Dedicated One Direction fans will remember that time the band got stuck inside a store due to the hordes of fans literally pressing themselves up against the door (it was so scary).

So we just cannot believe what Niall Horan got away with doing last night.

The Mullingar man took to social media to let the world know that he was on the London Tube, even uploading a selfie – and there is not a frantic, screaming fan in sight!

What is going on in the world?!

Maybe it was too late in the night for Niall’s most dedicated fans to be out and about, or maybe everyone learned a valuable lesson about privacy after what happened to Harry Styles over the weekend.

There were some pretty furious fans on the rampage yesterday, when a photo of a worse-for-wear Harry vomiting at the side of a road showed up online, with the photo then going viral across social media and news websites.

It’s comforting to know that Niall can be a “normal” person and hop on public transport without being mobbed by crazed fans.

Also, on a side note, we are loving his stripey shirt!

Five hot singers isn't enough for One Direction it seems, as the group have taken on a new band member.

Well, kind of! 

Actor Danny DeVito is set to star in the lads' new music video for Steal My Girl, and he was definitely looking the part on set! Niall tweeted this picture with the excited message, "Cant believe that Hollywood Royalty @DannyDevito is in the steal my girl video! what a legend!"

The boys just look in awe of him – very cute!

Danny himself seemed delighted to be on set with Harry, Niall and co, sharing a couple of snaps of his own on social media:

In an age where everything down to a celebrity’s dinner plate is worthy of an Instagram like, it’s sometimes hard to know where to draw a line with what to share, and what not to share.

Well, one snap-happy One Direction fan learned this the hard way, after receiving a tonne of backlash for sharing a photo of Harry Style getting sick!

Did anyone need to see that? Really?

It seems that poor old Harry was feeling a little worse for wear after attending Lily Allen’s party over the weekend, and had the misfortune of having to pull over and be sick at the side of the road the next day.

It’s bad enough that Harry was clearly dealing with a horrific hangover, but for someone to actually photograph the scene and share it on social media is a pretty awful situation.

Needless to say, the culprit has faced major backlash from Harry’s legion of fans, and rightly so, we think!

Poor Harry! We hope he’s feeling a bit better. At least he can rest easy in the comforting knowledge that his fans will always be there to stand up for him.

Well this has to be the most random, unexpected coupling ever!

X Factor fans will no doubt remember Katie Waissel, the controversial contestant who made it to the finals with One Direction in 2010?

Well, it looks like she has found love with an A-list Hollywood star!

Yes, Katie has set tongues wagging after it was revealed that she is secretly dating The Big Bang Theory actor Johnny Galecki, who plays Leonard on the hit show.

A source has told Now magazine that while the pair have only been on a few dates, it looks like romance has blossomed.

“They have been seeing each other for a few weeks now and it’s going really well. Johnny is really private and Katie isn’t one to splash her love life around so they have been keeping a low profile,” said the source.

Did not see that one coming!

Everyone knows by now that Harry Styles has a bit of a thing for older women, so we’re not one bit surprised to hear who his rumoured new flame is.

The One Direction star has set tongues wagging after taking a trip to the pumpkin patches in Los Angeles with Nicole Richie's bestie, 32-year-old comedy performer Erin Foster.

Naturally, social media has been set ablaze with the rumour that Harry has bagged himself another cougar, but we doubt anyone will be surprised by their 12-year age gap. After all, not only was the singer once dating presenter Caroline Flack, 34, but he also had an alleged fling with married radio DJ Lucy Horobin.

While the photos of Harry and Erin’s “date” don’t reveal any particularly romantic gestures, we don’t imagine that it will take long for the singer’s devoted fans to go into total meltdown.

As we all know, Caroline Flack didn't have the easiest time of it when her romance with Harry was revealed, so we hope they don't go too crazy after getting word of their date – especially when it could be totally innocent.

Those One Direction lads can do no wrong!

The guys did a really sweet favour for a man by helping him propose to his girlfriend at their show in Atlanta last night.

Bradley Chisenhall chose the, er, intimate, setting of the gig to pop the question to his girlfriend, and decided to send out a tweet to Niall and co. to help him out with the exciting task.

“Help me propose to my girlfriend tomorrow night at the show,” Chisenhall wrote, tagging all the 1D boys in the message.

And how could they possibly refuse?

Fast forward to the big night, and the lovely Harry was inviting Bradley up on stage for his big moment!

Uh-oh. It looks like One Direction could be in big trouble.

While their ecstatic fans rejoiced upon the release of the guys’ new single, Steal My Girl, one person who was not best pleased was Paramore front woman Hayley Williams.

Hayley reckons that she has heard the intro to the guys’ new song somewhere else, and has accused the band’s songwriters of ripping-off a riff from a song by fellow US rockers New Found Glory.

