It sounds like Tom Hiddleston was pretty certain his uber-suave 'I heart TS' vest and super-adorbs transfer tat spoke volumes when it came to his burgeoning romance with Taylor Swift.

In fact, it seems the Thor actor might have thought the clamouring press would be content with some loved-up snaps and dodgy-looking tats, and ultimately ask nothing more of him, but it sounds like he was sorely mistaken.

Having arrived in Australia with his new bae on Thursday, Tom was accosted by a local reporter who – unsurprisingly – enquired after Taylor, and it seems Tom wasn't at all interested in giving the press a handy little soundbite about his new romance.

When asked by a 9News reporter if Taylor was enjoying her time on the Gold Coast, the British actor, whose new relationship has made headlines all over the world, said: "I'm not going to answer that, if it's all right."

According to the Irish Independent, the reporter clearly wasn't going to let 35-year-old Tom off the hook that easy and continued to press the issue, asking how the new couple intend to spend their time down under.

Refusing to reveal ANYTHING about his and the Shake It Off singer's Aussie plans, Tom dodged the question and simply said: "I don't know… It's just good to be back."

Jeez Tom, you'd swear you'd been keeping the romance under wraps or something…

Love her or loathe her, there’s no denying that Stephanie Davis has had a fairly rough 2016.

After being publicly derided for cheating on her partner, Sam Reece, with Jeremy McConnell while in the Big Brother house, the former Hollyoaks star became public enemy number one at the beginning of the year.

However, things started to look up for the aspiring singer when her relationship with Dubliner Jeremy appeared to flourish outside the house, before it all went downhill in the glare of the media spotlight.

After more ups and downs than a seesaw, the couple finally called time on their relationship just a few weeks before Stephanie revealed she was pregnant with Jeremy’s child.

While the 23-year-old indeed used social media as a platform to give her side of the story, this decision left her vulnerable to online trolls who poured scorn on her posts and even questioned the validity of her pregnancy claims.

Speaking to OK! magazine, Stephanie confessed that her ex-boyfriend’s attitude in the aftermath of their split left her at her lowest ebb.

"I wouldn’t be alive now if it wasn’t for this baby,’ she revealed during the interview. "Not only was I heartbroken about our split but I was pregnant and all by myself.”

“Then he was throwing all sorts of accusations at me, both privately and on social media, and I couldn’t handle it,” she added.

Exceptionally close to her family, Stephanie revealed that she confided in her parents, saying: ‘I told my parents that I didn’t want to be here anymore and they were so worried that I was going to do something stupid."

"It’s been the worst time of my life – I was suicidal but it gave me something to live for," she added.

Proving that she’s picked herself up after the public fall-out, Stephanie says she's now focused solely on her future, insisting: “I feel like a strong independent woman, I’m going to be the best mum ever.”

We've all been there – You're at an event with your other half, and he says or does something so damn questionable you wonder how the pair of you ever made it past the first date.

Thankfully, it's not just us mere mortals who have to endure these public bust-ups as Bradley Cooper and Irina Shayk proved at Wimbledon this weekend.

While watching the men's final yesterday, 30-year-old Irina looked distinctly put out by her boyfriend in a series of moments which unsurprisingly made their way onto social media.

41-year-old Bradley, who has been dating Irina for more than a year, could be seen trying – and failing –  to lighten the mood between the pair in an incident that will ring a bell with anyone in a relationship.

While Irina looked the other way and resorted to reading a book – upside down – so as not to engage with the actor, Bradley, on the other hand, kept a tense smile plastered on his face and did the ol' 'This will blow over in no time har har har' grin at anyone who happened to sense the atmosphere.

If reports currently doing the rounds are to be believed, Irina's bad mood may have a little something to do with the presence of Bradley's ex Suki Waterhouse at the famous sporting event this weekend.

Having taken Suki to his first ever Wimbledon in 2013, Irina might have been feeling a little put out after running into the actress at the game yesterday.

Or maybe she was just hangry – who knows?

A teenager from Kilkenny has died after collapsing at a Kodaline concert in Marlay Park on Friday night.

With the United States currently reeling from the spate of senseless violence which has taken place in recent days, celebrities have taken to social media in their droves.

Condemning the action of the police force as well as those those who disrupted a peaceful protest in Dallas by opening fire on those in uniform, Twitter has been awash with heartfelt statements of regret over the events unfolding in the US.

