances, the singer is usually transferred to different stages throughout the show. This time, however, she was left floating above the crowd. Taylor was being lifted into the air on a platform when it halted to a stop.

She told fans, “I'm pretty sure I'm stuck up here […] It's supposed to take me to the other side of the stadium.”

The experienced performer remained calm and positive about the mishap, commenting on how nice the view was from her position. After a few moments, the singer decided to take control of the situation.

Descending the stairs down to the main stage, Taylor sang two songs acapella until the technical glitch was fixed. She smartly chose the fan favourites of “Our Song” and “Wildest Dreams,” and the audience sang along delighted with the surprise.

This was the first time the singer encountered any problems during her world tour performances, and Swifties went wild for her impromptu songs! Fans flooded twitter with their admiration for Taylor, saying she kept things professional and handled the situation brilliantly.

Taylor’s response during the set malfunction impressed all concert attendees in Philadelphia. The tour will continue across the States with no delays.

Nice job, Taylor. We can't wait for your next performance!

Music lovers, rejoice! Vance Joy has just announced a second Dublin date at The Olympia Theatre on November 16.

Tickets go on sale at 10 am on Wednesday, July 4.

Tickets cost a mere €26 but they’ll be swiped up so don’t forget to set your alarm for Wednesday.

Vance Joy won the hearts of many with the ukulele-led charm of instant classic ‘Riptide’, He consolidated on that first impression with further anthems ‘Mess is Mine’, ‘Georgia’, ‘Fire and the Flood’ and ‘Straight Into Your Arms’.

Those hits all found a home on 2014's debut Dream Your Life Away – the record hitting No.1 in Australia, No.2 in Canada and Top 20 in the UK and US.

It’s fair to say that the Melbourne turned global star is sounding better than ever on Nation of Two. Joy’s compelling vocals dance around thoughtful lyrics and luscious melodies, and while he may have the special skill of making it all sound effortless, every word and metaphor is there for a reason.

Now, with a swag of exquisite new material added to his already impressive repertoire, comes time to start the crazy cycle all over again, this time with the bonus of simultaneous global releases and a ready-made audience.

“It's a luxury to have made one album and it’s nice to know people are waiting to hear some new songs,” the Riptide singer gushed.

Tickets are available from a www.ticketmaster.ie  on July 4.
