This new musical all about Princess Diana and her rise to becoming one of the most influential women of the 20th century, was supposed to open on Broadway on March 31, before the coronavirus pandemic put it on pause.

However, luckily for us Diana: A True Musical Story will be available all over the world, for us to watch from the comfort of our own homes, launching on Netflix in 2021. The musical will star Broadway actor Jeanna de Waal as Princess Diana, Roe Hartrampf as Prince Charles, Erin Davie as Camilla Parker Bowles and two-time Tony Award–winning actor Judy Kaye as Queen Elizabeth.

The cast spoke to People all about the preparation involved in taking on such iconic roles. Jeanne de Waal explained how she spent hours devouring YouTube clips of Diana in interviews, and even watched an eight-minute video of Princess Diana in ‘mom-mode’ with Prince William and Prince Harry.

“She’s not speaking, but you can see the way that she’s caring for Harry and William, and how she relates to them. How she watches so intensely… She’s very present in every single moment that she’s involved with,” Jeanne described.

The decision to launch Diana: A True Musical Story on Netflix is following the hugely successful release of Broadway musical, Hamilton, which became available on Disney+ in early July, causing a 74% increase in downloads of the streaming service.

"We speak for the entire company when we say that we couldn’t be more excited to finally be able to share our show with theatre-lovers everywhere," said the show's producers in a joint statement. "Though there is no substitute for the live theatre, we are honoured to be a part of the quality entertainment that Netflix provides its subscribers worldwide."

While Diana: A True Musical Story will be premiering on Netflix in 2021, theatre-lovers will still be able to catch a live performance of the show later next year, as the new Broadway opening date has been moved to May 25. The original cast will be filmed for the Netflix production, on the stage of their Longacre Theatre in New York, in front of an empty audience.

The Devil Wears Prada musical is officially happening and we couldn’t be happier. Sir Elton John is set to pen the music for the production so there’s no doubt it will be as incredible as we hope.

According to producers, the stage adaption of the 2006 movie will debut in Chicago next summer before making an expected move to Broadway later in 2020.

The production will take place in Chicago’s James M Nederlander Theatre on July 14, 2020 and we’re already looking at flights.

The musical will be directed by Tony award winner Anna D Shapiro. Paul Rudnick will write the book for the musical.

There has been no word on the cast just yet, but we can’t help but wonder who will be able to match Meryl Streep’s performance as Miranda Priestly?

We can only wish the iconic actress would return to the role that earned her an Oscar nomination.

It's one of the most iconic television shows in history and one that no amount of reruns can ruin.

And with a Friends reunion still uncertain this looks like it will be perfect for those eager fans who want their fix.

To celebrate the sitcom's 25th anniversary, Friendsical, written by Miranda Larson, will open at the Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham in July.

It is a parody based on our favourite characters Joey, Rachel, Monica, Chandler, Phoebe, and Ross.

The production will travel the nation, playing in cities like Newcastle, Blackpool, Southampton, and Croydon.

This plot for the play goes as follows: ''When Ross’ wife leaves him for another woman, he fears he will never find love again. But then Rachel runs back into his life…will he end up with his one true love?''

It continues, ''Joey and the gang take on naked Thursdays, a power cut, and a dinosaur convention and there’ll be original songs such as ‘(He’s her) Lobster!’, ‘Richard’s Moustache’ and ‘You’re Over Me? When Were You Under Me?’''

It sounds AMAZING.

The full casting and crew for Friendsical will be announced soon but in the meantime, we're going to re-watch every episode to get geared up for this fantastic show.

We really needed news like this in our lives right now, with all the negative news swirling around our auras, sucking the healthy energy from us.

All we want is a cleanse, and Taylor has delivered once again.

Not alone has she given fans her Reputation tour documentary on Netflix (breathtaking, BTW), she has now confirmed her role in the brand new Cats movie. MEOW GAL.

The duo took to the Golden Globes stage together to present a few weks ago, with the Luther star saying she "has got chops" and "holds her own". Damn right she does.

Elba spoke about working with the multi-talented artist;

"Taylor and I have known each other for a couple of years and we’re cool you know. She’s a good girl; she’s a great artist and she’s got a really great heart," he said.

"I’m so excited to work with her in this film, she’s going to be amazing." Obvi?

Taylor has been candidly dating actor Joe Alwyn for the last two years, maybe she'll get some acting tips off her beau?

