Let's be honest, Instagram has less to do with documenting your actual life, and more to do with projecting an image of the life you want, right?

And following Instagram personalities because you desperately want to live the life they purport to is standard procedure for many of us, but how many times have we been duped?

Well, if you were a fan of Louise Delage's Insta account, you've been duped at least once.

Thinking

Louise's Instagram which shows a young woman living the high life attracted more than 50,000 followers, and while many coveted her lifestyle, the vast majority were unaware they were actually part of an experiment to raise awareness of alcoholism among young people.

French ad agency BETC explained that the campaign is on behalf of charity Addict Aide and served to highlight how easy it is to miss signs of addiction even with a close friend or family member.

Each and every one of Louise's uploads – from beach trips and country walks to days spent shopping and chilling out – all featured an alcoholic drink, and it was BETC's intention to highlight how easy it is to normalise excessive drinking.

"Sometimes it seems like in this era, the more people stage their ideal life on social media, the more that serves to hide a not-so-ideal reality," Stéphane Xiberras Paris told AdWeek.

Remember when Jodie Marsh decided to rock three strategically-placed belts during a red carpet event in the early noughties?

Well, it looks like the former glamour model has decided to pay tribute to that particular look by giving it an overhaul which better reflects her current passion – weightlifting.

In a move which turned Instagram creepy AF this weekend, the 37-year-old shared two shots of herself rocking nothing but a hat and a pair of boots while getting her burn on.

"Damn them bars!" wrote one fan of the star while another added: "Wish i was a fly on wall in that gym at that time….id av been one happy fly…" (sic)

"Ha ha just had to screenshot this so I could zoom in!" admitted one of of Jodie's fans.

"Why can't you show us your boobs completely? Or personally send em to my account." asked another Instagram user beneath a picture of Jodie chilling out on the floor of her private gym.

"Everyone zooming in like…" wrote another while a fellow follower added: "Don't hide your body."

The photos have been liked almost 15,000 times since their upload yesterday.

It's been over a year since they called time on their relationship, but it sounds like Perrie Edwards isn't quite ready to forgive and forget if the lyrics to Little Mix's latest track is anything to go by.

In a move which has fans questioning Zayn Malik's skills between the sheets, Perrie appeared to pour scorn on the former One Direction member and his prowess in the boudoir.

"I hope she gettin' better sex, Hope she ain't fakin' it like I did, babe." Perrie sings in Shout Out To My Ex.

And if Little Mix fans needed further evidence that Perrie was having a dig at the Bradford-native who is now in a relationship with Gigi Hadid, one particular lyric looked to mirror their time together.

Appearing to reference the tattoo Zayn had done of his ex girlfriend, Perrie, who was engaged to Zayn for two years, added: "Guess I should say thank you, For the 'hate yous' and the tattoos."

Oh, and in one final sick burn, the 23-year-old sings: "Oh baby I'm cool by the way, Ain't sure I loved you anyway."

The ladies' new single will be released next Sunday.

After a wedding ceremony and two kids, you'd be forgiven for thinking Kim Kardashian and Kanye West were in it for the long haul but if recent reports are anything to go by, the marriage may be little more than a 'business arrangement'.

In a decision which isn't going to win him any fans among the Kardashian/West camp, Kim's former bodyguard implied that the relationships she shared with Kanye was a strategic career move.

Speaking exclusively to Now magazine, Mark Behar opened up about his experience working alongside them and revealed that the couple are only staying together for the sake of their children.

"They’re only together now because they’ve had the kids, but I don’t believe their relationship is all about love any more," he told the magazine.

In addition to revealing that they fought over Kanye's interest in other women at last year's VMAs, Mark questioned the Kardashian womens' attitude towards the men in their lives.

"They take them in, tell them to put their lives in their hands, but once they have no more use for them just throw them out. They eat men alive," he insisted.

Suggesting that the Kardashian empire is built on little more than phony storylines and a lust for cash, he added: "Not one bit of their lives is real. It’s just all for filming, to make money and get sponsorship deals."

Your move, Kim.

When Niall Horan decided not to sign with Simon Cowell's record label after going solo, we imagine he knew he'd be in for a few sly digs along the way.

