Fashion icon Naomi Campbell has just been named as the new face of Irish brand Newbridge Silverware, and was in Dublin to celebrate last week.

Over the next two years, the style queen will front campaigns for Newbridge, kicking off with their Little Blue Box drive. Welcoming "one of the the most beautiful and recognisable faces in the world" to the brand, Newbridge CEO William Doyle said Naomi was an "ideal fit."

Before she rushed off to film a Late Late Show pre-record with Ryan Tubridy, Naomi spoke to gathered Irish media in the sumptuous surroundings of Dublin's Merrion Hotel.

And when it came to questions we couldn't resist asking one or two toughies.

Such as, for example, what a recognisable face like Ms. Campbell would get up to if she was suddenly invisible for a day. Check out her answer below…

It is one of the most iconic films of all time: the wonderfully eerie, The Birds, which was directed by Alfred Hitchcock and released in 1963.

It stars Tippi Hedren as the wealthy socialite, Melanie Daniels. And in a film of remarkably few characters, Melanie is central to everything – and undeniably her shock of brilliantly blonde hair and her glamorous demeanour has made a lasting impression on audiences for more than half a century.

Incredibly, she wears just two costumes for the entire duration of the movie: a dark suit with black leather gloves which is seen as the story opens, and the instantly-recognisable green suit which she wears for the rest of her time on-screen. Indeed, only a fox fur coat was added and removed to alter her look.

And now that very same suit has landed in Ireland. As part of a new exhibition dedicated to the Hitchcock classic, it is available to view at the Newbridge Silverware Museum Of Style Icons.

Also on show is Ms Hedren’s white satin evening coat which she wore to the 1963 Cannes Film Festival, as well as to The Birds' London premiere.

This is the first time the beautiful item has been displayed anywhere in the world.

The green suit, a copy of which was worn this week by model Sarah Morrissey, was actually acquired by Newbridge Silverware CEO William Doyle in 2007. However, for the last two years it has been on loan to the V&A museum in London as part of its Hollywood Costume exhibition.

Both it and the white coat were created by Hollywood costumier, Edith Head, and the green suit is based on Ms Head’s design for Grace Kelly as Lisa Fremont in Hitchcock’s 1954 Rear Window.

It comprises of a sleeveless sheath wool dress with side darts, nipped-in waist and big buckle belt. It is teamed with a matching jacket with three-quarter raglan sleeves with turnback cuffs and patch pockets.

Hitchcock apparently chose green because he felt it had a cool quality that set Melanie apart from the residents of Bodega Bay, where the film is set.

Commenting on the opening of the exhibition, William Doyle said; “We are delighted to welcome these iconic costumes back to the Museum Of Style Icons.”

He added: “Tippi’s green suit is not only a classic fashion item but it has become synonymous with some of the most famous scenes in film history. We look forward to welcoming film and fashion fans to the museum over the coming months.”

Newbridge Silverware’s Museum Of Style Icons houses garments and artefacts once worn by the likes of Audrey Hepburn, Princess Grace, and Michael Jackson. Entrance is free and it is open seven days a week. Find out more here.

With so many bold spring prints on the catwalks this season, it seems SS15 is all about making a serious style statement.

When it comes to power dressing, accessories are key, and we've fallen in love with Newbridge Silverware's new season eShe collection.

The eShe jewellery range was launched last year and the newest line is once again fronted by Irish model Rozanna Purcell.

Key pieces in the 2015 collection include a statement gold tone neckpiece with weave detail and blue and clear stones (€45.00), silver-plated knotted necklace (€30.00), gold tone black strap cuff (€25.00), silver tone collar with clear stones (€50.00) and silver plated bangles in a range of sizes (from €35.00).

The eShe range is the brainchild of Maedbh Doyle, the 16-year-old daughter of Newbridge Silverware's MD William Doyle. Maedbh wanted to make Newbridge Silverware a go-to brand for younger female consumers and so came up with the eShe idea as part of a Transition Year project. It's now hitting Irish shelves for the second year running – quite the achievement!

Speaking about the new range, William says: "When we debuted the eShe range in 2014 on the advice of my daughter Maedbh, we did so with the aim of bringing Newbridge Silverware to a new customer… The 2015 collection features empowering pieces that can be worn however and whenever the owner chooses and we are always excited to see how young women interpret our designs."

We can't wait to get our hands on some of the new pieces!

Two of Ireland’s most iconic brands have teamed up for a seriously stunning collection of jewellery, homeware and gifts.

Guinness and Newbridge Silverware have put their unique Irish qualities into a brand new design collection, including the inspired ‘1759’ collection, signifying the date Arthur Guinness signed the lease at the iconic home of Guinness, St. James' Gate in Dublin.

Every piece of the delicate rose-gold plated and silver-plated pieces in the collection have the special date engrained onto them, instilling the unique Guinness element into the pieces.

Each watch also has a harp at the 17th and 59th minute – what an amazing touch! Also featured in the jewellery pieces are hops flowers – the flower of the plant that is used in the production of Guinness.

Not only are the pieces beautiful, they are also very affordable with prices starting at only €35.00. Meaning not only can we pick up the perfect Mother's Day gift for next month but we can also buy ourselves a little something too…

Irish rugby legend, Rob Kearney, is the face of the home and menswear collection for the exciting collaboration, saying:

“I am delighted to be working with Newbridge Silverware on their latest collaboration with Guinness. It is a great privilege to be associated with Newbridge Silverware as a distinctly iconic brand and to help launch the collection which represents heritage, style and exquisite craftsmanship.”

We agree with you there Rob and we cannot wait to get our hands on this amazing new collection that represents Irish culture perfectly.
