Ladies, you may want to sit down for this one.

According to the trainer responsible for Karlie Kloss's banging body, there's a reason we're not all rocking the same enviable abs and toned arms as the former Victoria's Secret Angel.

And no, it's not because we can't afford a personal trainer or have no willpower when it comes to Cookie Dough, it's because – wait for it – we're denying our bodies the sleep it needs.

We know! A legitimate reason for a lie-in has been passed down by the gods of good figures.

Speaking to The Cut, Anna Kaiser insists that it's important to catch enough shut-eye if you want to get in tip-top shape.

"I don't think anyone understands how important it is to get enough sleep." she said.

"f you have a choice where you've been only sleeping five or six hours and can sleep an extra hour or work out, sleep an extra hour."

Yep, we're struggling to breathe here too.

"You're running your body down, which will affect your energy and hold onto excess water and weight." Anna explained. "It will make you hungrier."

So, in other words, if you're making your early-morning work-out sessions but denying yourself sleep, then you're going to eventually burn out and pile on the lbs.

"Five to six hours for a week really prohibits your cognitive and hormones functions. You really need seven to eight hours," she explained.

"Working out harder or better or eating less isn't the answer. It's about getting enough sleep," she added.

Ladies, get thee to your warm, snuggly haven.

With a town in Co Cavan still coming to terms with the sudden loss of five of its residents, social media users have taken to Twitter in their droves to draw attention to insensitive reporting on yesterday's tragic case.

The bodies of Alan and Clodagh Hawe, along with their three sons, were discovered at their home yesterday after a relative was unable to gain entry to the house in Oakdene, Barconey.

Commenting on the nature of the tragic discovery, Gardaí revealed that investigators were of the opinion that an individual within the home was responsible for the deaths.

"We believe all the answers are within that house – so therefore the most likely scenario is that one person in that house may have caused the death of the others,” Garda assistant commissioner John O’Driscoll said at a press conference.

After authorities confirmed they weren't looking for anyone else in relation to the deaths of the family of five, members of the public and various media outlets did much to reverse the strides our society has made in relation to mental health.

Reminding the wider public that tragic cases like this must be handled with extreme sensitivity, Twitter users took to the platform to air their views.

When Lily Allen reportedly collapsed at the Notting Hill Carnival last weekend, media outlets had a field day speculating about the drinking habits of the mother-of-two.

And it looks like the Hard Out Here singer is determined to set the record straight.

Taking to Twitter yesterday, Lily shared an email which focussed on her wellbeing and conduct during the annual event in London.

"As discussed I've just been asked to run past you a story The Sun is planning on running tomorrow," it began.

"Based around fears for Lily's health as she's pictured drinking/ smoking suspicious cigarettes/ vomiting before passing out on a stage at the Notting Hill Carnival yesterday,, and having to be carried off seemingly unconscious over Dan/ boyfriend's shoulders."

Responding to the speculation, Lily tweeted: "Truth is I'm just a lightweight, I had 2 cans of Strongbow on an empty stomach."

Assuring her fans that the incident involved nothing more sinister than that, she added: "I'm here now and I'm absolutely fine."

The response Lily's explanation has received has been mixed, with some followers offering support and others using the opportunity to slam the star.

"There really are so many worse things in the world than a drunk celeb! You're human. We've all been there," wrote one while another remarked: "Great example for youngsters…a classy mum…"

Can't see Lily taking that one lying down.

A 20-year-old college student who was found guilty of raping a young woman in a high-profile case is set for release this Friday after serving just half his prison sentence.

According to public records, Brock Turner, who was found guilty of assault with intent to commit rape of an intoxicated woman, sexually penetrating an intoxicated person with a foreign object, and sexually penetrating an unconscious person with a foreign object, will be free by the weekend.

Turner, who will spend his life on the sex offenders' register, has served just a quarter of a year at Santa Clara County jail for the crimes he committed against a young woman on Palo Alto university’s campus in January 2015 despite facing an initial 14 years at sentencing.

In a widely circulated letter written by Turner's victim, she called for stronger sentences in an effort to deter against crimes of this nature.