Broadway is about to get a whole lot more romantic; it's been announced that The Notebook, AKA the most heart-string tugging film/novel of all time, is coming to the stage as a musical.

Singer-songwriter Ingrid Michaelson shared the news on NBC's Today Show yesterday, and revealed that she has been developing the musical for over a year.

The 2004 movie starred Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams, and sparked a real-life love story between the pair as well as love blossoming on-screen.

The original novel was published in 1996 and shot Sparks to fame.

Despite mediocre initial film reviews, the movie became a smash hit which has remained iconic in the romantic-drama genre.

Gosling and McAdams were relatively unknown at the time of filming, but their chemistry was undeniably. The pair met on set, and dated from 2005 until 2007, and again in 2008 before splitting up for good.

I have a confession to make… I have seen Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again three times. I know, I know, there are so many incredible movies out at the moment, but there’s something about this cheesy film that I just can’t resist.

Sure, it is pretty cringe-worthy and goofy, but the touching storyline of Sophie and her family trying to cope with the loss of Donna really tugs at your heart strings.

Seeing the adventures of young Donna unfold on screen was really moving and extremely enjoyable because I was madly in love with the three actors playing young Sam, Bill and Harry.

Okay, maybe the main reason I keep going to see this film is Josh Dylan, but it is also the friendship, the setting (take me to Greece now, please) and glorious duo that is Julie Walters and Christine Baranski.

I promised myself I wouldn’t go see the movie a fourth time, however, when I spotted this upcoming event I broke that promise instantly.

The Lighthouse Cinema is hosting a sing-along screening of Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again and I will without a doubt be there singing (badly) along to every single word of every single song.

“One of the most popular films of Summer 2018 returns for a one day only Sing-Along event! Not that you'll need any encouragement singing ABBA songs but feel free to give it loads.”

“Get ready to sing and dance, laugh and love all over again.”

The screening takes place on September 16 and tickets are available here.

Sundays are all fun and games until reality hits and you have to get yourself organised for another week of work. The Sunday night fear is something we all experience, but fear not, we have the perfect solution that is bound to lift your spirits tonight.

If anything is going to bring a smile to yourself tonight it’s a musical. Sometimes all you need is to curl up on the sofa and watch Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth and Amanda Seyfried sing and dance to ABBA’s greatest hits.

Forget about your 6am start and watch Donna and the Dynamos shimmy to Dancing Queen. Ignore the fact that you have a mountain of unwashed dishes in the sink and prance around your living room to Voulez Vous. Boost your ego by listening to Pierce Brosnan singing SOS (God loves a trier.)

RTÉ 1 are making our Sunday night a hell of a lot better by showing Mamma Mia at 9.30 pm tonight.

The movie is one of our all time favourites. We know it’s cheesy, but it’s the ultimate feel-good movie.

Mamma Mia is a musical/rom-com that will make your heart feel warm, leave your sides hurting from laughing and turn you into a blubbering mess all within the space of 109 minutes.

It follows the story of Sophie (Amanda Seyfried) who has grown up not knowing who her father was, but as her wedding day approaches, she wants her dad to be there to give her away.

She takes matters into her own hands and invites her mum's (Meryl Streep) three former lovers- Harry (Colin Firth), Bill (Stellan Skarsgard) and Sam (Pierce Brosnan)- to the wedding. One of the three men is her father, and Sophie believes if she gets to know them she’ll find out who her dad is.

Mamma Mia is on RTÉ1 tonight at 9.30 pm.

Saved by the Bell was our all time favourite TV show.

We fancied Zack; wanted to be Kelly; lusted after Lisa's clothes and hoped to have Jessie's brains someday.

But now, the producer of the show wants to turn it into a musical… but it seems like it's only in the very early production stages.

Peter Engel told TMZ that he wanted Justin Bieber to play the lead role of Zack, but unfortunately the Biebs is too old now.

Plus, did they really think they'd get JB to do a musical?!

And as for the original cast, Peter said "They won't come back. They're all so busy. They're old enough to be the teachers now.

"Hopefully they'll come to the show… I know they will."

As for a writer for the musical, Peter says he has some big names in mind.

"I went to some of the top writers like Lynn Mamet because he's a huge Bell fan. Anything he could help us with because he's brilliant."

So, a Saved by the Bell musical could actually be happening.
