There was a time when having a phobia of clowns meant you simply avoided the circus at all costs, but with more and more clowns making their presence known by loitering in dark allies and lingering in dimly-lit neighbourhoods, it is, for many coulrophobes, becoming harder to overcome our fear.

It looks, however, like society's phobia of the ever-smiling circus staple is having a detrimental effect on clown morale right now, and they've decided it's time to exercise their rights.

In an effort to remind the public that clowns have feelings too, a march has, according to Uproxx, been organised in Tucson, Arizona which aims to integrate clowns with the larger community.

Commenting on the purpose of the march, organiser Nikki Sinn said: "This is a peaceful walk to show clowns are not psycho killers."

"We want the public to feel safe and not be afraid. So come out, bring the family, meet a clown and get a hug," she urged.

Unsurprisingly, those involved in the march have experienced pushback from chairman of the Arizona Black Lives Matter campaign, Reginald Walton.

"The notion of a Clown Lives Matter rally is insensitive, as the issue of police brutality and violence is a serious issue and the clown issue is not as important," he argued,

"The Clown Lives Matter rally takes away the focus of a serious issue in this country that we are working with law enforcement and the community to resolve."

We're with him on that one.

If you're one of the thousands who have spent all week salivating over the thought of getting your hands on a Coldplay ticket, then it's likely you're pretty disappointed right now.

While countless fans prepped and primed themselves for this morning's ticket release, it looks like it just wasn't meant to be for so many Irish fans today.

According to emerging reports this morning, the Croke Park gig sold out in apparently just one minute… although we're thinking approximately 30 is more likely.

And Twitter is not happy at all.

Considering the pure angst on Twitter this morning, you'd swear no one was going, but you'd be wrong…

Aw, way to rub it in our faces, lads!

If you're relying on the green line Luas today, it's time to make alternative plans.

According to the Luas website, the entire green line from Stephen's Green to Brides Glen has been suspended due to a technical fault.

Customers have been advised that tickets will be accepted on Dublin Bus services.

Commuters have been assured that the red line is operating as normal.

Ladies, get thee to the bus stop.

He may have and happily maintain (for obvious reasons) the hard man reputation, but it looks like Conor McGregor is an absolute softie at heart if his latest Instagram post is anything to go by.

Taking to social media late last night, the UFC star shared his sweeter side by posting a selfie of himself with a young fan.

After realising that the little girl didn't have a camera to hand upon meeting him, the Crumlin-native decided to snap the picture on his own phone before proudly sharing it with the world online.

To the little lady who left her phone at home.

Alongside the snap which has clocked up a staggering 548,000 likes in just 15 hours, 28-year-old Conor paid tribute to his little fan, writing: "To the little lady who left her phone at home…"

Instagram, unsurprisingly, fell all over themselves after seeing the photo, with one follower writing: "What a gem."

"Brilliant fighter and brilliant guy, 2 title champ!" wrote another while a fellow follower added: "So cute. Not many would take the time to do this."

Would you LOOK at the cuteness of that?!

In a move which not many celebrities would welcome, a television presenter pressed Ellie Goulding so much, she was forced to admit she was mortified by the line of questioning.

While appearing on Australian television show The Project, the British star was asked her opinion of the latest Bridget Jones movie – a flick which features Ellie's track Still Falling For You.

After admitting that she could relate to Bridget on account of 'drinking like a fish', Carrie Bickmore asked Ellie if she was also like good oul Bridge because she might be pregnant.

Looking somewhat awkward, Ellie dismissed the notion before Carrie pressed even further and suggested that the Love Me Like You Do singer might be pregnant with… wait for it… Prince Harry's baby.

Check out the hideously awkward moment here, won't you?

More than a decade since the release of their last album, A Bigger Bang, one of the industry's biggest bands have announced that they're releasing a new album.

That's right, ladies – The Rolling Stones have today confirmed that Blue and Lonesome will hit shelves in December of this year.

The band are understandably pumped about the album of blues covers which was recorded over just three days earlier this year.

Speaking at the time of recording, Keith Richards said: "They sound so authentic it's frightening. We didn't spend any time rehearsing them or anything."

"We just picked a song that suited Mick's harmonica or a guitar riff… and they worked out pretty good. It was like, 'this is what the Stones do, we play blues."

And if you can't wait until December to get the ball rolling, make sure you have your head in the game tomorrow for the pre-order kick-off.

Oh, and for those of you who do decide to pre-order, there'll be a brand new song in it for you… and immediately too.

Get in!

Public transport is, in anyone’s language, a complete and utter nightmare.

Yes, it's cheap (well, relatively speaking), fairly dependable (when they're not striking, that is) and pretty safe, but then there's all the, you know, other stuff.

