Harry Styles and Liam Payne have been the only members of One Direction so far to break their silence following the shock news of Zayn Malik’s departure yesterday afternoon.

Liam took to Twitter only four hours ago to voice his feelings about the events, saying simply: “So glad to be in bed after a long and strange 24 hours.”

Harry meanwhile, chose not to mention the incident at all, writing to fans: “All the love as always. H.”

Niall and Louis have not broken their silence on social media as of yet while Zayn’s last Twitter message is the one that seems to have kicked everything off, writing angrily: “I’m 22 years old… I love a girl named Perrie Edwards. And there’s a lot of jealous fu**s in this world I’m sorry for what it looks like x.”

It seems that although Liam may have said very little, his message about the events that unfolded yesterday don’t exactly seem to say that all is great between the lads.

Harry was also spotted crying on stage before the announcement was made public, proving that Zayn's departure has obviously been very hard on the guys. 

Let’s hope we’re wrong – after all,  there’s always a reunion tour… 

Update@11:49: Louis Tomlinson has now also taken to Twitter to speak about Zayn's departure from the band. 

Louis took the opportunity to assure fans that the band will keep going as a foursome – even promising to make the new album better than ever.

An innocent exchange went VERY wrong for One Direction singer Liam Payne last night, when he brought the wrath of the entire Justin Bieber fandom upon himself.

Just hours earlier, the singer had been busy tweeting his long term girlfriend Sophie Smith to let her know he was missing her – but the sweet moment didn't last long! 

The drama started when a particularly crazy Belieber made a comment at Liam's expense, writing, "@Real_Liam_Payne Isn't it kinda depressing for you to know that Justin Bieber will always be more successful than you?"

Liam gets thousands of Twitter notifications every day but this message obviously struck a nerve as the singer soon replied, writing, "@arianasmccann how many times have I been arrested," referencing Justin's less-than-perfect legal record.

That would have been the end of that – if Ariana (and thousands of other Bieber-crazy fans) hadn't continued to plague Liam with insults for the rest of the evening, calling him "pathetic," "a whale" and an "untalented, embarrassing joke."

Ouch.

Even after receiving spades of online abuse, Liam managed to stay relatively cool, posting a series of tweets to try and calm things down.

Unfortunately he didn't act soon enough though as the hashtag #LIAMHASNOCHILL began trending on Twitter almost instantly.

Poor Liam – we bet he'll be staying off Twitter for a while!

While Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik deal with their relationship woes, it seems that Liam Payne is feeling some hurt of his own.

The singer took to Twitter last night to send his girlfriend Sophia Smith a very sweet message, telling her he misses her – aww!

Posting a photo of Sophia looking gorgeous in a light-coloured one-piece swimsuit, Liam wrote: “I really miss you.” How sweet!

Liam and Sophia have been dating since 2013 but are old friends, having gone to school together.

The One Direction star’s display of love comes at a difficult time for his bandmates with Zayn currently signed off with stress, thought to be related to relationship woes with Perrie Edwards.  

Meanwhile, a rep for the band confirmed that Louis Tomlinson and his long-term love Eleanor Calder have split after four years together.

Zayn Malik sent One Direction fans into a frenzy yesterday when he suddenly quit the band's world tour to fly home to the UK.

Although the official 1D statement said that Zayn had pulled out of future gigs due to stress, it's widely believed the real reason for his shock departure was his fiancée Perrie Edwards.

Zayn found himself in the doghouse earlier this week after he was pictured looking seriously flirty with another woman while partying in Thailand.

The singer apologised publicly on Twitter two days ago before deciding it would be better done in person:

The 1D star arrived back to the UK in the early hours of this morning, and was pictured entering the couple's shared London home at around 5am.

It's not clear what went on after that, but Perrie was pictured leaving the house by herself around five hours later, carrying an overnight bag and getting into a taxi.

Well… that certainly doesn't look good!

It was definitely a big show of love for Zayn to quit the One Direction tour, but we reckon it's going to take more than five hours for him to win Perrie back.

Hopefully he's got some more plans up his sleeve to show her how sorry he is!

Trouble in paradise?

One Direction star Zayn Malik has been engaged to Perrie Edwards since August 2013, and although the couple have always said their wedding will be a long way off, recent events suggest it might not happen at all.

Little Mix singer Perrie was spotted out and about in London yesterday with her ring finger looking unusually bare, for the second time in three days.

Perrie has rarely been spotted without the diamond-laden sparkler since getting engaged, making her choice to leave home without it all the more worrying.

The blonde singer attempted to hide her hand from photographers as she walked to her car in London yesterday. A spokesperson for Perrie says she is simply having the ring cleaned, but it's unclear whether this is true.

Zayn is currently on a break from One Direction's world tour but has remained quiet on social media and has not been spotted in public with Perrie of late. 

Before Christmas, Perrie spoke to reporters at the Cosmopolitan Ultimate Women Awards about the couple's plans for a long engagement, saying they were in no hurry to get married. "I don’t want to rush it – I want to take my time and make sure it’s perfect," she said. "We need time.”

We hope the pair can get their plans back on track soon!

So, we all know the lead singer of Kasabian has never been the biggest Directioner out there, having once called them "five little d*cks", but we kind of thought he was done talking about them now.

How wrong were we?

It doesn't seem like Tom Meighan is quite done airing his views at all if a recent interview is anything to go by.