And following the shocking episodes of the past week, Kim Kardashian has penned a poignant letter on the impact she feels these events might have on her childrens' future.

I will never stop kissing you and loving you and annoying you

"I want my children to grow up knowing that their lives matter," the mum-of-two wrote on her website this week.

"I do not ever want to have to teach my son to be scared of the police," she continued. "Or tell him that he has to watch his back because the people we are told to trust—the people who 'protect and serve'—may not be protecting and serving him because of the color of his skin."

Urging the public to turn their back on violence when addressing the issues which affect countless communities across the States, Kim continued: "The last thing we need is to fuel anger with more hate or violence especially toward the many incredible police officers who risk their lives every single day to protect our families and communities."

"We must peacefully use the power of our voices and the strength of our numbers to demand changes in the judicial system so that brutality doesn't ever go unpunished."

Insisting that hashtags are 'not enough', North and Saint's mum finished by writing: "It is our responsibility as Americans and as parents to create a safe future for our children."

"We must do something now," she insisted.

When it comes to the weather, us Irish can take almost anything thrown at us, but Lawd, we really need a break from the humid shower-fest we're currently dealing with.

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like we're going to get respite any time soon if the good folk over at Met Éireann are to be believed, and they are.

According to the weekend's forecast, we're in for even more scattered showers coupled with humid conditions – everything we could want after a Saturday spent in the hairdressers,

Southern and Western areas of the country can expect heavy and thundery rainfall tonight which will continue into Saturday, and may be interspersed with welcome sunny spells.

Sunday will bring us more scattered showers while the humid conditions may make way for light breezes.

While temperatures are set to reach 22 degrees in some areas of the country, we are also advised to expect spot flooding in some places.

Oh, marvellous!

If you're an eFlow motorist who is used to flying through tolls – no muss, no fuss, – it looks like you're going to have to start re-stocking the ol' spare change tray in the car.

According to reports, up to 80,000 eFlow motorists using certain roads from August 31 will have to resort to the traditional 'stop and pay' method.

Members of the public using the M1 near Drogheda, the M7/M8 south of Postlaoise and the N25 at Waterford will no longer have their tags recognised as a result of a dispute between eFlow and Celtic Roads Group.

While both companies have confirmed that they hope to resolve the issue as quickly as possible, motorists have been advised to register with a new tag provider before the end of August.

You can find a list of tag companies right here.

She might be one of the biggest stars in the TV and movie industry right now, but that doesn't mean everyone is always a fan of Amy Schumer.

Taking the opportunity to throw a little shade at the Trainwreck star recently, world-famous model, Ashley Graham, suggested Amy was playing it fast and loose with her perspective on plus-size women.

Reflecting on Amy's apparent irritation that she had been grouped alongside Ashley and Melissa McCarthy in a feature for Glamour magazine, Ashley questioned the star's supposed hypocrisy on the matter.

Commenting at the time, Amy said: "Glamour put me in their plus size only issue without asking or letting me know and it doesn't feel right to me. Young girls seeing my body type thinking that is plus size?"

"I can see both sides, but Amy talks about being a big girl in the industry," Ashley said during a recent interview with Cosmopolitan.

"You thrive on being a big girl, but when you’re grouped in with us, you’re not happy about it? Ashley asked. "That, to me, felt like a double standard."

But if people were hoping Ashley's comments might lead to an online spat between the two women, they were left sorely disappointed.

Responding to Ashley's remarks on Twitter, Amy wrote: "I totally understand Ashley's feelings. I don't group myself in with her because she is unbelievably beautiful. Nothing but respect for her."

Equally gushing, Ashley replied: "I have the greatest respect for @amyschumer! So glad to be able to exchange thoughts, ideas & opinions w/ another incredible female force."

"Rock on girl. I'm so grateful for you," Amy replied "You inspire me!"

And that, ladies, is how it's done.

During a Black Lives Matter protest in Texas yesterday, snipers shot and killed five police officers.

Another six were injured – some critically – in the incident which played out in reaction to the highly publicised police brutality against members of the black community in the United States.

"An intensive search for suspects is currently underway," explained Chief Brown of the Dallas Police Department. "No suspects are in custody at this time."

Taking to Twitter in the hours that followed the shocking turn of events in Dallas, many high-profile individuals shared their thoughts on the unexpected display of violence.

"These Dallas shootings are horrific," tweeted John Legend earlier this morning. "Killing these officers is morally reprehensible and completely counterproductive to keeping us safe."

