When it comes to your standard bromance, it looks like there exist some hard and fast rules.

And for Olly Murs, it seems the role of wing man is definitely up there with the most important.

While chatting about the friendship he shares with former One Direction star, Niall Horan, the X Factor winner admits that he uses Niall's celebrity status as a way of meeting women.

Speaking to the Daily Star, Olly, who recently starred alongside Niall in the celebrity version of Gogglebox, said: "We always have a laugh when we go out. We’re like brothers."

"I’m like his older brother, so it all depends on the woman, whether she wants a little bit of experience, which is all I’ve got on my side, or a really good looking lad with banter," Olly joked.

Elaborating on the dynamic which exists between the pair on a night out, Olly, who split from his girlfriend over a year ago, added: "Niall’s a great guy to hang out with."

"It’s brilliant, he was in the biggest boy band in the world so I’m always after his scraps," Olly said.

His scraps, Olly? Well, that's only charming…

As part of The X Factor’s biggest success story, Niall Horan was surely once the apple of Simon Cowell’s eye.

But ever since signing with Universal, it seems the Mullingar man’s relationship with his former mentor has gone downhill.

X Factor sources have told The Sun that despite having a new song out, Niall will not be asked to perform as part of this year’s series because Simon believes he lacks loyalty.

The insider said: “Niall hasn’t been invited to sing on any of the remaining live shows, despite having a big release.  That’s not an oversight from the bookings team, it’s intentional.”

“Simon really thought the 1D boys would show loyalty after he mentored them on the show and made them the huge global success they are.  Instead they went behind his back,” they continued.

“He’s not going to do them any favours.  He knows artists love performing on the show as there are eight million viewers to promote their songs to.”

A source close to the 23-year-old singer says he is well aware of the situation with Simon but suggested that he has chosen to take the high road.

“They knew when he didn’t sign with Syco he wouldn’t be appearing on The X Factor. Everyone is totally fine.”

“He’s extremely proud and grateful for everything The X Factor did for him,” they said.

Earlier this month, the 57-year-old music mogul suggested Niall’s first solo single would have made number one if he had signed with Syco.

He then bragged that James Arthur has taken the chart’s top spot after returning to his label.

That was one of the best performances ever seen on @TheXFactor. Congratulations @LittleMix

If bets are anything to go by, it looks like Niall Horan could be the next member to leave One Direction.

Despite Niall saying last week that a reunion is in the "foreseeable future," bookies believe that he'll soon say goodbye to the lads.

Since the Mullingar man dropped This Town, there has been a huge surge in bets on him quitting.

Tim Reynolds, Sun Bets spokesperson told The Sun: "We've seen money this morning on Niall to leave One Direction, and a most of it has come from Irish punters, we think they might know something we don't.

"We had Niall as the 5/1 outsider to be the next band member to leave 1D, but after the number of bets we've seen today we've now suspended betting.

"One way or another, I suspect this could be the end of One Direction," he added.

If you thought the Cavan twins were the greatest thing to come out of Gogglebox, something tells us you'll be changing your mind once this year's Stand Up To Cancer special hits our screens.

Getting their chill on in order to raise money for charity, Niall Horan and Olly Murs will be giving the Cavan twins and Limerick brothers a run for their money, and we can't wait to see what they have to say for themselves.

Commenting on his involvement in this year's special, Olly said: "I'm such a big fan of Gogglebox so being able to be on it with Niall is amazing, especially when it's for such a brilliant cause like Stand Up To Cancer."

The two lads, who rose to fame on The X Factor, loved taking part in the show, with Niall adding: "Olly and I had a great laugh filming Gogglebox and hope that we can raise as much as possible for such a great cause."

"With every penny raised going towards finding cures for cancer, we're honoured to be a part of Stand Up To Cancer's fundraising this year." Niall said.

If it's even half as good as seeing Jamie Dornan suppin' on beer and slagging the plastic bag charge, it'll be amazing.

No pressure though. lads…

We all know that the red chair can be a hit-or-miss concoction of tales good, bad, and (very) ugly.

But it was a certain Sean from Donegal who on Friday gave what we believe to be one of the best stories ever told on The Graham Norton Show

Recounting a rather unusual experience at a friend's wedding, Sean relayed to the audience the moment that the groom got up to address the gathered guests.

Asking everyone in the room to get up out of their seats, this groom next instructed the diners to turn over their plates; those with a clear plate being allowed to sit down again. Those who found a red dot on their crockery – a total of eight men – however, had to remain standing.

The groom then proceeded to reveal that he was aware that his new bride had slept with the eight men during their engagement. Stating that he planned on getting an annulment, the scorned man walked out of the room.

Stars on Norton's show – including Niall Horan and Chris O'Dowd – expressed a glorious mixture of surprise and admiration as Sean's story wrapped up.

