James Corden has given us some hilarious celebrity moments in his carpool videos for the Late Show with James Corden, which has become a huge hit in the States.

The British comedian has had everyone from Justin Bieber to Mariah Carey in the car and it's safe to say that James is pretty much a comedic genius.

And he did it again when he became a temporary member One Direction in his latest car pool spoof video.

James invited the boys to join him on his way to work and asked them the questions we all wanted to ask, made them sing along to their own songs and added a pretty impressive rap to Drag Me Down.

He even had them dress up in denim shirts and do some pretty dodgey, old-school boyband choreography.

And of course, hilarity ensued.

Even though we are not the BIGGEST One Direction fans in the entire world, this video would make us miss them.

DON'T GO 1D.

One Direction have said goodbye (FOR NOW) to their boyband days, and while their hiatus has officially begun, many fans are not feeling optimistic.

But fear not! Because here are five other bands that survived their hiatus and came back as kickass as ever:

1. No Doubt

Believe it or not, No Doubt formed in California, way back in 1986 and are somehow still going strong today. They have had decades of success, but that doesn't mean they didn't have their bad times.

In 2004, the band took a break so Gwen could release her own album, Love. Angel. Music. Baby. They bounced back together in 2008, and then announced their second hiatus in 2013. And yet, nearly 30 years later (!!!) No Doubt are touring together again.

2. Backstreet Boys

Sadly, most of the early 2000s boybands are a thing of the past (NYSYNC, you'll always be in our hearts), but the Backstreet Boys just keep on coming back for more.

The guys have taken several hiatuses over the years but are currently working on their ninth studio album.

3. Fall Out Boy

Pete and they boys took their hiatus back in 2009 and then came back together in 2013 to release Save Rock And Roll, their fifth studio album.

And they haven't stopped since then, with many of their songs featuring big pop artists like Demi Lovato and Avril Lavigne.

4. Blink 182

All the pop-punk fans out there will know Blink 182 have had many ups and downs. In 2005, Tom DeLonge decided he was finished with the band and their label issued a statement announcing Blink's "indefinite hiatus."

Then in 2009, the band came back together again for a reunion tour and in 2011, released a full-length album called Neighbourhoods. But in 2015, Tom decided he was done again.

5. Foo Fighters

Dave Grohl might not let a broken leg get in the way, but any Foo Fighter fans will know the group have had their fair amount of breaks back in the day.

And as it turns out, after the band released their free EP, Saint Cecilia, in November, they officially took on a hiatus. But we're sure they'll be back soon.

Well, David Beckham is certainly a One Directioner. And it seems the retired footballer likes to sing along to the band's songs while driving along in his car.

The 40-year-old was caught singing Steal My Girl in a compilation of farewell tributes aired on The X Factor last night.

The clip, which can be seen in the 1.45 minute mark, is followed by a cute message from David who wanted to say a temporary goodbye to the lads.

"Boys, what can I say? Five years and you've given so much to so many people," said David. "Unbelievably talented but more importantly unbelievable guys. Congratulations – five years of incredible moments. You need to come back soon or you're gonna have more videos like that."

They performed on last night's X Factor final, but it seems we won't be hearing much more from the One Direction boys for a while.

After confirming back in the summer that they would indeed be taking an hiatus of a year or more come 2016, the famous foursome appeared to have finished things up early.

Within minutes of appearing on the X Factor stage, Niall, Liam, Harry and Louis took to Twitter to share this video goodbye with their fans, giving them a "massive" thank you, and calling the hiatus the "last part of our first chapter."

The lads also posted their own personal goodbyes via Twitter, but it was their faces at the end of their performance that said it all:

Hoooum.

While it's unlikely the 1D boys will be making any music together for a while, we could be hearing some solo writing and singing work – at least from some of them.

There has been massive speculation that Harry plans to launch a solo project, while Ellie Goulding has also confirmed she'll be heading into the studio with Niall.

"He's a good friend of mine and it goes without saying that writing a song with someone you are friends with and someone you get on with, you can't really replace that with anything," she said of their decision to work together.

"I write the best songs with someone I feel truly comfortable with. So, definitely I think it will be a laugh.''

Liam's also said he'd like nothing better than to keep his toe in the pop music waters, saying in an interview last week that he "just wants to write songs."