The 25-year-old singer took to Twitter to share her thoughts on the new song, writing: “Beginning of that new 1D song couldn’t sound any more like the beginning of @newfoundglory’s “its [sic] not your fault”.

It takes major guts to put out a tweet like that, and to face the inevitable backlash from One Direction’s notoriously loyal fans, but Hayley was not about to filter her opinions on the subject. She added: “I realise that I’m gonna get hate from a very large fan base for that. But really, it has more to do [with] whoever pitched or co-wrote the song.”

Of course, this isn’t the first time that accusations of plagiarism have been thrown at One Direction. Last year, it was claimed that band Def Leppard were planning to sue the chart-toppers over similarities between the classic Pour Some Sugar on Me and Niall and the gang’s Midnight Memories.

The rock band later denied that they would be suing.

The Daily Show has been accused of racism after a joke they made about One Direction in the context of terrorism has come under fire on Twitter.

The joke, by Jessica Williams, lists One Direction as part of a terrorist “supergroup” but fans of the band have been enraged by the gag, calling it racist and in bad taste.

Although Jessica never mentions one member of the band in particular, One Direction fans seem to think The Daily Show were taking aim at Zayn Malik:

We’re sure The Daily Show learnt a valuable lesson from all of this – just don’t mention One Direction. Ever.

It seems the ultimate celeb love triangle is no more! 

It was widely believed that best buds Ed Sheeran and Niall Horan had fallen out big time over singer Ellie Goulding, but the lads have been doing their best to put the rumours to bed.

They were pictured sharing a cheeky smooch (all above board!) at the iHeartRadio festival in Las Vegas at the weekend – clearly a public effort to show there's no bad blood between them.

Far from giving each other the silent treatment, the pair looked like they were the life and soul of the party. Dancing on bars… they'd have none of that carry-on in Mullingar!

Niall also took to Twitter last week to make a point about unfounded rumours in the press:

Even though the two boys seem to be back on track now, it was definitely touch-and-go for a few weeks.

Ed has openly admitted that his song Don't was about a failed relationship which ended when the girl hooked up with one of his pals. Many believe the girl and friend in question are, of course, Ellie and Niall. 

"I was seeing someone for a bit, and then they ended up physically involved with one of my friends in the same hotel that we were staying in, while I was downstairs," Ed said in an interview. "And I feel like: 'Treat people how you want to be treated.'" 

The I See Fire singer said he was more angry than sad about the whole ordeal. "I didn't really come out of that situation upset. I was just pissed off. I just thought it was a bit disrespectful."

We're glad to see that Niall and Ed have patched things up… but we doubt Ed will be posing for a similarly lovey-dovey pic with Ellie any time soon!

One Direction star Liam Payne has broken his silence on nude photos that emerged online showing him naked on a bed with another man.

The photos took Twitter by storm so the singer took to his own account to clear the air, tweeting: “Wow as if people think that weird photo going around is actually me lol think id rather tweet a full frontal than have people look at that.”

In true internet style, #WeAreAllWaitingLiam soon began to trend, teasing Liam to put his money where his mouth is and post a full frontal. As of yet, he hasn’t in case anyone is wondering.

Liam followed up the confirmation that the photos are fake by tweeting: “I’m 100% not homophobic. But I’m also 100% not gay so when somebody says I am I’m gunna say I’m not which does not make me a homophobe.”

Wow – sounds like Liam let these photos get to him in a big way!

After the support she gave him and the boys during their X Factor journey and beyond, we wonder how Cheryl will feel about this latest picture to surface.

Homegrown Niall Horan turns 21 on September 13th and decided to start celebrating early this weekend with a night out in London.

Along with MTV’s Laura Whitmore and Voice of Ireland’s Bressie, there was another surprise guest at the festivities – Cheryl’s former husband Ashley Cole.

Eh, since when are those two best buds?

The footballer tweeted his happiness at being part of the 1Der's big night, saying: "Birthday party for @NiallOfficial enjoy now u a man  #doing #what #i #do"

We have to say we're surprised to see Ashley there – maybe he just happened to be in the right place at the right time?

Cheryl's star is on the rise again after her recent marriage to Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini and her return to the X Factor judging panel, so hopefully she's more than over her cheating ex.

However, no matter how much you've moved on, it does sting to see a friend hanging out with the ex that broke your heart.

Maybe Niall and Cheryl aren't as close as we thought. Considering her tumultuous history with Cher Lloyd, maybe Cheryl just doesn't keep up relationships with former X Factor contestants once the season is over.

Oblivious to any potential drama that the birthday pics may have caused, everyone seemed to be in good spirits that night, with Laura Whitmore posts lots of happy pictures to her Instagram account.

Happy Birthday, Niall – you definitely deserve to have some fun!
