We always knew Niall Horan was a bit of a sweetheart but the 1D member really outdid himself today when he teamed up with professional golfer Justin Rose to raise a whopping £800,000 for charity.
The two-day Horan and Rose Charity Event consisted of a star-studded gala dinner at The Grove in Watford last night, followed by a golf event this morning.
And it was all to help raise funds and awareness for Cancer Research UK Kids & Teens who received £560,000 from the total raised.
The rest of the money will be split between Irish Autism Action and the Kate & Justin Rose Foundation.
Olly Murs joined Niall and Justin on stage at last night’s dinner and gave a live performance to the lucky attendees who then tucked into grub served up by Jamie Oliver and his team from Fifteen restaurant.
Speaking after the event, 22-year-old Niall said: “It was an incredible night. I had a brilliant time and I’m overwhelmed by how much money we have raised for the charities."
"Thank you to everyone that has supported the Horan and Rose Event this year. We definitely want to do more!" he added.
His Ryder cup-winning companion said: “I’m delighted to partner with Niall on such a fantastic event, for a cause that we are both very passionate about."
"The amount raised was truly amazing and, due to the generosity of everyone who attended the event, we will make a huge impact on Cancer Research UK Kids & Teens, who fund research into finding cures and kinder treatments for children’s cancers.”
Well done lads!