Wonder if they'll get back together at the end of it all? Well, we'll always have 2010…

The cuteness.

Selena Gomez is pulling out all the stops at the moment to show the world that she is an independent woman and has NO time for anybody that tries to drag her down.

And with rumours popping up EVERYWHERE that she and 1D's Niall Horan are an item, she's certainly not trying to deny them.

After noticing an Instagram user was debating whether to buy Justin Beiber's new album Purpose or One Direction's Made in the A.M., Selena made it clear what album (or man) she preferred… Twice.

I love justin but LMAO SELENA

How sassy is this girl?!

It's possible that this was a way to show support to her new beau Mr Horan, or it could also be a way to shut down her ex who won't stop talking about her on social media.

Either way, Selena's reaction was on point and we wish we could settle every IG debate with such sass. You go girl!

As any Irish person will tell you, you can't beat our little country in the run-up to Christmas.

And one person who's dying to get home and dive into the festive madness is Mullingar man Niall Horan. The event he's most excited about? His annual Twelve Pubs of Christmas night, of course.

So much so that he's even decided to educate his American fans on this joyous Irish tradition.

Speaking to E! News after a recent performance in Texas, the One Direction star filled the reporter in on a standard Irish pub crawl and how it works.

"At home, we do this thing called Twelve Pubs of Christmas. You've got five minutes to finish a pint and you're done.

"I personally haven't been home in a while and that's going to be good to see the family and eat like crazy."

The 1D lads all admitted to feeling "emotional" at the Jingle Ball performance in Texas, as it was set to be their last gig together for some time.

"To be honest with you, this show is kind of an important one for us," Liam explained to the crowd.

"This is going to be the last time for a little while. I feel myself getting a little emotional."

Now that their year-long world tour is almost over, the foursome are set to take an indefinite hiatus. And once Niall's finished all his Twelve Pubs boozing, he has some far healthier plans in store.

"By the end of next year I’d love to be a low single-figures golfer," he told 2fm about his plans for 2016.

"I’d like to be in some sort of good shape too."

It was an interview with a difference for the One Direction boys as they joined James Corden for a game of Tattoo Roulette on Thursday's episode of The Late Late Show.

And believe us, it was every bit as entertaining as you'd think a game called Tattoo Roulette could ever be.

The boyband and James had to choose a box that would either say tattoo or safe on the inside. The unlucky man who picked the one with tattoo would then be forced to get a tattoo on television. Eek!

But even better than Harry Styles actually getting inked is Niall's terrified reactions to getting his first tattoo in front of a live studio audience:

Selena Gomez is certainly the lady of the moment!

Just days after Justin Bieber publicly serenaded her at a bar in LA, Selena, 23, was spotted with another major male pop star.

And this time it was One Direction's Niall Horan. Yep, the Mullingar man reconnected with Selena after the AMAs and the duo went out for a cosy dinner with Selena's parents.

Dinner with the parents? Very interesting!

Selena, Niall and Mr and Mrs Gomez went to Malibu hotspot, Nobu, but Us Weekly reports that the Niall and Selena are just good friends.

It was just three days before that the Good For You singer had a reunion with her ex Justin, 21. And they certainly had tongues wagging when pictures surfaced of them spending time together in Beverly Hills

But Niall and Justin aren't the only men Selena has been spending time with as she was also spotted two weeks ago having dinner with Gigi Hadid's BFF, Samuel Krost – and they looked particularly cosy.

All we want to know is who will Selena choose, or will she choose any of them at all.

One Direction have literally been everywhere promoting their latest album, Made In The AM,  which means we are getting a healthy dose of the boys before they head off on their one year hiatus (nooooo!).

It is common knowledge among One Directioners that Niall occasionally sports a pair of glasses – but never have the elusive spectacles made it onto the stage.

Until now, that is. *cue hysteria*.

The glasses made their appearance while the four-piece were performing on Good Morning America earlier this week, with the new look even prompting the host to ask the Mullingar-man about his new look.

“Eye sight’s failed me hasn’t it? No not at all, they’re an accessory,” he replied.

Nevertheless, the minor appearance change prompted inevitable Twitter chaos and the One Directioners went through several stages of attempting to cope with the news.