For every punctual bus, train or tram, there’s a fellow commuter who won’t break eye contact with you, a random passenger who thinks the Luas is the right time to crack out a burrito or a person with limited control of their bodily functions.

And if you think you're alone in these daily transport struggles, you need look no further than Twitter to realise that public transport is, for each and every one of us, as harrowing as it gets.

 1. When this happens

2. When people aren't locked up

3. When people like you a bit too much

4.  When you're actually the biggest issue

5. When you'd be quicker crawling

6. When a fellow commuter isn't even human

7. When THOSE people get on

8. When you get ahead of yourself

9. When your life is in your hands… and you love it

When it comes to Halloween, some people like to observe and others like to get stuck in.

So, if you're not one for interactive haunted houses or full-on terror walks, but still adore Halloween, why not check out the Monster Season laid on by Dublin's Lighthouse cinema this month?

Kicking off on October 28th and running until the 31st, the Smithfield cinema, as part of the Bram Stoker festival, will be showing a range of the industry's most iconic monster movies,  and we are all over it.

From The Mummy to Frankenstein, these 1930s movies put modern-day horrors to shame.

Oh, and if you feel like wheeling out your traditional garb and dressing up while getting your shriek on, go for it.

See you there, ladies.

If you found yourself listlessly waiting on a green line Luas for longer than usual this morning, it's due to the fact Gardaí were forced to remove a disruptive passenger from a tram at the Beechwood stop shorty after 7am.

According to The Irish Times, Luas staff requested the assistance of the Gardaí after a member of the public refused to stop filming members of staff.

Under Luas bylaws, the "use any camera or video recorder or any form of equipment for recording sound or images so as to interfere with any other person" is not permitted while travelling on the city's tram system.

It has been established that the same individual had also been caught filming Luas staff members yesterday.

According to a spokeswoman for Luas operator, Transdev, the passenger also attempted to knock the leap card reader from the ticket inspector's hand before being removed by Gardaí at the Beechwood stop in Ranelagh.

The incident caused a 15 to 20,minute delay on the green line this morning.

If you are or ever have been a pet owner, there's a good chance you have, at some stage in your life, played dead just to see how your pet would react to the scene.

And if you haven't, you're really missing out.

But if you think this bizarre activity is reserved for us humans, think again.

Taking to Twitter to give the public an insight into the relationship between her dogs, Jack and Archie, Sam Mhull shared footage of a recent exchange between the pair.

Rolling onto his back and allowing his head to loll backwards, Jack pretended he had met this maker… purely to freak out his little buddy.

"Jack has discovered that by playing dead he can scare the sh*t out of Archie," Sam told her followers, and Twitter cannot get enough.

"WE ARE NOT WORTHY OF DOGS," wrote one social media user while another added: "OMFG! that is so adorably heartbreaking. He's so upset over his buddy and the other dog is internally cracking up."

Jack, your work here is done.

Remember when you and your loved ones almost came to blows over THAT dress?

Blue, black, white, gold – at this stage no one really cares, and that's not because we've above fighting over the colour of certain items, but because we've found a new one to focus on.

It all started when Twitter user, corso, took to social media earlier this week to pay tribute to her stunning new Kate Spade bag.

After writing "Everyone say hello to my new baby", one of corso's followers commented on the colour… only to realise he wasn't seeing the same colour as the bag's new owner.

And Twitter is now in meltdown.

1. We had this guy fearing the worst

2. This gal laying it on the line

3. This guy getting super technical

4. This guy getting flashbacks

5. And then we had this girl… telling it like it is.

Blue or white, personally we just want the bag.

Earlier this year, Kylie Minogue and her partner, Joshua Sasse, announced that they planned to tie the knot, but it looks like the brakes have now been put on that decision.

According to emerging reports, the couple have decided to postpone the milestone moment until Kylie's native Australia legalises same-sex marriage – a matter which will be going to public vote in February of next year.

Joshua, who had planned to wed Kylie in Melbourne, insists the notion of allowing one couple to marry over another is completely alien to him, saying: “When I found out that gay marriage was illegal in Australia, I was astounded."

"I simply can’t fathom on any level, whether it’s moral or religious or anything, that I have the right to get married and to marry the person that I love and that somebody else doesn’t because of their sexual orientation."

Like Joshua, Kylie has no intention of making her way down the aisle until every one of her fellow citizens is afforded the same right. having previously said the world 'hasn't caved in' since particular countries have legalised same-sex marriage.

In a bid to promote marriage equality in Australia, the couple, who announced their partnership in 2015, have launched the Say I Do Down Under campaign.
