A new party trend has made its way over from the States, and could very well be hitting Irish clubs in time for the summer.

Nude Body Painting involves a club night where you turn up, strip down, and proceed to dance, drink and paint each other’s naked bodies with UV paint.

But where do we put our purses?!

While getting down to the buff is not mandatory, Nude Body Painting is definitely not a night for wall flowers.

A concept devised by Social Exposure, a New York City-based avant-garde events company, the events have been a massive success state-side and across the world, drawing hundreds of eager thrill seekers in New York, Mexico and Miami.

And now the trend has hit clubs in the UK, with the first ever event of its kind being held this weekend in London.

The idea of the nights is to ‘celebrate inner beauty, positive body image and unity through the arts’.

“Brushes are going every where and you should expect to leave completely covered in paint,” explains founder of Social Exposure, Sally Golan.

Oh my!

The rules for the evening are things such as ‘No inappropriate behaviour’ and ‘respect each other’s privacy and bodies’.

Well, we’d like to think so!

Birthdays and parties are always good fun so why not add some more excitement to yours and throw in a theme!

These themes are adult friendly and don’t all require dressing up (though that is the most fun!)

1. Classy
Dig out that ball gown you wore to your debs five years ago and make an excuse to wear it again. Make your theme black tie and have fun being anything but classy in gowns and tuxes at your houseparty.

2. Party in the US
Go all American and get some red cups (you always wanted an excuse to buy them), some hot dogs, Budweiser, Reese’s Pieces, flags and anything else you can think of!

3. Vintage tea party
Bring the girls around for an afternoon of triangle cucumber sandwiches, pastel macaroons and mimosas.

4. 80’s movie stars
Dress up as your favourite 80’s movie star, we’re thinking Sam Baker from Sixteen Candles, and dance the night away with Marty McFly.

5. Garden party
If the weather permits, take your shindig outside and doll the garden up like an enchanted forest. Lots of flowers, garlands, outdoor lighting and fairy lights will have your garden looking magical.

6. 90’s band party
Channel your inner Lene from Aqua and go all out with gummy bracelets and a Baby G watch.

There’s nothing worse than bumping into your ex, no matter how famous you are.

But One Direction’s Harry Styles managed not to flee the scene when his former flame Caroline Flack showed up at the same showbiz party.

Harry and Xtra Factor presenter Caroline both turned up at their mutual pal Lou Teasdale’s book launch party at London’s Shoreditch on the release of her DIY hair and beauty manual The Craft.

Well, at least Taylor Swift didn’t make an appearance too.

The pair caused scandal when they began dating in October 2011, due to their 14-year age difference.

However, following their split in January 2012, Caroline insisted that their relationship was just a bit of fun and that they planned to stay friends.

“It was just really fun to hang out… I don’t think we were ever going to have a long-term future,” said Caroline. “It was fun and it was hurting nobody… [Breaking up] was fine. And now we’re friends.”

A muffin tin can come in handy other than in the kitchen you know!

1. Jewellery organiser
Paint it a pretty colour and use it to separate your earrings and rings. Cute!

2. Plants
Use your muffin tin to plant small plants or herbs.

3. Smoothie cubes
Make a big batch of smoothie at the start of the week then divide the mixture between the holders. Freeze and then place them in a freezer bag. Store in the freezer and blend with some water or coconut water every morning. So handy!

4. Condiments
Instead of a big mess of ketchup, mayo, mustard, pesto and hummus for this year’s barbecue, store your condiments in a muffin tin with individual spoons and top up as you need. Mess and stress free!

5. Party food
Store different types of pick n’ mix in muffin tin holders for a cute and sweet display.

Although only a few years apart, there is a world of difference between how we like to let our hair down at 18 and 25.

Where to party

  • At 18: Your parents are away for the weekend and have entrusted you to look after the house (and the booze cabinet) unsupervised. Jackpot!
  • At 25: You are a confident and sophisticated 20-something and are ready to grace the bar and club scene with vigour. After those never-ending awkward teen years, the novelty of adult conversation and overpriced Chardonnay is a thrill.

Getting ready

  • At 18: You’ll start to get ready for the night out at around 2pm that day. You’ll assemble with friends to discuss many, many outfits and hairdos, going through a landslide of selfies and a gallon of lip-gloss while agonising over whether or not your ‘crush du jour’ will show up.
  • At 25: Party prep in your more calm and collected 20s is less flustered than your teen years. You know what suits you and what really doesn’t, what looks to avoid and what to flaunt. You can also probably afford your own outfits by now and don’t have to wait until your sister/flatmate goes out in order to pillage her wardrobe.

The morning after

  • At 18: You’ve partied ‘til dawn and are still feeling fresh enough to make it in time for that lecture or part-time job. Hangover who?
  • At 25: Never again…

This wedding was paid for completely by Michael Jordan and his wife, making it easily the most expensive ever (excluding royals) coming in at $10 million. The wedding featured a 500,000 square-foot tent.

2. Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries
Estimated at $10 million, Kim and Kris paid next to nothing for this extravagant affair. Wedding suppliers flocked to provide goods and services for free just to be associated with the wedding of the year. Bet they have regrets. Will they come back for her upcoming nuptials to Kanye? Probably.

If you thought that these weddings were expensive then you will never believe what the royals spend on theirs!

Kate Middleton and Prince Williams’s wedding was a budget affair at $33 million when compared to Prince Charles and Diana’s wedding which cashed in at $115 million.

Sheika Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum and his bride Sheika Hind Bint Maktoum’s romantic 1979 wedding cost $137 million and was held in Dubai. A hall especially for the event was built for 20,000 people and a five day national holiday was declared.

No one knows how to celebrate quite like Rihanna and her 26th birthday celebrations prove that nothing has changed with age!

The singer posted a series of photos to her Instgram account with a caption suggesting she plans on celebrating hard tonight: “26 you better bring it bitch!!!! 48 hrs left on my quarter century! Here’s to not remembering any of them!”

The singer is obviously planning on partying for the next two days somewhere nice as she added the hashtag #cabinlife to many of her photos.

Jessica Alba certainly knows how to party.

The Fantastic Four actress threw a pyjama pizza party for her husband, Cash Warren, where the guests wore onesies and played Twister.

Like most parties this one got a little wild and, after consuming too much alcohol, the America actress admits she doesn’t remember the cops arriving.

We want to party with Jessica after hearing this story.

It looks like Ms Bey was lucky enough to perform at Michelle Obama’s birthday party in the White House on Saturday night.

The singer shared these pictures of herself, husband Jay-z and little cutie Blue Ivy on her website.

In one snap, it looks as if the star is having her make-up done, perhaps before a performance for the First Lady. In another she is seen with the Obamas’ dog, Bo.

There are also some cute snaps of Blue Ivy walking with her parents into the White House – look how sweet her outfit is!

As we mentioned before, this is a party we would have liked to attend however our invite must have gotten lost in the post. Guess we’ll just have to be happy looking at the photos.