Insistent that the situation between police and the black community requires a peaceful approach, he added: "Being against cops killing is not equal to being for killing cops. We need peace in our streets."

Equally stunned by the violence which erupted in Dallas yesterday, actress, Olivia Wilde, told Twitter followers: "It is truly tragic when a vicious few turn a peaceful protest into a bloodbath. Horrific and sad."

Sharing an image of a placard which read 'If you are not angry, you are not paying attention," former OC actress, Mischa Barton, wrote on Instgram: "All Lives Matter.

Sharing her thoughts on the matter with 37 million followers earlier today, Demi Lovato tweeted: "My heart hurts. God help us" while Mandy Moore wrote: "The unending heartbreak on the news is just beyond devastating & infuriating. I'm at a total loss."

Meanwhile, Jar of Hearts singer, Christina Perri, offered her support to the families of those killed during yesterday's violence, writing: "Praying for the families of the officers killed tonight in dallas. praying we stop trying to end hate with hate."

"Only love can do that," she added in the post which has been liked thousands of times.

The Dallas protest was organised following Wednesday's fatal shooting of Philando Castile, who was shot by officers after being pulled over while travelling in a car with his partner, Diamond Reynolds, and her young daughter.

It is understood Police Scotland officers are currently investigating the separate deaths of a man and woman who had attended the popular music festival.

Commenting on developments, a spokesperson for the force said: "Police Scotland can confirm we are investigating reports of the death of a female and the separate death of a male at T in the Park."

"The deaths are unexplained at this time and work is ongoing to establish the exact circumstances surrounding both."

"We are unable to comment further at this stage," they added.

Remember that time you did a day's work and managed to insult an entire nation in the process? Yeah, us neither, but that's because we're not Rich Cohen of Vanity Fair fame.

The writer, who recently penned a piece on Aussie actress Margot Robbie, has managed in just few words to insult the Australian public, and also give a frankly bizarre assessment of both Margot's appearance and prowess on screen.

And, unsurprisingly, people are absolutely fuming.

Responding to Rich's description of Australia where he writes Australia is 'America 50 years ago, sunny and slow, a throwback, which is why you go there for throwback people', social media users have taken to Twitter in their droves to pour scorn on Rich's assessment of the land Down Under.

"Clearly written by a man who knows NOTHING about Australia," wrote one. "It's full of things about the country that simply aren't true."

And it wasn't only Rich's description of Margot's native country that riled people, but his sexist assessment of the Wolf of Wall Street actress, writing: "She is 26 and beautiful, not in that otherworldly, catwalk way but in a minor knock-around key, a blue mood, a slow dance."

Fearful the wider public might have been fooled by Margot's hair dye and high heels, Rich hastily added: "She is blonde but dark at the roots. She is tall but only with the help of certain shoes." Thanks for that, Rich.

Drawing attention to the approach Rich took with the piece, another Twitter user wrote: "The quietly awful thing the Vanity Fair piece did is steer the conversation away from Margot Robbie's talent, which is what matters."

Twitter users have slammed the American publication for allowing the piece to go to print, but thus far neither Rich nor the magazine have responded to the controversy.

While Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is currently thrilling audiences in London, it looks like it was the cast of the play that got the biggest thrill of the run so far when Emma Watson decided to rock up at the Palace Theatre in the English capital last night.

While die-hard fans had previously questioned the fact Noma Dumezweni – a black actress – would be playing the adult Hermione on stage, Emma Watson happily gave the award-winning actress her seal of approval, and yes in spite of this, they had yet to meet face to face.

Surprising the cast last night, 26-year-old Emma arrived backstage and posed for photos with fellow actors before meeting Noma in one very moving moment,

Emma took to social media to share that moment with fans and followers, writing: "It was SO lovely to meet you" alongside a photo of the pair gazing at each other.

Noma did the same and it sounds like the actress was bowled over by their touching meeting, writing: "Now I feel I can share the maHUSSIVE joy I felt, alongside the company when a beautiful, humble and very kind young lady." (sic)

"It really was quite emotional to be in your company. And Thank you 4 your lovely self," she continued. "We spoke of you with MAJOR respect."

Fans of all things Potter-related fell all over themselves as the posts were uploaded, with one writing: "It's so beautiful to see you together. Thanks for sharing this photo with us. All Potterheads are dying."

The posts have been liked almost 50,000 times since last night.
