If you – like us – were a die-hard Sex and the City fan back in the day, you'll be all too familiar with Carrie's notion that the world revolved around her.

While she may have claimed her friends were her life – or 'her insides' as she once told Aleksandr Petrovsky – it was pretty clear who the New York Star writer put first.

And now it looks like Sarah Jessica Parker has offered an explanation for her character's fairly healthy sense of self.

During an interview on Nerdist podcast, the actress suggested that the three main gals in Carrie's life were nothing more than a figment of her imagination.

"I used to wonder if Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda were real. That it’s all for the column."

"They’re such perfectly archetypal characters,” she continued.

“So you’re writing a column about sexual politics and observations of female/male primarily, heterosexual relationships, so you’re picking one type."

Suggesting that Carrie used these imaginary ladies to give her column added authenticity, SJP added: "She is among them because that’s her way of infiltrating story and affecting story too, to have her own actions affect those friendships and document their response."

We've never so much rubbish in all our…oh my God, wait…'her insides'.

In case you missed it, tickets for Coldplay's Croke Park gig went on sale yesterday morning, and despite queuing, refreshing, sweating and praying, countless fans emerged from their mission empty-handed.

And if Twitter is anything to go by, disgruntled fans know exactly who they want to blame.

Venting fury at Ticketmaster, members of the public have accused the outlet of providing their sister company with tickets which were ultimately sold at a higher price – an accusation which the company have denied.

Between the gig selling out in under forty minutes and tickets going for re-sale soon after, Twitter is not happy.

It's been five days since Kim Kardashian was held at gunpoint in her Parisian accommodation during Paris Fashion Week, and for a family who make millions from sharing the ups and downs of their lives with the public, the Kardashian/ Jenner clan have been remarkably tight-lipped in the wake of the ordeal.

Aside from a small smattering of social media posts – some vague, some not so much – there's been radio silence from Kim and the vast majority of her world-famous family this week.

But it's not just social media which the Calabasas clan have decided to retreat from, with reports emerging that a number of Kim's sisters have cancelled promotional trips and public events in response to Kim's upset.

According to ET, Khloe, Kendall and Kylie have made the decision to cancel their respective book signings over the coming weeks.

It is understood that Khloe was due to promote the paperback edition of her New York Times bestseller, Strong Looks Better Naked while the Jenner sisters had scheduled appearances for their second novel, Time of the Twins: The Story of Lex and Livia which is due for release mid November.

With rumours circulating that Kim blames herself for the $11 million robbery, it is perhaps no surprise that the mum-of-two has decided not to post from her numerous social media platforms this week  – a decision which will apparently cost her in excess of $1 million a month.

According to celebrity financial adviser Samuel Rad, Kim makes approximately $20,000 per social media post, but insists that if and when she does return to social media, she's likely to make up the loss.

"I think what’s going to happen is the first post she’s going to put up… it’s going to get so many more followers and hits,' he told PEOPLE. "I think it could be a really big moneymaker for her brand."

As it stands, career moves and financial gain is the last thing on Kim's mind with news emerging this week that the family have decided to postpone filming on Keeping Up with the Kardashians –  a decision which has been supported by the network.

"Kim's well-being is our core focus right now," a spokesperson for E! said. "No decision has been made as to when production will resume."

"She needs a break from everything. Working and posting anything on social media is the last thing on her mind right now." a close source revealed.

Unless you've been living under a rock for the last few months, you'll know all about the drama which played out between Taylor Swift, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West.

After insisting she was disgusted over the lyrical content of Kanye's track Famous, Taylor Swift attempted to distance herself from the rapper.

But, as we all know, Kim was having none of it, and eventually leaked footage which showed Taylor approving the derogatory lyrics.

And while the released version referred to Taylor as a 'bitch' and suggested Kanye and Tay might 'still have sex', the original version of the track is actually a lot harsher.

According to an MTV report, the track, which was originally called Nina Chop. again refers to Taylor, but, instead of saying they may have sex, Kanye states that "she owes him sex."

That's right; OWES him sex…

And it wasn't only Taylor who featured in Nina Chop with Kanye's ex girlfriend Amber Rose also getting a shout-out.

The lucky, lucky girls… not.

Celebrities and paparazzi go hand-in-hand (well, not literally but you get it) and while some stars court the press, others do their utmost to avoid attention outside of promotional events.

And it looks like Olivia Wilde, who is currently expecting her second child, was going for the latter when she recently decided to take some down-time on a park bench.

