20 years later: Kris Jenner’s guilt over friend’s murder haunts her
Kris Jenner is opening up about the murder of her best friend Nicole Brown Simpson 20 years ago in a new documentary The Secret Tapes of the OJ Case: The Untold Story.
The ex-wife of Robert Kardashian, who was part of OJ’s legal team at the time, has said that she feels intense guilt about not being able to save her friend.
“I will always feel guilty that I didn’t pay more attention and didn’t speak up when I thought anything was wrong or asked her more, ‘Do you want to talk about it?’”
Nicole suffered serious stab wounds and her death lead to the famous murder trial of OJ Simpson, 68, who was acquitted of her murder in 1995.
The late Robert Kardashian was a member of the NFL star’s defence team. Before her death, Nicole and Kris had grown very close and Nicole is said to have confided in Kris about her worries concerning OJ’s behaviour.
“At the end of Nicole’s life, I think she finally was at a place where she knew she had to be more vocal with what was going on and she was in trouble.”
The reality TV star told ABC News:
“The one thing she would tell all of us by the time, you know, it got to that level was, “He’s going to kill me and he’s going to get away with it.”’
