Bono is facing surgery following a bike fall in Central Park in New York yesterday.

The U2 star has injured his arm and it seems the incident was bad enough that the band have been forced to cancel their week-long residency on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon.

The gig was supposed to begin Monday but U2 have taken to their website to confirm the disappointing news: “It looks like we will have to do our Tonight Show residency another time – we’re one man down. Bono has injured his arm in a cycling spill in Central Park and requires some surgery to repair it. We’re sure he’ll make a full recovery soon, so we’ll be back! Much thanks to Jimmy Fallon and everyone at the show for their understanding.”

Sounds like a nasty fall if he isn’t able to perform – get better soon Bono!

Jay-Z was performing at this year’s Global Citizen Festival in Ney York City’s Central Park – and in true Jay-Z style, he had a trick up his sleeve!

To help him close his epic performance, he invited his wife, Beyoncé on-stage and the couple closed the show with epic performances of “Holy Grail” and “Forever Young”.

We’re not going to lie, if we were at a concert to see Jay-Z and then Beyoncé came out? We’re not sure we’d survive it to be honest.

That is one lucky, lucky crowd!

The couple have only just finished up their On The Run tour together, it seems as if they haven’t quite gotten sick of each other yet, which we love to see!

Whenever Siva Kaneswaran from The Wanted tries to do a good deed, it never seems to go well.

Back in April, he and his band mate Jay McGuiness were attacked by a homeless guy with a knife when they tried to give him money. And now? He’s been punched in the face after trying to save a woman who was being attacked by her boyfriend!

The Irish singer was walking around New York City last month with his rep, when he saw the woman being attacked, and without a hint of hesitation, he ran over to break up the fight!

Apparently, Siva told the guy to chill out, only to be told: “This isn’t about you!” So instead, he tried to hold him off, and got a black eye in the process. Thankfully though, the woman managed to escape while Siva was holding her boyfriend down. The attacker then fled the scene as well.

He told reporters: "I am no hero, I just wanted to prevent her from being hit."

A hero AND modest? Well, he’s almost too good to be true! Siva is hoping the woman will contact him so that he knows she’s ok. Here’s hoping his act of bravery made a difference!

He met and fell hopelessly in love with his future wife Cheryl in South Africa on New Year’s Eve.

But mere days before, Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini was cuddling up to the daughter of Hollywood legend Clint Eastwood in New York!

That was a very busy Christmas for the French businessman!

Aspiring actress Francesca, 21, posted a series of pictures to her Instagram page from her time in New York with Jean-Bernard over Christmas 2013.

Below the snap of them in front of the Christmas tree, Francesca wrote, “Sometimes missing your flight home is a blessing #NYC #christmastime.”

In another picture Francesca smiled as she wrapped her arms around Jean-Bernard at the top of the Empire State Building.

And in a third photograph, the pair cosied up around a table for dinner with a group of friends, smiling and holding hands.

The snaps were posted only days after the aspiring actress annulled her week-long marriage to record producer Jordan Feldtein, after marrying in a small ceremony in Vegas on November 17th.

While the snaps definitely have the look of a holiday romance, a source close to Jean-Bernard said he and Franceca were just friends.

Hmmmm…if you say so!

Its official Binky Felstead and her boyfriend, Alex Mytton, have split up for good.

Binky’s sister A-L, who also stars in the MIC New York spin-off, said that both Binky and Alex have both called it quits on their relationship.

"They’re not together now. I didn’t actually see any of those scenes but all I know is that they’ve gone their separate ways now. I know it hasn’t been easy for her but she’s trying to move on and build up her confidence again."

Binky faced a lot of criticism for staying with Alex, despite all the cheating allegations surrounding him. A-L said it was difficult for her to see Binky in that relationship.

"Although it was blatantly obvious to me and mum what she was doing wasn’t right, her argument was that she had to learn these lessons herself. It was difficult but it seems that she’s come through it now."

But A-L says Binky has finally moved on and has even met some new people in New York.

"Well Binky certainly met people out in New York– they were off to the Hamptons and doing lots of things so I think she met a lot of new people. So yeah, I think she had a nice time when she was out there.”

Finding love isn’t easy, and no one knows better about this than Dan Perino. Dan decided to take his search for a new girlfriend to the streets with a usual poster campaign.

So, instead of hitting the clubs, or trying online dating – Dan decided to place flyers all around the centre of New York City.

The poster includes a picture of himself and reassurance that he’s on a serious mission for love.

“I’m really looking for a girlfriend. This is not a joke. Just tired of the singles scene and hoping to meet the right person. I am a professional artist and creative person. You know who you are. To me each and every person is beautiful. Open to the possibility of the relationship morphing into something more profound”.

Dan said that he has put up over 500 flyers over the course of four days, in an effort to find a new beau. However, it seems to have worked as he’s already received over 400 calls as of last Friday. Sadly, despite the huge amount of interest, Dan still hasn’t found The One.

Don’t give up Dan, she’s out there!

Ooh, this does not sound good at all, at all.

It has been reported that Queen Bey was spotted house-hunting alone in New York City recently, sparking further rumours that her marriage to Jay-Z is well and truly on the rocks.

The New York Post have said that the star was seen viewing an apartment in NYC’s Chelsea and looked as if it was “on the sly.”

A source also said that it was unlikely Jay-Z would leave their current NYC apartment…what does that mean?!

The report is just one of many surrounding the power couple in recent weeks.

We really hope they can work things out – if Bey and Jay can’t make it, who can?!

Matt Adams is on a mission to get us back to basics, when it comes to communicating with our loved ones.

Like ourselves, the New Yorker has used social media and other forms of technology to communicate with loved ones. So, he decided to create a project to get people writing again.

He set up an area with paper, pens, clipboards and even crayons to encourage people to sit down and write a postcard to someone special.

Much to his surprise, many people stopped to write a postcard to someone they cared about. Watch the results below.

A sign put up in the window of a New York bar and restaurant seems to have sparked a big reaction!

The sign in the window of 'The Dock Bar and Gill' in Montauk reads, “No to Yapping Mutts, Irish Drunks, Screaming Kids, Cells Phones, Strollers and Public Restrooms.”

Pauline Turley, originally from Co. Down in Northern Ireland, noticed the sign and told Irishcentral.com, “I was taken aback by the way that kind of stereotype was so blatantly displayed. ‘No Irish Drunks,’ that’s very pointed.”

The bar’s owner, George Watson said the sign is okay because he is of Irish decent and is “also a drunk at times”.

“There’s a large Irish contingent out here and once they attacked me – verbally – so we added ‘No Irish Drunks’ to the list. If you spoke about any other religion or race they would probably take offense to it, but the Irish have a sense of humour,” said George.

Pauline admits most Irish would probably see the funny side of this, but suggests maybe that isn’t a good thing.

She said, “Why would you put up a sign like that knowing no one else would tolerate it? There’s that line ‘God invented drink so the Irish wouldn’t take over the world,’ and we do laugh at, but I think there are very serious undertones that we as Irish people need to think about and say ‘Hold on a minute, is that how we want to be seen?"

“I love Irish bars and hospitality; they’re the best in the world. I love to socialize and tell stories and have a good glass, but we have to remind people that there’s a lot more to the Irish than their perceived ability to drink," she said.

What do you think – offensive, or all in good humour?