Unfortunately for the Vinyl star, however, one eager pap had other ideas and decided to snap her while hiding in a park bush. No, seriously.

Sourcing the snap, Olivia decided to share it on her Instagram account and offer an explanation for her stern appearance.
 

"Death stare sent this weirdo photog with a giant nat geo lens (ya know, the kind you use to snap wild animals who would kill you if you got too close) scurrying backwards into the park bush he was literally, and I do mean literally, stalking me from," she wrote.

"When you see pics of people looking angry it's because they're reacting normally to an extremely abnormal situation," she continued.

"I'm posting this so people understand that this face is how it feels to be followed by strange men (sorry but it's almost never a woman) who climb trees to snap pics of pregnant ladies. Not cool," she finished in a post which has been liked almost 50,000 times in an hour.

The actress, who is married to Jason Sudeikis, has been inundated with support from followers since sharing an insight into the life of a high-profile actress.

"Be careful and remain outspoken about your privacy," wrote one while another added: "Just awful being stalked like that! Should have flipped him off! Great post for sure."

"This is def the sh*tty side of fame. Thanks for keeping it real & sharing!" remarked a fan.

We love her even more now.

Long before rapper, Professor Green, tied the knot with Made in Chelsea star, Millie Mackintosh, the loved-up couple were more than happy to share insights into their relationship.

And the desire to share their union with social media uses only intensified after they officially became man and wife.

But it looks like Professor Green,32, is having serious regrets about his decision to open his marriage to fans and followers.

Having split from Millie in February of this after less than three years of marriage, the Just Be Good to Green singer has taken time to reflect on their approach, and has decided he won't make the same mistakes in the future.

"I don’t sell my relationships. That’s not me’, he insisted. ‘I’m not parading my relationships and I will never do that again."

"I will never ever, ever put myself in that position again where a relationship becomes… That’s not happening."

Millie, whose divorce to Professor Green was finalised in May, came under fire this year for appearing to flaunt her relationship with Hugo Taylor.

With every X Factor comes one token act which has the viewing public up in arms until they eventually get unceremoniously booted off the show.

It normally takes a viewer approximately three episodes to decide whether they're in it for the long haul or one step away from giving up and switching over.

And when it comes to Gogglebox Ireland, it looks like the country officially made its mind up last night.

In a show which featured Terry Wogan, Kerry Katona and Stephen Rochford, the viewing public decided Gogglebox Ireland was an official winner.

Over the course of the TV3 show and long after, Twitter was awash with comments, quotes and gifs which perfectly summed up both the episode and the nation's reaction to it.

If you were forced to get a bus, train or taxi to work due to this morning's Luas disruption, it looks like you'll be making the same arrangements this evening.

According to their website, the technical fault which suspended services earlier today has yet to be rectified.

Advising the public on the situation, the company explained that services between Stephen's Green and Bride's Glen "are expected to be down for the remainder of the day."

Customers are entitled to use their tickets on Dublin Bus services and have been advised that Finnegans coaches will be operating between Dundrum and Brides Glen Luas stops.

The red line service is operating normally.

And just when we thought we'd gotten over the whole thing (four for us, Glen Coco), Mean Girls stars, Lindsay Lohan and Jonathan Bennett, sent us into free fall by revealing that they still keep in contact with each other.

Yesterday, we brought you the news that when it comes to stressing out their mates, dogs are clearly up there with friends who insist you need another shot… on a school night.

And while Jack and Archie were once Twitter's favourite pooches, they've had to make way for a dog who got his head stuck in a doughnut… and couldn't be happier about it.

Taking to social media to share an insight into her pet's thought process, Twitter user, Brielle, wrote: "I put this donut pillow on my dog 20 minutes ago and he loves it and won't let me take it off."

Brielle shared a variety of snaps and with 71,000 likes and counting, something tells us that when it comes to dogs and doughnuts, Twitter is fully on board.

Whether languishing on the kitchen floor on posing on the bedroom throw, this dog knows you're never fully dressed with a doughnut.

Commenting on the collage of adorable snaps, one Twitter user wrote: "That went from odd > silly > f*cking hilarious > utterly amazing in three pics."

"My mom's reply to this "Aww! Now everyone's gonna want one. Goes with everything!'" added another.

And then we had the guy who rolled out the slickest dad joke of all time, quipping: "Hmmm…. Dog with a doughnut around his neck… I guess deep down he wants to be a police dog!"