And, unsurprisingly, Mr. Cowell did not disappoint in this department.

After hearing that our favourite Mullingar man had only reached number 9 in the UK charts with his first solo offering, This Town, the music mogul decided to twist the knife a little bit.

"He probably would have had a Number One single if he'd stayed with me." Simon remarked.

And just in case that wasn't enough to enrage Niall and his die-hard fans, Simon went one step further by reminding the public who did, in fact, nab the top spot this week.

"But you know who does have a Number One this week? James Arthur. Very pleased he's back with us with a fantastic record. Hashtag loyalty," Simon jeered.

Jeez Simon, how dya really feel?

When you cast your mind back over your school days it’s likely the most frightening thing that happened was your hairstyle.

Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for students of Newpark School in Blackrock who were confronted by three chainsaw-wielding clowns last week.

The clowns, who arrived at the Dublin school in order to promote a Halloween Horror attraction, had not been given permission to approach students, and ultimately left staff and pupils horrified by their arrival.

Speaking to The Independent, one mother revealed that her child was unable to sleep following the incident.

“First of all, how could they think about doing something like this to promote a show and how people dressed up as clowns with what looks like a chainsaw and a sledgehammer could get into a school,” she said.

The school’s principal, Derek Lowry, has acknowledged the severity of the incident in a letter to parents, explaining that the group entered the school campus without any authorisation" and that one of them "was carrying a prop that looked identical to a chainsaw".

With footage of the clowns’ visit is being circulated among students, Mr. Lowry has urged anyone affected by the incident to speak with staff.

Gardaí will not be investigating the incident as it is considered a civil matter.

They may not be quite as popular as they were back in 2002, but it looks like Nickleback are up there with James Blunt when it comes to hitting back at online haters.

The Canadian rockers, who performed in Dublin over the weekend, decided they weren't going to take a particularly nasty dig from English duo, Royal Blood, lying down.

And in fairness to them, it was a pretty slick comeback.

After the Brighton-based duo decided to compare the two American presidential candidates to the How You Remind Me crooners last Friday, the lads hit back and pretty much slayed.

Calling the lads out on their snarkiness, Chad and the crew replied: "NIckelback jokes are like @royalblooduk, they were a lot cooler a couple years ago. Don't drink and tweet fellas. Stay safe. XO"

And it looks like Twitter users were on Nickelback's side when it came to this, with one writing: "THANKS GUYS BECAUSE INSULTING NICKELBACK IS HOW YOU RELEASE AN ALBUM."

"Maybe fist start selling an album or two before attacking another band. #Nickelback rocks btw…y'all dus suck #bye."

She may be known for her roles in House, The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants and Two and a Half Men but if the response to her latest Instagram post is anything to go by, Amber Tamblyn will now be known for her courage and bravery as well as her career moves.

In the wake of a leaked recording which highlighted Donald Trump's predatorial attitude towards women, Amber decided to share her own story of assault in a post which has racked up a staggering 28,000. likes in just 17 hours.

Explaining that she had the support of her husband, Amber opened up about an experience which she feels mirrors Mr. Trumps remarks in the aforementioned tapes.

Amber told her followers that while on a night out with her friends, she feared her abusive ex-boyfriend may attempt to find her – a fear which was soon realised when he turned up at the same venue as Amber.

