It looks as if many people are gunning for Zayn Malik’s place in One Direction – even former boyband members.

O-Town (remember them?!) alumni Ashley Parker Angel shared a mock audition tape on Twitter, asking the lads to consider him as a ‘token older brother member’.

The video, although branded by Ashley as a ‘fake audition’ saw the singer belting out One Direction’s hit Night Changes and it certainly didn’t sound very fake to us.

We reckon Ashley is well qualified for this position, do you remember this gem?

Niall Horan has landed his dream job and is tweeting all about it.

However, fans need not fear he is abandoning One Direction quite yet as the singer is currently acting as a caddie for golfer, Rory McIlroy.

Niall, as a caddie? We know, it's hard to imagine – but true!

Niall couldn’t contain his excitement about landing the gig, tweeting a photo of himself and Rory, writing: “About to caddie for @McIlroyRory!! Follow @TheMasters to watch us win the #par3contest.”

Now that is a serious dream team – we wouldn’t want to be taking these legends on, that’s for sure.

At least Niall has something to fall back on if things with One Direction don't work out…

It's been almost two weeks since Zayn Malik made the shock decision to quit One Direction for good, and his former bandmates are finally speaking out.

Zayn sent millions of 1D fangirls into meltdown when he announced his exit from the band, just days after he had quit the Asian leg of their tour to fly home to the UK to make peace with his fiancée Perrie Edwards.

Niall, Harry, Liam and Louis have had a "tough" time of late, they revealed in an interview with The Sun. Discussing how they have coped, Liam said the last ten days have "probably [been] the toughest since the band was formed."

Liam says the boys are "gutted" with Zayn's decision but they have been doing their best to carry on as normal.

"We're gutted that Zayn chose to leave, but now after a few performances as a four piece, we're feeling confident and are determined to carry on stronger than ever," he admitted.

Less than 24 hours after Zayn first quit the tour, his remaining bandmates had to continue with gigs across Southeast Asia.

Niall says their main motivation for carrying on with the tour and with future music is their legions of fans. "All we want to do is make them proud and return their faith in us with a brilliant tour and an amazing new album," he told the newspaper.

It’s no doubt been a very challenging few weeks for Little Mix’s Perrie Edwards with rumours about her fiancé, Zayn Malik cheating on her swirling the media.

On top of that, she and Zayn made a very big decision on his future as a solo artist and so the pair have jetted off on a much-needed holiday, having been spotted boarding a private jet on Monday.

Although the 21-year-old has kept a dignified silence over the speculation about Zayn and various women, it looks as if she is keen to let her fans know that her relationship is still on track.

Taking to Instagram, Perrie shared a very sweet photo of Zayn kissing her on the cheek, with no caption to be seen.

It looks as if everything is either forgiven, forgotten – or both!

All of this One Direction drama seems to be getting worse as the days go by…

Now, Louis Tomlinson has addressed speculation that the rumoured new Zayn Malik track was actually a rejected One Direction song.

In a reply to The Mirror on Twitter indicating the track was most certainly NOT a track meant for One Direction, Louis simply asked: “Is that an April fool?”

The tweet comes only a day after Louis was involved in a Twitter spat with music producer, Naughty Boy, who Zayn is said to be working with. The singer accused Naughty Boy of trying to 'wind up' One Direction fans with controversial tweets about the former boyband member. 

Zayn, meanwhile, has remained completely silent on the entire situation but was seen jetting off with his fiancée, Perrie Edwards, on a private plane yesterday – no doubt wanting to escape all of the drama. 

Eek – it really does sound like things are going to get worse before they get better.

Zayn Malik has been accused of cheating on his fiancée, Perrie Edwards not once but twice in the past few weeks.

The entire situation began when the then-One Direction star was photographed with his arms around a fan, and later holding hands with her.

Then, this weekend a Swedish model named Martina Olsson spoke out about her affair with Zayn, who told The Sun that Perrie should leave him – and soon: “Perrie should not stay with Zayn any longer because he has cheated on her and continues to lie about it.”

However, Zayn has now denied any wrongdoing, with a spokesperson for the star saying: “Zayn completely denies any allegation that he had sex with Martina Olsson.”

We really hope for Perrie’s sake that he’s telling the truth as the pair are said to be planning a wedding much sooner than expected.

The couple were spotted over the weekend looking at properties to buy together in Hertfordshire in the UK.

Stop the lights – Niall Horan reportedly has a new lady in his life.

The singer, whose had an emotional few days following his bandmate Zayn quitting One Direction last Wednesday is said to be dating model and TV star, Amy Willerton.

According to The Mirror the pair have enjoyed many secret dates since meeting last December but have somehow managed to keep things very much under wraps, until now that is.