And understandably, the Donegal man was allowed to walk from the infamous red chair too.

Niall Horan and Chris O'Dowd appeared on The Graham Norton Show last night and possibly made it the most Irish show ever.

The banter was flying as Niall spoke about his new solo track and we'd also say Chris was well on his way to pint number three when the show began.

The singer spoke about his hometown Mullingar and how the guards still bring him home after a night out!

But, then something so beautifully Irish happened when Niall went up to perform This Town.

Yep, Chris gave him a right old slap on the arse, like something we'd all see on the side of a GAA pitch.

Ah lads, you made the show wonderful.

It's been a wild few months for Niall Horan between opening up his own golf management agency to debuting his first solo single this month.

It's safe to say we all love Niall, but this open letter to his fans has just made us melt. He begins by thanking his fans for all of the support.

"Thank you for your incredible reaction to my first solo song. I'm simply blown away by the love This Town is getting. You never fail to surprise me with your passion and support.

"I'm back in London at the moment. It's really good to be back at home after doing loads of travelling," he wrote in a newsletter on his website.

"Wrote some good stuff and met some really cool people. Then I went up to the Ryder Cup which was a great week. So yeah. It's good to be home."

Niall then revealed he's a bit anxious to perform on The Graham Norton Show, which is understandable since he's used to having three other guys behind him.

"I'm doing my first TV performance this week on Graham Norton which is really nerve wrecking and exciting all at the same time. I'll be doing tv shows over the coming weeks too.

"Also I'm doing the final bits of writing over the next couple of weeks and then it's time to record the album. Can't wait to share the album with you all.

"Love you all very much and thank you all again," he added.

Told you you'd love him even more.

When Niall Horan decided not to sign with Simon Cowell's record label after going solo, we imagine he knew he'd be in for a few sly digs along the way.

And, unsurprisingly, Mr. Cowell did not disappoint in this department.

After hearing that our favourite Mullingar man had only reached number 9 in the UK charts with his first solo offering, This Town, the music mogul decided to twist the knife a little bit.

"He probably would have had a Number One single if he'd stayed with me." Simon remarked.

And just in case that wasn't enough to enrage Niall and his die-hard fans, Simon went one step further by reminding the public who did, in fact, nab the top spot this week.

"But you know who does have a Number One this week? James Arthur. Very pleased he's back with us with a fantastic record. Hashtag loyalty," Simon jeered.

Jeez Simon, how dya really feel?

Niall Horan just released his first solo track, This Town, last week, and it's already exploding.

The former Directioner has made history in the States by becoming the first artists the debut at number one on the Social 50 Countdown Chart.

The chart is given data that's tracked by music analytic company Next Big Sound.

Basically, it ranks the most popular artists on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Wikipedia, Tumblr and Vine… and Niall has come out on top.

I'm sure the Mullingar man will also be delighted to know that he beat his former bandmate Zayn, who went solo last year. Zayn came third on the chart when he first debuted his new music.

We're delighted for Niall!

It seems like you can't just please anyone.

Niall Horan had a rather odd exchange with a fan while on the Kyle and Jackie O Show promoting his new single.

Niall had a Q&A with fans on the radio show, and a comment by Canadian student, Eve, left the Mullingar man totally red-faced.

While speaking to Eve, she was in a college class when Jackie O said: "Tell [your friends] you're on line with Niall right now and they will totally lose their minds."

But Eve bluntly replied: "But I live in Canada… no one really cares."

OUCH.

Niall just began to laugh nervously as Jackie tried her best saying: "Oh sorry buddy… we would chop that out if we weren't live."

Poor Niall, we would have went mental for him!

We are also happy to report that Niall's former band-mates are delighted for him.

Liam Payne tweeted the Mullingar man yesterday sending him support and saying he was proud of him.

Former One Direction member Harry Styles also sent our Nialler a tweet, complimenting the new single!

Louis Tomlinson, proud dad to Freddie Reign, sent Niall a tweet telling him he was "super proud" of him.

We love how supportive these lads are with each other.

HOWEVER, Zayn has been very quiet on the matter.

Have a listen to the new single and let us know what you think…

Well this is totally out of the blue!

Niall Horan has unexpectedly released his first solo song today – and it's a good one!

Earlier this afternoon, Radio Disney tweeted and then deleted a message, writing: "Surprise! Listen to Radio Disney RIGHT NOW to hear @NiallOfficial's brand new song #ThisTown! And stay tuned to hear from Niall!"

Obviously, this sent fans into a frenzie because there has been absolutely no mention of it until today, but alas, HERE IT IS.

It's a love song, and a pretty good one at that. Be ready to fall in love with Niall Horan all over again.