"The seriousness of rape has to be communicated clearly, we should not create a culture that suggests we learn that rape is wrong through trial and error," she wrote.

"The consequences of sexual assault needs to be severe enough that people feel enough fear to exercise good judgment even if they are drunk, severe enough to be preventative."

Despite the fact prosecutors sought a six-year sentence, Superior Court Judge Aaron Persky, handed down just six months – a decision which has, and continues to cause considerable controversy.

When you're a reality TV star, stuff can get pretty damn confusing.

Is this actually happening? What show am I on? Is sex appropriate right now? Sure, the list of concerns is endless – just ask Marnie Simpson.

After appearing on This Morning earlier today, the Geordie girl admitted that at times during her stint in the Celebrity Big Brother house she struggled to remember where she was and who she was with.

No, seriously.

Explaining why her behaviour sometimes seemed a little outrageous, Marnie explained: "I went straight from Geordie into there and I was still in my Geordie ways and I forgot that group of people wasn't my Geordie group of people and there were boundaries and sometimes I crossed them."

From flashing Saira Khan to antics in the shower with Lewis, the 24-year-old insists it all came down to her Geordie Shore roots.

"Maybe I'd had a little bit too much to drink, but that type of stuff is really acceptable on Geordie Shore, so when I'm drunk, I just assumed it would be then, but it clearly wasn't."

And while Marnie, who came fourth in the series, was involved in some of the most controversial storylines in this series of CBB, she insists the public has the wrong impression of her.

"When I came out, I was really upset because I saw people saying I'm a bully and that's completely not true," she told This Morning hosts.

Referring to the moment she gave Saira Khan an eyeful, Marnie explained: "It was supposed to be a harmless joke to lighten the mood, because there was a lot of tension in there."

"If you were there, you could feel it. It wasn't a very nice place to be," she said.

Ah yeah, happens to the best of us.

Us ladies who grew up in a bedroom adorned with Spice Girl posters waited with bated breath for news that a real-life reunion was soon to take place, but we were left super disappointed when not one but two of the members decided it just wasn't for them.

And while we can see the logic behind Victoria's decision – enormous fashion label to handle etc – many fans were stunned that Sporty Spice didn't want in on the action.

Clearing up any confusion that may have arisen from her decision, Mel C explained in a column for Love magazine that it just didn't feel right.

"Truth be told, earlier this year, after several face-to-face meetings with the girls, I made the difficult decision not to be part of a proposed reunion with Emma, Geri and Melanie," she explained.

"Victoria had already bowed out, understandably with the demands of her fashion label and her rather large family," Mel continued.

While she says she knew she would be letting the band's die-hard fans down, she had to go with her natural instinct, continuing: "Unfortunately something didn't feel quite right and I had to follow my gut."

Referring to the band's reunion at the London Olympics in 2012, Mel admitted that she felt that that occasion would have been an appropriate farewell.

"For me the absolute pinnacle of my Spice existence was being watched by a billion people around the globe belting out Spice Up Your Life on top of a black cab at the 2012 London Olympic," she admitted.

Mel acknowledged that she's letting a 'lucrative opportunity' slip through her fingers by declining the invite to reunite with the others, but insisted that their time in the spotlight may be over.

"Didn't we reach a peak with the Olympics? There's a lot to be said for bowing out on a high note." she argued.

Ah well, fair enough.

Working out beside an overly enthusiastic gym bunny is one thing, but working out beside the dancer from Kanye West's Fade video is a different story entirely.

Toned beyond all belief and more taut than an elastic band, Teyana Taylor is the woman we're sure we could be if only 23-hour-a-day workouts appealed to us.

Proving that these uber-fit, super-talented people aren't all they're cracked up to be, James Corden recently gave an insight into the horror of sharing a gym space with them.

And the internet is all over it.

Clocking up more than 24,000 hits since its upload to YouTube last night, the Late Late Show host can be seen asking Teyana to dial it down a bit before becoming somewhat hypnotised by her moves.

And in fairness, who wouldn't?

It's been seven years since we lost the King of Pop just two months shy of his 51st birthday on August 29 2009.