With Niall now on a huge world tour with the boys it’s hard to know if this blossoming romance will last but we must say they would make a very cute couple. 

It certainly appears as if Niall's priorities lie very much with One Direction at the moment, evident when he took to Twitter to promise fans his all following Zayn's announcement:

“Been a mad few days and your support has been incredible as per usual! This in turn Spurs us on to make the best music we possibly can … Put on great shows/tours for you guys. You are the best fans in the world and you deserve nothing less from us!”

Hmm, let's see where things go for Niall and Amy.

It’s only been a few days since Zayn Malik announced that he was leaving One Direction, but already it looks as though another band member may be looking to other projects.

Clearly Simon Cowell is looking to shake things up a bit on the next series of The X Factor, with the departure of long-term host Dermot O’Leary, and now it seems as though he may have his eyes on a new judge.

Indeed, word on the internet today is that One Direction star Louis Tomlinson is being hotly tipped to take up a spot on the judging panel.

The report comes as Louis’ plans for life after One Direction were revealed this week, with the 23-year-old eyeing up a career in talent management.

As well as having launched his own company called 78 Productions Ltd., he has also been signed up as a mentor for Sony’s ‘Be in the Band 2015’.

A source told The Sun: “Louis has his business head screwed on and is busy making plans for the future. He’s rated very highly at Sony and they knew he’d be great to get on board.”

“There are even industry rumours he’ll end up as an X Factor judge at some point down the line,” the source added.

Of course, Louis got a taste of life as a judge on last year’s show, during which he helped Simon and co. during the audition stages.

With devastated One Direction fans still in the pits of despair over the news that Zayn Malik has quit the band for good, we can’t imagine that they will be too pleased by the latest news.

According to reports, Simon Cowell has already snapped Zayn up as a solo artist on his Syco record label, and will be mentoring him as he prepares to go it alone.

While this is good news for those die-hard Zayn fans who just want to hear that beautiful voice, no doubt many will be gutted by the move.

Sources claim that Simon secured an agreement with Zayn right after he quit the band, so as to avoid any release clashes with One Direction.

“Simon was very understanding about him leaving the band but quickly made it clear he would stay a Syco artist for his future projects. He’ll now be able to make sure any releases are timed so they don’t clash with anything by One Direction,” an insider told The Sun.

The news that Zayn is going solo has no doubt come as a shock to disappointed fans, particularly after saying that the reason he quit One Direction was so that he could ‘be a normal 22-year-old’.

It will be interesting to see how his new career pans out.

So the internet went a little crazy yesterday when a video of Harry Styles ‘crying’ on stage just before the Zayn announcement emerged online.

However, the release of another video shows that Harry was NOT crying because of Zayn but because he actually got hit in the face with a glowstick –ouch.

The video shows Harry in visible pain after a glowstick is launched from the crowd, making him turn around and rub his eyes, making it appear as if he is in tears. 

While we're sure Harry was heartbroken over the news that his best friend is no longer his bandmate, it does seem as if this was not the reason he was crying on stage in Jakarta. 

Perhaps fans could stick to just throwing teddy bears next time!

Zayn Malik has spoken out about his decision to leave One Direction.

In an interview with The Sun, done only six hours after the announcement was made, Zayn explained how we now feels in control of his life: “It is crazy and wild and a bit mad. But at the same time I’ve never felt more in control of my life.”

The singer, who first rose to fame through The X Factor wished his friends Louis, Niall, Liam and Harry all the best: “I feel like I’m doing what’s right – right by myself and right by the boys, so I feel good … They’ve always been really cool about it. And they understand that, you know, it’s not real to me anymore.”

While many fans have speculated that Zayn’s fiancée, Perrie Edwards was behind the split, Zayn says they are still very much together and she is supportive of his decision to leave the band: “Yeah, she’s always supportive. She’s always good man.”

Wow – so that’s it then, Zayn has finally spoken out.

We’re glad to hear he is still on good terms with the guys and that his relationship with Perrie is still on track.

After all, we still have a One Direction wedding to look forward to – even if Zayn isn’t even really in the band anymore!

It was a given that fans would be heartbroken when Zayn Malik announced his decision to leave One Direction – but we didn’t realise things would get this bad.

A terrifying hashtag #cut4zayn has been trending on Twitter since last night and sees devastated fans sharing graphic images of cuts they have inflicted on themselves because of the news.

Alarmingly, many fans also urged others to do the same, telling Twitter: “the faster you cut, the fast he [Zayn] comes back.”

The hashtag has deeply concerned parents and mental health charities across the world, with many sending out warning to fans not to hurt themselves.

We really hope any fans considering hurting themselves because of the news receive the help they need as soon as possible.