I need to tell you a story. With the love and support of my husband, I've decided to share it publicly. A very long time ago I ended a long emotionally and physically abusive relationship with a man I had been with for some time. One night I was at a show with a couple girlfriends in Hollywood, listening to a DJ we all loved. I knew there was a chance my ex could show up, but I felt protected with my girls around me. Without going into all the of the details, I will tell you that my ex did show up, and came up to me in the crowd. He's a big guy, taller than me. The minute he saw me, he picked me up with one hand by my hair and with his other hand, he grabbed me under my skirt by my vagina— my pussy?— and lifted me up off the floor, literally, and carried me, like something he owned, like a piece of trash, out of the club. His fingers were practically inside of me, his other hand wrapped tightly around my hair. I screamed and kicked and cried. He carried me this way, suspended by his hands, all the way across the room, pushing past people until he got to the front door. My friends ran after him, trying to stop him. We got to the front door and I thank God his brothers were also there and intervened. In the scuffle he grabbed at my clothes, trying to hold onto me, screaming at me, and inadvertently ripped off my grandmother’s necklace, which I was wearing. The rest of this night is a blur I do not remember. How I got out to the car. How I got away from him that night. I never returned for my necklace either. That part of my body, which the current Presidential Nominee of the United States Donald Trump recently described as something he’d like to grab a woman by, was bruised from my ex-boyfriend's violence for at least the next week. I had a hard time wearing jeans. I couldn’t sleep without a pillow between my legs to create space. To this day I remember that moment. I remember the shame. I am afraid my mom will read this post. I'm even more afraid that my father could ever know this story. That it would break his heart. I couldn't take that. But you understand, don't you? I needed to tell a story. Enjoy the debates tonight.

Drawing a comparison between Trump's remarks and her boyfriend's actions, Amber continued: "The minute he saw me, he picked me up with one hand by my hair and with his other hand, he grabbed me under my skirt by my vagina— my p***y?— and lifted me up off the floor, literally, and carried me, like something he owned, like a piece of trash, out of the club."

After elaborating on the events which ultimately unfolded, Amber recalled the aftermath of the assault.

Admitting that she found it incredibly difficult to share her experience, Amber finished the lengthy post by asking her followers to understand her motivation for doing so.

"But you understand, don't you? I needed to tell a story. Enjoy the debates tonight." she finished.

Amber has been inundated with supportive comments and feedback since posting her story last night.

There's nothing like heading home for a celebration to bring out the divilment in most of us.

While we're all busy pretending to be grown ups in the big smoke by picking up a matcha green tea latte after a Saturday morning Pilates class, we need only get a whiff of our old local to revert to our old ways.

And it looks like Michael Fassbender is no different.

While at home in Killarney to receive his induction into the Order of Inisfallen, the Hollywood star celebrated the honour by dropping the formalities of the red carpet and channelling his inner Elvis.

Giving it absolute socks to Suspicious Minds in the Europe Hotel, this lad wasn't sitting back down until he was good and ready.

Kim Kardashian may be beating herself up over her decision to flaunt her jewellery online, but it looks like she's found an unlikely ally in Geordie Shore's Scotty T.

While members of the public have been quick to slam the mum-of-two for sharing her extravagant lifestyle on social media, Scotty T has been busy formulating his own opinion on the Paris ordeal.

Hitting back at Kim's haters, Scotty – in his own special way – said: "No one deserves to get ripped off. At the end of the day if you’ve got nice things you want to show them off. I’ve got a wicked d**k and I show that off, you know what I mean."

Reporting on the fall-out from Monday morning's robbery during his MTV segment, the Geordie lad said: "People have been making jokes at Kim’s expense, the fact that she’s had a gun put to her head and robbed, but it doesn’t make any sense."

"Why would people joke about that? Put yourself in her shoes, would you like to be tied up in bath with a gun to your f*cking head and get robbed?" he asked.

"It doesn’t matter how much money she’s got or what," he argued. "At the end of the day she’s a mother, she’s got a family and no one on earth would want to be in that position."

Well said, Scotty.

For a great many people, Donald Trump's true colours were shown long before this weekend, but if current commentary is anything to go by, it's a recently leaked tape which is likely to put the brakes on Trump's attempt to make it all the way to the White House.

Featuring conversation which took place between himself and TV presenter, Billy Bush, more than ten years ago, the tape confirms the argument that the business tycoon is little more than a sexist, misogynistic egomaniac.

From revealing he attempted "to f*ck" a well-known married woman to suggesting his 'star' status allows him to "grab women by the p***y", the leaked tape has intensified debate over Trump's suitability to hold office in the United States.

While Clinton supporters have used the tape to reinforce the argument that Hillary is the better candidate, Trump supporters haven't been shy in defending the billionaire against criticism.

And, unsurprisingly, Twitter is blowing up right now as members of the public argue the toss over the significance of the leaked recording.