And in honour of what would have been his father's 58th birthday yesterday, Prince shared a poem he had written which pays tribute to the man who brought us some of the biggest pop classics of our generation.

Taking to Instagram on Monday, Prince Michael, who was just 12 when his father died, uploaded an ode to his father, writing: "Happy birthday to the Man who was more than a legend. I love you."

"To many he is king, to me, a man. All he inspires, to lead a noble cause. Everyone is family, not a fan," he began.

"Even while receiving thunderous applause, The many know the Legend and the Myth, A lucky few know the Man as he is, But not as the Jackson family fifth." he continued.

"Son, Brother, Father," these few know him as. He is the Myth, the Legend and the Man. He cares for his mother and his children, The world and everyone, he is a lamb."

"He is pure, tested, yet has forgiven. He is the archangel known as Michael. He is with us and our tears we must stifle," he finished.

The post has received more than 11,000 likes from fans who extended their sympathy to the Jackson family on Michael's birthday.

"My thoughts are with you and your family, always. Your father was truly an angel with a huge heart, this world didn't deserve him but the world needed him," wrote one.

"He made such a difference, I'm glad he raised such wonderful kids. Love you all," they continued while another added: "Sobbing."

Prince is older brother to Paris and Prince Michael Jackson II.

The chaos caused by the Luas strikes earlier this year is still fresh in our minds, so the news that Dublin Bus will be striking next month is not sitting easy with us this morning.

According to breaking reports, Dublin Bus drivers will be striking for six days over the course of September.

Dublin Bus users will need to organise alternate modes of transport on September 8th, 9th, 15th, 16th, 23rd and 24th as the strike will result in a complete shutdown of operations.

The announcement comes after Dublin Bus workers rejected a 8.2% pay rise over three years arguing instead for the 18% increase received by Luas workers this year.

"Our members are engaged in a dispute with management concerning what they believe to be a reasonable and fair pay claim," explained  Owen Reidy, organiser of the SIPTU Transport, Energy, Aviation and Construction Division.

"Workers at the company have not had a pay increase for eight years," he explained. "During that period, they have suffered reductions in earnings and have co-operated with three comprehensive restructurings of the company."

Well, that's it – time to call in some favours.

Ever since the Video Music Awards aired on Sunday night, everyone has been talking about Drake and Rihanna.

After declaring his love for her on-stage in front of millions, most people crossed their fingers and hoped that it might just be the real thing for the Hotline Bling singer.

Most people, that is, except Rihanna's ex-boyfriend Chris Brown.

According to Hollywood Life, the rapper, who was charged with assaulting Rihanna in 2009, has little time for Drake's heartfelt declarations.

"Drake‘s doing too much and Chris is laughing at him behind his back," a source told the website. "Between the billboard and the speech – that’s not being a gentlemen, that’s just being corny."

Chris, who is no position to dole out advice on how to treat a woman, is also fairly certain that his ex-girlfriend is nowhere near as interested in Drake as he is in her.

"Drake is trying to be all smooth, but he’s failing because Rihanna doesn’t want him," the insider added.

Well, we'll let Rihanna be the judge of that one, Chris.

Remember when Britney called Justin Stinky and he called her Pinky? Remember when they wore marching denim outfits?

And remember when they broke up, and he released a track which suggested Brit has been far from faithful during their time together?

Yeah, it was super-hard, and we all thought we'd have to give up on love together.

But after moving on from what looked like a pop-perfect union, the former couple found love elsewhere, and now it sounds like enough time has passed for them to possibly reunite…in the recording studio.

According to a recent Q&A for Most Requested Live with Romeo, Britney revealed JT would be up there as one of her 'dream collaborators'.

Listing a number of acclaimed stars, Britney said: "Aerosmith seems really good and bright. He's a genius I think. He's very rock n' roll. He sings from his soul."

"Gwen Stefani, I think she's great," Britney said before adding: "Justin Timberlake is very good."

OK, OK we know. He didn't exactly get the Aerosmith treatment, but of all the musicians she could have named, she went for her first love?

Interesting –  very, very interesting.
