The Regulation of Termination of Pregnancy bill has been officially passed.

All of the amendments have been voted and the bill for the 8th Amendment is on its way to Aras an Uachtarain to be signed by Michael D Higgins.

The bill passed with 27 votes to 5.

The new law will allow abortion to take place up to 12 weeks, and after that  time if there is a foetal abnormality detected or danger to the woman's health.

Minister for Health Simon Harris confirmed the vote passed in a post on social media.

He wrote, ''Just over 200 days ago, you, the people of Ireland voted to repeal the 8th so we could care for women with compassion. Today we have passed the law to make this a reality. A vote to end lonely journeys, end the stigma and support women’s choices in our own country.''

The people of Ireland took to the polls last May to make abortion legal and now it will be from January 1.

Rob Lipsett has addressed claims that he was at the centre of an RTÉ Investigates episode last night.

The programme was all about the use of steroids in Ireland.

Video footage during the show featured what they described as a "well-known social media fitness blogger” buying the steroids.

Although the clip didn't identify the man as they changed his voice and disguised his face, the presenter did describe the individual as:  “Later, a well-known Social media fitness blogger enters the shop.”

“This man claims to be a natural athlete on his social media account, where he has thousands of followers. However, it soon emerged that his ripped physique is chemically induced,” the presenter added.

It was the description of a "well-known fitness influencer" that made viewers point the finger towards Rob.

Taking to Twitter, Rob addressed the controversy head on: "Apparently @RTEOne did some steroid documentary and everyone thinks I was in it and my face was blurred out haha."

"If I was on steroids do you think I’d be so stupid to go and talk about it on TV. They probably hired some knock off version of me."

In another tweet, he joked: "Also if I’m on steroids I need to get a refund cause they didn’t work, been basically the same size for years."

And then added: "Anyways cba watching the show, I’m sure it was interesting but I had nothing to do with it. Kinda want to meet the lad that everyone thinks is me though."

Hopefully Rob's denial of purchasing and using steroids will have a positive influence on his followers to avoid the drugs entirely.

Anabolic steroid misuse could lead to serious, even permanent, health problems such as: kidney problems or failure, liver damage and tumours.

Miley Cyrus stopped by Howard Stern's Siriux XM show yesterday to chat about her new song, Saturday Night live and her guest slot on the upcoming fifth series of dystopian Netflix thriller Black Mirror.

She dropped Nothing Breaks Like A Heart with Mark Ronson only a few weeks ago, and we are LOVIN' it.

She's set to perform Happy Xmas (War is Over) with Ono Lennon on SNL, and will more than likely appear in a sketch or two. The buzz surrounding Black Mirror began when Cyrus was spotted filming in South Africa.

She commented about her involvement with the smash hit show (which honestly shakes us to our core) in a coy manner, but we all know it's damn truth and we cannot wait to see her act.

When Stern quizzed the singer on her guest role, she said; “If you guess it, then I will shake my head ‘yes.'” She nodded, confirming that our TV drama dreams have come true.

“The minute I say I never want to do something again, all of a sudden, there I am,” she added.

“I hate everything, but it was the first time I’ve left somewhere feeling really proud of my work…but you know if I like it that might mean it’s horrible.”

Speaking about her character on the show, she described her as having “a lot of dynamic”, and also mentioned the horrific wildfires which raged in California and destroyed her home.

“There’s a lot of dimension to it, and actually it was while the devastation of Malibu was happening, and it was a really weird learning experience for me, because I was so far from home and the show is already really dark, and it’s already kind of eerie when you’re there the whole time," she said.

The Malibu songstress was also questioned on her friendship with fellow pop goddess Ariana Grande, and Miley claims that she texted the Thank U, Next icon following her much-publicised break-up with Pete Davidson a… cat emoji?

“I thought it was slightly even making her feel good, like maybe I was hitting on her a little bit.” I mean, Ari is a queen, so we support this.

We can't wait to see Miley hit our Netflix screens when the anticipated next season of Black Mirror is released, the countdown begins.

Ok, some of this is old news – most of us will know that Leo was given the Best Actor Oscar that Marlon Brando won for his role in 1954’s On the Waterfront.

In 2017, Leo gave it back – but we're only finding out why now.

The story resurfaced in the New York Times about financier Jho Low, who is tangled in a criminal investigation – and the same guy  who originally gave Leo the Oscar a a pressie.

According to the Times, Low along with people like Malaysia’s ex-prime minister Najib Razak, allegedly used billions of dollars from a Malaysian government-run an investment fund.

Hmmm, sounds dodgy.

Leo isn't the only one who has to give back – other celebs like Miranda Kerr had to give up a grand piano, and a Pablo Picasso painting.

