It can be hard to keep up with The Happy Pear brothers.

Having began their business as a simple vegetable shop, the energetic pair have since watched their vegan food brand transform into one of the most recognisable in Ireland.

With books, cafés and their own range of delicious plant-based products, it's safe to say that twins, David and Stephen Flynn, have made their mark on the Irish food industry – but they're not stopping there.

The lads look set to showcase their culinary skills on a new Netflix show, due for release in June 2018.

According to The Happy Pear's official Twitter account, the duo will appear on the upcoming I'll Have What Phil's Having, a food and travel series presented by Everybody Loves Raymond creator, Phil Rosenthal.

The upcoming Netflix series will follow Phil as he explores some of Europe's hidden culinary gems, and it looks like he's a big fan of Irish cuisine.

Earlier this week, the presenter gave a shout out to a a chip shop in Clonakilty, and just yesterday he declared he declared that Irish soda bread and butter was “one of the more delicious things you can eat in this world.”

This man clearly knows his stuff.

Megan Ellison and Sue Naegle are also set to work alongside the brothers, while The Incredible Hulk actor, Tim Blake Nelson is set to take on the series' leading role.

Okay, so we have good news and we have bad news.

The bad news is, Disney is fleeing the comfortable confines of Netflix by severing its deal with the streaming service.

From 2019, US Disney fans will find that their favourite new fairy tales will no longer be part of the service.

The good news is, Disney is taking the opportunity to branch out, and create a Disney streaming service of their very own.

As well as playing host to classic Disney films, the service will host TV shows and ESPN-branded sports.

There will be separate streaming channels for the various TV genres.

Old movies may remain on Netflix, but upcoming Disney movies will probably go straight to the Disney-owned streaming programme.

The service is expected to follow the available on-demand business model, with a monthly subscription service.

Disney previously launched its own service, called Disney Life, in the UK in 2015.

Stop everything!

Netflix have just released the official trailer for the third season of drug cartel drama, Narcos.

Now that the hunt for Pablo Escobar has ended, the DEA have turned their attention to the powerful Cali Cartel, led by its four kings.

Unlike Escobar, this cartel prefers to bribe government officials and keep its violent actions away from the headlines.

However, just as Gilberto, AKA the “boss of bosses”, announces his plans to walk away form the business, DEA agent, Javier Peña, enlists the help of American and Colombian law enforcement to take it down.

The new season of Narcos opens a complex world of new figures including Franklin Jurado, the cartel’s money launderer who unknowingly puts his wife, Christina (Kerry Bishe) in mortal danger and David Rodriguez, Miguel’s oldest son, who is reluctant at first to take a leading role in the cartel structure.

All rules have changed for the narcos and their opponents, but the questions is – will they realise this before it's too late?

Narcos season three, premieres globally on Netflix on September 1.

Described as the 'rom-com for people who hate rom-coms', Netflix's latest original release, The Incredible Jessica James, follows the story of an aspiring, New York-based playwright who is recovering from a recent break-up.

Jessica James, played by name sake, Jessica Williams, is forced to go on a date with the recently divorced Boone (played by our very own Chris O'Dowd), and the pair discover how to navigate life post-breakup.

The film landed on Netflix's streaming service over the weekend and judging by the reviews so far, this is about to become one of our new found faves.

"Some people are born to be movie stars, and "The Incredible Jessica James" successfully makes that case for leading lady Jessica Williams." – Geoff Berkshire, Variety

"The Incredible Jessica James isn't reinventing the rom-com, but it doesn't need to. It's sweet, smart, and funny, and makes me want to see Jessica Williams star in all of the things." –  Erika W. Smith, Bust Magazine.

"O'Dowd and Williams play well off of each other, conveying the stages of a new relationship from awkward first date to first big fight with an easy and believable chemistry." –  Katie Rife, AV Club

2017 has been some year for TV shows.

With the likes of Big Little Lies, The Handmaid's Tale, The OA, and 13 Reasons Why, they hit just about every genre that we could imagine… and they didn't disappoint either.

Stranger Things was on that list too, and now it's the first one to get a trailer for its second series.

And God is it good.

The second season is set in 1984 and follows the story of Will Byers who has been rescued from the Upside Down.

However, everything is not as it seems, and very scary things are still lying underneath, threatening to break through.

All of the cast is back again too, with Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Natalia Dyer, Cara Buono, Charlie Heaton, and Matthew Modintells making a comeback.

The series will have nine episodes, and will debut on October 27.

We. Can't. Wait.

OK, we'll be honest, our hearts still flutter at the mere mention of Gerard Way, and if you ever went through an emo phase as a teenager, you'll know exactly what we're talking about.

Ever since the band parted ways in 2013, the My Chemical Romance frontman has focussed more on his second love in life – comic books.

