Whitney Port had the best response ever to cruel Instagram haters
Like her fellow Hills alum Lauren Conrad, Whitney Port is a huge social media addict, using the medium to promote her lifestyle website and to offer followers a behind-the-scenes look at her life.
She's a particular fan of showing off her impeccably clear skin with regular fresh-faced selfies – but it turns out the response to her snaps hasn't always been positive.
Taking to Instagram yesterday, Whitney admitted that she had been cruelly told she looked "dead" in various no make-up selfies by insensitive commenters.
"Lately, when I post a pic of myself without makeup on @instagram, people hate- telling me I look dead or anemic or whatever!" the stunning blonde wrote next to a fresh-faced snap of herself.
Having dealt with acne during her teens and early twenties, Whitney says she now embraces her clear skin and is proud to show it off.
"I struggled with my skin A LOT growing up. I had terrible acne throughout high school and college and finally got it under control in my mid 20's," she wrote.
"I've learned that keeping it healthy and clear is mostly due to keeping it clean.
"I TRULY think the key to inner and outer beauty isn't about all the things we can buy to cover up our skin but how we can embrace our skin and keep it healthy."
In an effort to promote the benefits of going bare-faced, Whitney is encouraging her fans to share their own no make-up snaps with the hashtag #OurCleanSkinIsIn.
"So goodbye haters! I'm gonna embrace my bare, colorless, pale and ghostly skin because I don't need to hide behind anything," she added.
With her wedding to long-term boyfriend Tim Rosenman fast approaching, Whitney has been celebrating, heading to Las Vegas last month for a glam hen party, where she skipped the bare-faced look for bold pink lipstick and lots of contouring.
We cannot WAIT to see her wedding snaps.