The statement in 2017 said, ''This effort was to determine if there were any gifts or charitable donations originating from the parties named in the civil complaint, and to offer the return of any such gifts or donations with the aid and instruction of the government.''

The returned Oscar is now in a federal warehouse in Texas and we're a bit gutted for Leo tbh – he hasn't got much luck with Oscars, has he?

The show excelled itself this year, especially with their chosen theme of The Greatest Showman, which was hugely popular with both viewers, participants and host Ryan Tubridy.

1.3 million people watched the show live, which was an incredible 74 percent share of the TV audience during this time period.  The hashtag #LateLateToyShow even trended worldwide on Twitter.

The show had a total reach on RTÉ One of over 1.8 million viewers who tuned in for a minute or more on Friday night, some viewers on the Player logged on from Myanmar, Haiti, Mongolia and Burundi.

"As a team, we are so honoured that people open their arms and welcome us in for such a magical night, and I sincerely hope it was as much fun for our viewers as it was for me on Friday."

"The production team and the children are what make the Toy Show special and memorable and I want to thank everyone involved, from little star Michael to our heroes Grace and Scott, to the set and costume designers. I’m delighted viewers loved it as much as we did."

Netflix have decided to be absolute legends.

Why, you ask?

Because they are adding a whole slew of new titles and we are not able to handle the excitement.

Probably even more so because DERRY GIRLS is one of those shows.

This Irish series, which is already a huge hit in the UK , is set in 1990's Northern Ireland during teh Troubles.

It follows a group of school girls who attend a Catholic school – it is historical and hilarious and we adore it.

Created and written by Lisa McGee, we get to hang out with 16-year-old's Erin (Saoirse-Monica Jackson), her cousin Orla (Louisa Harland) and their friends Clare (Nicola Coughlan), Michelle (Jamie-Lee O'Donnell) and Michelle's English cousin, James (Dylan Llewellyn), as they navigate their teens.

Season One, which was released in January of this year, was unreal so we can only imagine that Season Two is gonna be even better.

It's another reason why we will be glued to our telly's for all of December but sure look, isn't that what winter is all about?!

This year has seen some extremely high profile splits, but this is one we thought we would never be writing about.

Sadly, something is in the air in 2018 and love is just dying out all over the place.

This time, Ross Mathews and Salvador Camarena called time on their relationship of 10 YEARS.

The RuPaul’s Drag Race judge announced the news via Insta.

"After nearly ten years together, Salvador and I have decided that the time has come to part ways," he penned.

However, throw away the popcorn as the break-up hasn't given us any juicy drama, and Ross explained that they're keeping their split classy.

"This split is amicable and filled with kindness, compassion and a genuine love for one another. As we go forward, each of us feels as if he has a cheerleader in our corner – a family member for life."

"We are happy. Thank you all for your well wishes and love," he finished.

The reason we are so shookth by their decision to end the relationship is that last year there were talks of starting a family.

Ross told the HuffingtonPost that: "I feel like I’ve been married and raising my career. I’m ready pretty soon to think about having some babies.”

The pair first started dating in 2008 and though we are happy for both of them that they're ready for this new chapter, we are low-key devastated.

A survey carried out by Newstalk has released results stating that half of Irish people would not report rape to the Gardaí if they knew it happened to someone else.

Newstalk’s Women in Ireland Survey shows that while eight out of ten people would report a rape if it was committed against them, when it came to somebody else the reports shifted entirely.

Red C conducted the survey for Newstalk in order to examine sexual violence in the country, and it found that women were significantly less likely to report an incident of rape of someone other than themselves.

Only four out of ten women said they would report an incident, and six out of ten men, meaning that women are more likely to remain quiet about sexual violence occurring to a friend, acquaintance, family member, or even a stranger.

The survey also found that twice as many women as men have experienced gender discrimination, and three quarters of people would report sexual harassment at work.

The Women in Ireland survey enquired about if participants would report other sexual assault incidences such as groping, indecent exposure, sexual harassment at work or non-consensual touching.

Apparently, three quarters of people would report indecent exposure or sexual harassment while at work, and two thirds of people would give a statement regarding groping to An Garda Síochána.

Regarding discrimination, twice as many women as men said they have experienced prejudicial treatment with younger people.

Interestingly, people who are living in Dublin are evidently more likely to have experienced gender discrimination in their lives.

Overall, the report shows troubling responses from our country, which has had two major rape trial controversies in the last year alone which have shed light on the worrying ways in which our justice system treats sexual assault victims.

Feverous Black Friday shoppers are HELLA p*ssed off as they are being forced to wait HOURS in online store queues.

Customers are being forced into virtual lines on store websites, yet retailers are claiming this was all properly planned… eh, what?

