Now that Miley Cyrus' split from Patrick Schwarzenegger is all but confirmed, it seems the singer is already moving on.

Far from finding someone new though, Miley has been "hanging out" with her ex-fiancé Liam Hemsworth in Los Angeles, a source tells Us Weekly. "[O]nly a few people know," the insider revealed. "Dating could definitely happen."

Miley and Liam got engaged back in 2012 but broke up the following year. Speaking about the split a few months later, Miley said she simply wasn't ready for the commitment.

"I don’t ever want to have to need someone again, where you feel like, without them, you can’t be yourself," she explained to journalist Barbara Walters. “I don’t think I realised what 19 truly is, and I got engaged at 19."

Hunger Games star Liam has generally spoken positively about Miley, even saying the two will "always be best friends," so  a reunion is not totally surprising. But could it be the real deal?

"Liam has rough stories about that relationship," says Us Weekly's insider. "But he always talks about how fun she was to hang out with and their great chemistry."

Miley and Arnold Schwarzenegger's son Patrick began dating around six months ago, but the relationship fell apart last month after Patrick was pictured getting a bit too cosy with another woman.

Pictures were published of Patrick dancing with a mystery girl and doing body shots off her stomach while on spring break in Mexico, which Miley was understandably unhappy about.

"At first, she [Miley] was into him because she thought he was a nice guy," a source said at the time. "But the Mexico scandal completely changed how she felt."

So could love be in the air again for Miley and Liam? Watch this space…

Miley Cyrus and her boyfriend Patrick Schwarzenegger were at the centre of some scandal this week when pictures where published of Patrick getting cosy with another woman.

After travelling to Cabo San Lucas for spring break, Patrick was snapped dancing and holding hands with a mystery brunette. Onlookers also claimed he took a body shot off her stomach – very cheeky indeed!

Now the drama has intensified as it has emerged that the mystery girl is not such a mystery after all – in fact she is even someone that Miley has hung out with on previous occasions.

The pair were pictured together as recently as November, when Miley attended a college football game with Patrick and his friends.

Whether that is going to make the controversial pictures harder or easier to deal with for Miley we can't be sure.

As for Patrick, he has been making every effort to make it clear he was not cheating on Miley. He took to Twitter the day after the pictures were published to state that the woman in question was a friend's girlfriend, writing, "Would NEVER do anything against my GF":

Miley Cyrus and Patrick Schwarzenegger may have been dating for the last five months, but it looks like Arnold's son isn't ready to settle down just yet.

The 21-year-old was on spring break in Cabo San Lucas this weekend when he was pictured getting VERY cosy with a mystery brunette.

Judging by her sorority headband, the bikini-clad girl appears to be one of Patrick's fellow students at the University of South California, and it definitely looked like the two were more than friends as they danced together.

Although no pictures of Patrick and his mystery woman kissing have emerged, it certainly seemed as if they were about to in this snap:

We wonder what Miley will have to say about this! The singer has made no secret of her relationship with Patrick and has reportedly even been trying to reign in her wild-child ways to impress his mum, Maria Shriver.

The pair have apparently even discussed marriage and a future together, according to friends.

It's only been five months – is Patrick already getting cold feet?!

Meeting your boyfriend's dad for the first time is definitely a sweaty palm-inducing moment and even more so when you know your boy's mum already doesn't like you.

However, it seems Miley Cyrus and Patrick Schwarzenegger's relationship has been given the thumbs up by Arnold. Phew! We certainly wouldn't like to be on the wrong side of the Terminator… 

The Wrecking Ball singer has been going out with the 21-year-old for several months now and according to HollywoodLife, a source close to the family has said Arnie is "proud of Patrick for dating such a sought after girl like Miley. He compares it to dating Madonna at the peak of her fame."

But it seems Arnie is not really concerned about his son's happiness, but rather approves of the relationship because of all the attention it has brought his family. The source added: “He’s been showing her off around Ketchum to all his friends. Arnold loves being in the spotlight and is really enjoying all the attention Patrick’s relationship with Miley is getting."

However, not everyone agrees with Arnie – Patrick's mum, Maria Shriver, is none too impressed with her son's choice of girl and is not particularly pleased her ex-husband "is okay with it". 

We wouldn't worry too much, Miley – sure it's the same with all mums and their sons…

While it looks like the relationship between everyone’s favourite twerker and her new boyfriend is showing no signs of slowing down, unfortunately for Miley Cyrus, she’s not doing much to impress her potential in-laws.

22-year-old Miley and new beau Patrick Schwarzenegger have made no secret of the fact they’re head-over-heels; something which Patrick’s mum, Maria Shriver, is really struggling to deal with.

According to reports, Miley’s recent birthday celebrations didn’t do much to endear her to Maria, with a source saying: “The birthday party with all the penis pictures disgusted her. That was the worst thing Miley could have done.” Ouch.

The former First Lady of California is concerned for her son’s future if he decides to stay with the Wrecking Ball singer and a source revealed: “Maria is very, very worried about the influence Miley’s having on Patrick. She fully believes that you become who you surround yourself with and she’s always been so happy with the friends Patrick chooses, she never saw this coming."

Well, this could make for a really awkward Christmas.

It looks like Miley Cyrus may have a new man.

The Wrecking Ball singer has sparked rumours of a new romance after being spotted leaving the apartment of none other than Patrick Schwarzenegger, the son of legendary actor Arnold.

While the pair were careful to keep their distance from each other in front of the awaiting paparazzi outside Patrick’s home, their appearance has set the Hollywood rumour mill into overdrive.

What is adding to the speculation is the fact that not only were the pair said to be dating back in 2011, but Patrick once named Miley as his ultimate celebrity crush.

In an interview with Details magazine, the model admitted that despite being in a relationship with Demi Moore’s daughter Tallulah at the time, he had designs on the singer.

“My eye is set on Miley,” he said, in a rather awkward admission.

She’s not exactly one to shy away from the attention, so we’re sure Miley will soon address the rumours in her own unique way!