The Umbrella Academy, a comic book series he co-created with illustrator, Gabriel Ba, tells the story of a dysfunctional family of superheroes who adopted by a mysterious millionaire.

The comic was set for the silver screen back in 2009, but now Netflix have confirmed that they will adapt the comic for a 10-part live-action series, due to hit screens some time in 2018.

In a statement of his official wedsite, Gerard wrote: “It’s really happening!”

“Gabriel and I can’t wait to dive in and help make this a very memorable series with the team that is forming right now!”

He later added: “I am thrilled that The Umbrella Academy has found a home at Netflix. I couldn’t think of a better place for the vision Gabriel Ba and myself had when creating the comic, and cannot wait for people to experience that world as a live action show.”

The show is still in the pre-production stages, but according to Geek.com, Gerard looks set for the role of co-executive producer.

And as for the script, the pilot episode was adapted and written by Jeremy Slater, who created last year’s Exorcist TV series, so naturally, we're expecting good things.

Noughties kids keep your eyes peeled!

In August 2016, Netflix confirmed the return of the hit sci-fi series, Stranger Things, for a second season.

Then, in February this year, fans were treated to the first trailer during the live Super Bowl broadcast.

And now, Netflix have finally confirmed a date for the show return – October 27, 2017.

In a press release, Netlfix provided a description of the new series:

“It’s 1984 and the citizens of Hawkins, Indiana are still reeling from the horrors of the demagorgon and the secrets of Hawkins Lab.”

“Will Byers has been rescued from the Upside Down but a bigger, sinister entity still threatens those who survived.”

Sorry if you had plans on October 27 – looks like you might have to reschedule.

There is nothing better than snuggling up on a rainy evening and watching some Netflix.

The on-demand streaming service offers some of the best original series and epic classic movies, but it also plays host to some informative and groundbreaking documentaries.

Be entertained while growing your knowledge of niche topics with these five hair-raising docs.

Nobody Speak: Trials of the Free Press

Nobody Speak is a powerful documentary, exposing the vulnerability of the free press as it struggles to protect its right of free speech within the realm of public interest.

Focusing on the Hulk Hogan vs Gawker case, in which Hogan sued the gossip site for leaking his sex tape, and on Donald Trump's vilification of the press, this makes for a riveting hour and twenty minutes.

American Occult

This documentary series focuses on a slew of American true crimes which involved satanic or occult elements.

From cult leaders to rogue bands of murderous teens, the series explores the vile murders carried out in the name of Satan.

The Keepers

Another harrowing documentary series for true crime fans, this documentary has been one-to-watch on Netflix.

The Keepers tells the story of the unsolved murder of Sister Cathy Cesnik, a nun and teacher from Baltimore, USA, and unearths some disturbing stories of abuse in the Catholic church while doing so.

The Queen of Versailles

This wickedly funny and insightful documentary focuses on the construction of one of the most expensive family homes ever built.

The insanely rich couple building the home discuss the rise and fall of the housing crisis while building their dream palatial mansion.

Dear Zachary: A Letter to a Son About His Father

This 2008 documentary will still be as riveting for true crime fans as it was almost a decade ago when it was made (one of the best things about Netflix – it maintains a treasure trove of old flicks).

The story revolves around the horrific crimes which ended the lives of a father and son. Warning: you will be moved to tears.

“It was a good show, and I was privileged to work with incredible talent, but living my life as a caricature was hard even if only for two months (sic).

"Yes, I can be difficult. No, I’m not a dick. No, someone named Shane never cheated on me.

She continued: "It will be nice to someday tell the story of what’s happened in the last few years. Ppl read the headline, not the correction, I’ve learned.”

Does anyone else remember those Give yourself Goosebumpos books by R.L Stine?

The 1995 interactive version of the classic Goosebumps tales allowed the reader to choose their own destiny in the books by making choices for the hero or heroine, with the aim of the game being to get the the end of the book safely, defeating all the monsters, tests of logic and chance encounters as you went.

Now, Netflix is making this process a reality for movie lovers.

You can now officially choose the twists and turns that your Netflix film takes with their brand new feature.

Netflix has introduced Interactive Storytelling, and has rolled out the experience with a kid's classic, Puss in Boots.

'Netflix members are in control of how the stories unfold,' reads a new post on the Netflix blog.

'The intertwining of our engineers in Silicon Valley and the creative minds in Hollywood has opened up this new world of storytelling possibilities on Netflix.'

'The children’s programming space was a natural place for us to start since kids are eager to “play” with their favourite characters and already inclined to tap, touch and swipe at screens.'

'They also talk to their screens, as though the characters can hear them. Now, that conversation can be two-way.'

'It’s really about finding the right stories – and storytellers – that can tell these complex narratives and bring them to life in a compelling way.'

This is truly the stuff of our childhood dreams.