Opening up about the pop phenomenon yet again, Tom said: "They're millionaires but they're five no-ones who have won the lottery. They're massive, but they're a product, we're not."

In a bizarre rant against the Story Of My Life singers, Tom goes on to compare them to a bathroom staple, saying: "They're like shampoo. You buy it to put in your hair and wash it out, like the Spice Girls."

Errr, OK.

Sceptical about the band's future, Tom suggested that the end was nigh, saying: "They'll wanna be arty and do something and they'll break up."

While the rest of us were left scratching our heads about Tom's comments and wondering why he seems to care so much, the band's beloved hairstylist Lou Teasdale was quick to jump to their defence, tweeting: "Lol at Kasabian attacking one direction again.I personally have never witnessed amore embarrassing band than…Kasabian. #shade"

Indeed.

One Direction fans, prepare to get very jealous!

An Australian mega-fan has apparently caught the eye of the 1D guys numerous times over the last few years, and has even slept with Harry, Zayn and Niall on different occasions.

None of the guys were in relationships at the time, according to a friend of the fan who revealed the story on Australian radio station NOVA 969.

The friend, who went only by the name Lachlan, claimed that the girl has been plucked from the crowd by security guards at a 1D gig a few years ago and told to come backstage later.

"All I can say is that she's been with three… Zayn, Niall and the latest one is Harry," said Lachlan, adding that each time the girl had been called in advance by security guards and been invited to one of the band's Australian gigs.

When asked how the whole thing began, Lachlan said, "It started out when she got picked out by a security guard and [they] got pulled aside, got their number and were invited back to The Star… I know all this because she's my missus' best friend."

The truth, or a ridiculous fantasy from a fan? We can't know for sure, but we do know that the lads have a soft spot for Australian women – earlier this week Niall was spotted getting VERY cosy with Sydney fan Melissa Anne in the Melbourne's Crown Casino. It's rumoured the pair have been seeing each other on-and-off since November.

After photos were published of the pair allegedly kissing, Melissa began receiving abusive comments and tweets from crazed fans online:

One Direction fans have been left heartbroken after Niall Horan was reportedly spotted kissing a woman on a recent night out.

The pretty brunette, said to be named Melissa Anne, is a 21-year-old from Sydney and the pair were spotted getting close at a casino in Australia recently.

After fans shared the photos of them on Twitter, it didn’t take long for things to kick off…

However, since the photos emerged it has been said that they were not kissing but simply talking close as the bar was loud and that Melissa actually has a boyfriend.

Poor ol’ Niall – can’t even have a sneaky shift without making thousands of girls cry!

So it's Harry Styles' birthday today and how did dedicated 1D fans show their love for the big-haired, doe-eyed charmer?

They raised over $16,000 for a charity close to Harry's heart. Wow!

Harry is a long-time supporter of The London Lesbian and Gay Switchboard and it looks like the 21-year-old star's fans pulled out all the stops to honour their hero's big day.

Getting the ball rolling on Twitter, the dedicated fans encouraged one another to donate to the voluntary organisation and it certainly paid off.

Donations have been pouring in from all over the world and there's no doubt that fans dug deep for Harry's big day.

The singer has shown his support for gay rights in the past and even recorded a special anniversary message for the London Lesbian and Gay Switchboard on their 40th year in operation.

We can only imagine how overwhelmed Harry must be today!

It’s not very often that Perrie Edwards shows off the engagement ring given to her by One Direction’s Zayn Malik.

The Little Mix star shared a photo of her stunning engagement ring complaining that a bath bomb had dyed her hand purple: “That shi** moment your bath bomb dyes your hand purple!”

We feel your pain, Perrie…

Perrie and Zayn have been quiet about their engagement for the past few months, simply saying they haven’t gotten around to planning a wedding yet. This may come as no surprise given that One Direction remain to be one of the biggest bands in the world while Little Mix are currently in America.

Perrie and Zayn have been together since her stint on The X Factor back in 2012 and have been engaged since 2013.

Liam Payne is not one to hold back on Twitter when it comes to haters or false rumours, but it seems something more has been on his mind lately.

Following a very noted absence on social media since the first week of January, Liam has come back with a serious message for his fans – give back.

In a lengthy post, the young singer spoke of his desire to do more humanitarian work to help those who are not as fortunate and urged his fans to do the same:

We really love Liam’s sentiment and it truly seems like the words are coming from somewhere very real – it sounds as if he has had something of an epiphany when it comes to the life he is leading!

Despite being the funniest member of One Direction in the very beginning, Louis Tomlinson seems to have turned a little grumpy in recent times.

Unfortunately, this is all too true in his latest tweets, where he took aim at some of the members of the Celebrity Big Brother house.

The 23-year-old is clearly glued to this year’s series, but he had some choice words for some of the housemates – and, of course, he took to Twitter to make his feelings known.

In a rather nasty tweet aimed at actress Nadia Sawalha, Louis moaned: “Nadia go to sleep and shut up love!! All this mummy bulls*** is boring!”

Ouch. What did Nadia ever do to you, Louis?

But Louis reserved his most damning criticism for Perez Hilton, tweeting: “As soon as Perez leave the Big Brother house they need to put him in a mental institution and throw away the key!! Poor guy’s lost the plot.”

Way harsh, Louis!

While we can’t help but think Louis was being a little mean with his tweets, his followers seemed to think he was well in line, with 100,000 people favouriting his suggestion for Perez!

Three words for you, Louis – chill out, man!