1) There was initial panic

2) Then they were a tad speechless

3) There were emotional reactions

4) And physical reactions

5) Next came the drama.

6. And we mean DRAMA

7) Next came the impure thoughts

8) Finally, there was a rallying cry to make sure Niall never removes those glasses ever again

We must admit though, he does look well in glasses.

And, SWOON.

The fine men of One Direction featured on The Ellen Degeneres Show on Wednesday as part of their promotional tour for Made in the A.M., and Ellen, being the great woman that she is, decided to play Never Have I Ever with the group.

The boys initially felt some discomfort with the questions but soon settled into the game, and ended up revealing quite a lot.

For example, Liam is the only one who has never been skinny-dipping, while Niall admits to using Harry's toothbrush. But it was Harry who dropped the biggest bomb when he admitted to hooking up with a fan.

"I think mine's broken," he joked after he flipped his paddle to the "I Have" side. Ah, it's all out now, Harry!

In March of this year, Zayn Malik made a very sudden departure from One Direction.

As it happens, Zayn seems to be making his split from the rest of the boys very clear. In an interview with Fader, the 22-year old has revealed that he was never a fan of 1D’s music.

“That's not music that I would listen to. Would you listen to One Direction, sat at a party with your girl? I wouldn't.”

The now solo artist sat down to chat about a new teaser for his debut single Befour and had a candid chat about his feelings towards Liam and the rest of the gang.

He explained his new artistic direction as it were, and revealed that he felt disconnected from the music that 1D became famous for releasing.

He admitted he “loved” the band, but the music was not to his liking. He seems to be well and truly over the 1D-mania, and the avid fans that come with the territory as he defended his statements saying:

“I don't think that's an offensive statement to make. That's just not who I am.”

Zayn, who also split from Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards this summer, added that if he was on a date, he wouldn’t fancy listening to One Direction.

"If I was sat at a dinner date with a girl, I would play some cool s**t, you know what I mean? I want to make music that I think is cool s**t. I don't think that's too much to ask for.”

He signed a record deal with RCA Records in July after leaving 1D in March to pursue a 'private and more normal life'. According to the interview Zayn has also been enjoying other creative pursuits:

“Entering Zayn’s backyard stirs up an eerie feeling of boyhood bumping up against something darker. Boxed on his porch is a high-powered Predator CarbonLite crossbow.”

He also commented on his break-up and the claims that he broke up with Perrie via text:

“I have more respect for Perrie than to end anything over text message. I love her a lot, and I always will.”

We know that Olly Murs is not a television presenter by trade, but we can't help but squirm after watching last night's X Factor fiasco.

First of all, the singer and Simon Cowell favourite (he was the hit show's runners-up in 2009) kinda forgot about arguably the most popular member of the biggest boyband on the planet.

Yes, One Direction came back to the place where it all began and performed their new single, Perfect, on the X Factor stage.

Following a flawless performance, Olly chatted to the band members about their tour and being back in front of the judging panel. Olly goes down the line chatting to Niall first before questioning Liam and Louis.

He then just ignores Harry. Yikes!

We don't know if it was intentional but it sure as hell was awkward to watch… and understandably the One Directioners present on the evening were less than impressed in the aftermath.

Indeed, with the audience booing and desperately urging Mr Murs to turn his attention to Mr Styles, the former had no choice but to awkwardly throw in a "hope it's not too bad down there" in the latter's direction.

However, the slip-up could be considered small in comparison to the major blunder he had later on in the show.

Following the sing-off between Simon's Anton Stephans and Rita's gal, Monica Michael, the judges took the vote to deadlock – meaning that the contestant with the lowest public vote would leave the competition.

Before the envelope supposedly containing the name of the contestant going out of the competition arrived on stage, Olly told Monica she was leaving.

Ouch.

Caroline quickly reacted by pointing out that her co-host was mistaken. Apologising, Olly and Caroline go on to reveal that it is in fact (quelle surprise) Monica who is leaving.

You can watch the absolutely cringe inducing moment below.

Olly afterwards took to Twitter to apologise but fans were already crying out that the mishap proves the popular Saturday night show is fixed.

Lucky for man himself, there was one TV presenter quick to defend him.

It may happen to the best TV presenters, but we sure as hell don't remember Dermot ever making a mistake. We miss you, Dermo!