One man shared a screenshot on Twitter of his queue number: 107578th in line. Good God, people, this is utter madness.

It's fair to say that the eager online population are sufficiently angry, with complaints coming in left, right and centre for numerous brands, such as Debenhams.

A Debenhams spokesperson claimed that the system was "managed" and that customers have all been successful with their shopping experiences:

"Some customers experienced a short delay in accessing our website at peak hours last night."

"By implementing a managed 'queue system' we were able to ensure that once customers had accessed our site, they were all able shop the offers successfully."

Reports of thousands of websites crashing are also gaining traction on Twitter, it seems that online stores were hugely unprepared for the onslaught of consumerism which Black Friday brings:

Sky News were told by Game:

"Due to the volume of traffic to our site we are operating a queuing system to make it as fair as possible to our customers in getting the deals they want."

However, stores this morning on the high street were experiencing regular volumes of customers, with no queues in sight. It seems online shopping has officially taken over:

Remember gals, Black Friday is a massive marketing campaign, so try to resist the mania surrounding it.

Use deals websites to spot the best discounts, ask yourself if you really need the items and don't assume that just because it's on sale, it's a bargain.

Economically and environmentally conscious shopping needs to be a priority with the massive amounts of clothes going to waste.

Stay strong gals, resist the urge.

If you can't resist, we hope you get through the online queue hysteria at least.

We don't wanna celebrate too soon.

But c'mon – a FOUR day working week?

A leading trade union, Forsa, has called for a national debate to bring in this glorious four day week.

The union believes that technology advances have made it possible for workers to have more time off.

A conference is being hosted  in Dublin today, called 'The Future of Working Time.'

The even better news is that as a result of the technological advances, Forsa says productivity in companies that have a shorter week has actually risen.

It's like music to our ears.

However, some critics have slammed the idea as ''ambitious.''

Forsa spokesperson Joe O'Connor says, "It would have been said 100 years ago that the weekend was an unachievable ambition."

He continued, "This fetishization of working long hours, always being on, that culture has crept into Irish society in recent years."

Can we actually get more work done in four days then five?

Will it help our mental heath?

Most of us know that there are dead hours in a working day – like the one after lunch, the first half hour in the morning, the last half hour of the day, pretty much the last two hours on a Friday, tbf.

But if we condensed the work we need to get done every week in four days, we would be a lot less likely to waste any hours and keep our noses to the grindstone to get everything done.

Now, will it be Monday to Thursday or Tuesday to Friday?

Congratulations to Jessica Chastain an her husband Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo.

According to reports, the couple have became first-time parents to a baby girl.

The 41-year-old actor has named her little one, who was born via a surrogate, Giulietta Passi Chastain, who was born via surrogate.

The tot is also four months old.

Jessica has been at the centre of swirling pregnancy rumours for a while now, with the first reports of her new bundle of joy beginning in October, when she was spotted on the set of her movie, Eve, pushing a pram.

Jessica married her 35-year-old fashion executive husband last June at his family's estate, Villa Tiepolo Passi, in Treviso, Italy.

They had been dating for five years before that.

Jessica is notoriously  private about their relationship, and does not open up about her personal life to the media, so many people were in the dark about the baby.

We think that it's fabulous news and wish them both all the luck as the start this new journey together as a trio.

They were the rock 'n' roll kings that hailed from Count Cavan, so the news today that The Strypes have spilt is pretty heart-wrenching.

The foursome, formed in 2010, was made up of lead vocalist Ross Lynch, lead guitar Josh McCluskey, bassist Pete O'Hanlin and drummer Evan Walshe.

Their rhythm and blues, 1960's-inspired music certainly made a huge impact on the music scene and the announcement has left their legions of fans worldwide in shock.

The band took to Instagram to post about their separation.

They clearly had a blast over the last eight years, writing, ''we have played in toilets and theatres, in cafes and castles, from Scothouse to Tokyo and back again.''

However they also touched on how hard some of it has been, and that there has been highs as well as lows.

They continued, ''It's been fun and exciting, dull and dangerous, easy, tough, frustrating, satisfying and amazing. It's been a life and a living.''

The outpouring of sadness on social media is a testament to how much they were loved.

One wrote, ''Been there since the beginning! Always loved your music and it has been amazing to hear you grow. I wish I would've been able to catch you live, but I sadly didn't! Best of luck.''

Another said, ''Thank you for all your amazing performances. I have managed to see you and sing along many times. You guys are amazing and so talented. Good luck!''

While another wrote, ''It was an honour to see you guys live when I had the chance. Best of luck to you all in the future.''

In the copy-and-paste landscape of today's music world, The Strypes stood out with their raw talent and energy.

Best of luck with the next chapter – now excuse us while we listen to them on repeat all day…
