Ellie Goulding is no stranger to doing a few covers and her unique voice usually comes as a welcome variation on a classic tune. 

And this year, Ellie is treating us to her own rendition of a classic Christmas song. 

The 28-year-old has just released her own version of O Holy Night as a free download and gave us previews of the tune on social media.

Posting a preview to her Instagram, the star said: "I recorded this for fun and as a *christmassy* thank you for all the beautiful support I've had this year."

Ellie has had a pretty big year with the release of her third album and with her single On My Mind topping the charts.
